Thank you, for this honest attempt to pull all the pieces together. I read so much sadness and what you write so much longing for people to get vulnerable and seek a way to be kind to each other.

Where does she write she wants people to be more kind she wants political revenge and a one party system as revenge against those who "wronged" her but kindness I dont see much of that.

She wants "political revenge" in the form of killing? Where does she write that? The Far Left wants "political revenge", from misgendering thru censorship to killing. Are those the same? Where does she write that?

I never said killing but she does want it in the form of keeping half the country from ever having power again. If you keep half the country without power that is a form of revenge like it or not.

We call that democracy. She doesn’t advocate any other means of securing political power. I think you’re projecting here.

We dont have a democracy stop pretending we have one.

Sadly enough, from what I see, they are ways too deep in their delusional righteousness to turn back. The return of Kimmel to his show gave the fire new oxygen.

It’s part of the democrats extreme reclassification of the English language. It’s typical for them if the reality doesn’t fit what they want; silence it, cancel it, murder it.

Moderate Republican = Nazis

Defense = Genocide

ICE = Gestapo

Debate = Assassin

Words have no meaning for the modern liberal; just feelings and vague impressions based on the partial-histories they gleaned. No rigor just lies to consolidate power!

Now the democrats have a Violence problem that they were in Denial about, then got Angry over Kimmel, then Bargained with “it’s both sides”. Will they get to Depression then Acceptance? Not likely. Just listen to Newsom call a code red. They are doubling down right back to Denial!

The inflammatory stuff Newsom is putting out makes me think that he wants to be a free speech martyr, like Kimmel. He keeps escalating.

Utter lack of humility will lead to utter humiliation.

from Grok: The idea that a lack of humility leads to humiliation is a recurring theme in religion, philosophy, literature, and wisdom traditions.

Here are some quotes and ideas that echo this sentiment:C.S. Lewis: "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less." This suggests that failing to practice humility—by being overly self-focused—can lead to a fall or social humiliation when reality corrects the ego.

Proverbs 16:18 (Bible): "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." A classic biblical warning that arrogance or lack of humility often precedes a humbling experience.

Lao Tzu (Tao Te Ching): "Those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." This Taoist principle highlights the natural balance where self-aggrandizement leads to being brought low.

Greek Proverb: "The higher the tree climbs, the harder it falls." This reflects the idea that those who rise through pride or arrogance are more likely to face a dramatic humbling.

William Shakespeare (Macbeth): "Vaulting ambition, which o'erleaps itself, And falls on th'other." Ambition without humility can lead to overreaching and subsequent downfall.

Confucius: "Humility is the solid foundation of all virtues." Without humility, one’s virtues falter, potentially leading to disgrace or failure.

Ralph Waldo Emerson: "A great man is always willing to be little." This implies that those who refuse to embrace humility will struggle to maintain true greatness and may face humiliation.

These quotes and ideas align with the notion that humility acts as a safeguard against the pitfalls of pride, and those who fail to cultivate it often face correction through life’s humbling moments.

Excellent post.

For about a year, I've been obsessed with a novel I've been writing working on it every day, rain or shine. Since Charlie Kirk's death, I've been having trouble concentrating. I knew the rot had gone deep. About a decade ago, I recall reading that thirty percent of young people preferred capitalism to socialism. That, and a few other events made me realize that we had been bad stewards of the culture. Since then, I've been haranguing everyone I know. Although I knew that the rot was bad a decade ago and was progressing, I didn't know how bad it had gotten. How can so many people think that killing someone over their opinions is justified?

Reminder to everyone in New Jersey: don't forget to vote this year. There's an election for governor.

Yes. “How bad it will get,” and how bad THEY will get. Don’t see any limit on the offing.

Read the deranged texts of Reich and the lies of Egberto Willies. The Democrat's only decent outcome now is retribution.

Wonderful commentary, Sasha, as usual. You bring a firehose of events over years into perspective.

The San Jose riot was shocking to me, living there at the time, and now it seems like a book end with Charlie Kirk's assassination the bookend on the other side. I hope.

DE-Ideology does not believe in decency. De-Ideology believes in hate. DE-Ideology believes in "by any means necessary". If intimidation by violence would achieve "social justice", what would be wrong with that?

By the way, Hitler's ideology, Nazism, believed in division and lowering those with "too much status" (sound familiar?), whereas Mussolini's ideology, fascism, did not. The Far Left cannot even get its ideologies straight.

Linguistic Note: "'gh' preceded by "i", as of about 1500 meant /i/, which due to sound-change is now spelled as "ee" or "ea". Because "gh" meant /i/, "gh" after /i/ meant /i/ + /i/, otherwise known as "long /ii/", which became /ai/ ("ah" + "ee"). In French spelling, "g" and "c" after /i/ meant the same thing as "gh" after /i/: /i/ + /i/. Anyone who does not believe that should consider words like "indict", "sign", and "design", which also became /i/ + /i/.
