Pratt lost to "The Machine". Gavin Newsom promised he would "break the glass" and release the Kraken, if necessary. Pratt's success in Los Angeles was just such a Democrat emergency. Pretty hard to beat the anti-Democrats at their rigged game. I never want to hear a peep from another Democrat about "saving democracy". They are the enemies of democracy.

And Miraculously as soon as the 2 Democratic candidates were ahead for the runoff all the vote counting stopped. Who would have thunk it would happen

Notoya Palmer's avatar

I thought the exact same thing as well. I am not a Californian, but this felt like a gut punch. I hope a whistleblower comes forward. None of this makes sense. If Bass had also gotten a bump, I would understand. Something is not right

The LA GOP has issued a statement because of ill informed statements like - Shades of 2020, Trump ahead at bedtime, Trump behind at daybreak.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LosAngeles/comments/1ty1b1l/lagop_explains_vote_counting_process/

That Trump continues to lie about this, or if he doesn’t think he’s lying, then what? Being willfully ignorant or idiotic? Hate to tell.

The local yokels in CA municipalities may be able to continue playing counting games for local elections. But they may be cuffed sharply behind the ear once SCOTUS rules (soon) in Watson vs. RNC, which could force election counts that have federal offices on the ballot, to be counted much more quickly (curtailing ballots postmarked after Election Day).

https://bipartisanpolicy.org/article/what-could-the-supreme-courts-decision-in-watson-v-rnc-mean-for-mail-voting/

Hebrides' Eilidh NicDhòmhnaill's avatar

So the feds meddling in state elections? Can’t both sides play that game - gerrymandering?

Matt L.'s avatar

What don’t you understand about Federal? Those are offices which impact all 50 States. The rest of the country doesn’t need to be held hostage to waiting for the world’s 4th largest economy up to 30 days to count its ballots, when the offices are Federal. If SCOTUS rules as I think they will, all States with mail-in voting are going to have to implement rules to no longer allow counting of ballots postmarked after Election Day for general elections. If you can’t get your shit together to postmark by the deadline, then your vote doesn’t count. After that, I expect the next case that will rise to Supreme’s is curtailing ballot harvesting, or allowing a person different from the voter to put that mail-in ballot in the mailbox. Although how this part would be policed, I’ve no clue.

Dena's avatar

They don’t even try to hide the cheating. Even Raman thought she’d lost on election night - she probably really believes the votes legitimately broke for her. Such idiots.

Samhain's avatar

I don't think for a second that he actually "lost". This was taken from him after the Dem machine realized he was going to face off against Bass, where he would have had a real chance in a fair election.

Ruth H's avatar

Totally agree. Even celebrities were starting to speak out for Pratt. Pratt did not lose the election. It was stolen from him by CA corruption.

John L Taylor's avatar

Prove it - easy to throw out the allegations. Trump does it daily and did not produce a skerrick of evidence in 60 court actions (which he lost).

Dena's avatar

The evidence was / is there for 2020. The judicial system would not allow it to be seen.

John L Taylor's avatar

What utter bullshit. You got the transcripts with inadmissibilty rulings? I’ll wait. Send links. Come on, ante up with receipts. Put up or STFU. I noticed the 🍊 💩 ran from an interview just yesterday after a woman reporter challenged him on the evidence. What a snowflake.

Dena's avatar

The statistical probability of Pratt not getting one of the 24,000 votes is 1 in trillions.

Samhain's avatar

There's always one progressive putz who will just respond to everything you say because they live to annoy others. His only purpose is to annoy you until you give up. Actually that's not true; he has another purpose: To make sure every literate human being continues to rightfully hate Boomers.

John L Taylor's avatar

The actuality of him being a total asshole is where you need to be looking. But your post is long on assertion and very short on evidence. Don’t waste my time with this crap.

Strait of Hormuz open yet? Asking for a friend

Hebrides' Eilidh NicDhòmhnaill's avatar

This is LA, America’s 2nd largest city, with a population oar-reaching 4 million, not the maga loving heartland.

Samhain's avatar

Once the Dems became so patently illiberal that they ran off a commie, pinko, fag like me, anybody is on the table. Wanting to reverse the destruction of the city doesn't make pepole "MAGA", in fact, it's gotten bad enough that large swaths of voters are walking away, which is why they need to summon Saint Obama to try to shame black males into continuing to vote against their best interests.

I lived there for 25 years and only left a couple years ago. Yeah, the genderwoo clowns in academia and the usual cast of Marxist antisemites will always vote for the likes of Bass, but they've been hemorrhaging "normal" voters of all stripes. Even here in the SF Bay Area, there is starting to be accountability thanks to the Aisan and Indian communities (Yes, India is technically South Asia, but it's big enough to be its own thing so everybody leave me alone, lol).

People have started paying attention and it's not good for the Democrats.

Hebrides' Eilidh NicDhòmhnaill's avatar

So Spencer Pratt is a solution? Seems the voters en masse don’t agree.

Samhain's avatar

It seems the people picking up "mail in" votes days later from unmonitored ballot boxes liked Nithya Raman much more than actual voters did. The side that doesn't want election reform just happens to be witness to miracle after miracle, always timed perfectly when things looked bleak for their preferred candidate.

I guess her popularity just exploded right when nobody was looking, weird.

Matt L.'s avatar

You may be right. But it must be proven.

EPoch270's avatar

The one thing I think few people realize is that all election departments in every County are run by a very select few of bureaucratic heavily Left-leaning Democrats and can completely control and manipulate elections with very little oversight. It'll be very easy for even in La as few as about eight people to decide what ballots get counted and what don't. Whatever gets put in the machine is gospel

Chris Ferro's avatar

I actually don't believe that the Democrats cheated that much. I think LA is just full of some of the stupidest people that have ever walked the Earth. It's also full of "tax consumers," because they've run so many "tax payers" out of town. Once the people who live off of government get a majority, they can simply continue to vote for free stuff. I think that explains what's going on here.

EPoch270's avatar

It is just so statistically unlikely for her to surge this fast and in this manner. It screams of ballot stuffing after it looked like Pratt was going to win 2nd. The elections department has zero safeguards to prevent a few elections employees from opening envelopes that were postmarked after 6/2 and then saying "all these arrived on time" or they weren't postmarked. Literally the only thing preventing malfeasance is their moral threshold and if they don't like Pratt (or Trump or any candidate) they can simply take the ballots from their envelope add them to the pile and then say "we have no idea what is what so we just have to count them all".

Dena's avatar

I don’t disagree that LA is full of stupid people, but this CA voting system is designed to be rigged.

opus's avatar

It's an omen for the blue states writ large. The rural areas of states like Illinois and WA/OR will be looking to disentangle. Seems inevitable that a reckoning is coming.

George S. Bardmesser's avatar

It would have been a real surprise if the Democrats did NOT steal this vote.

W. A. Samuel's avatar

I highly suspect that election fraud was involved to pull N.Raman into 2nd place and knock Spencer Pratt out of the run-off with Bass. Yes, it really is a worst case scenario for LA…..

Nate Hartley's avatar

The election was stolen in plain sight. They aren’t even trying to make the fraud look believable anymore. It’s all so brazen.

Dutchmn007's avatar

Late ballot dump the other nite reportedly had 24,000 ballots, ALL for Rayman & NOT ONE for Pratt. Not only are they stealing elections but they’re shoving the middle finger in our faces while doing it.

That said, the DOJ has got to come up with the evidence of this, show the public & prosecute the felons. Simply carping about voter fraud & not producing any evidence is not going to change anything.

Have an apt in Studio City; time for me to close up shop & get the hell out permanently.

Dutchmn007's avatar

Haven't been a resident since 2014 although they still send me ballots. I throw them away.

opus's avatar

The question is how many ballots like yours are harvested and fraudulently returned. Don't want to be associated with these people in any way, shape or form.

Mark Marshall's avatar

Another obvious stolen election. So many methods used in California must be outlawed nationwide.

Andrea Antonucci's avatar

Bloody thieves. Disgusting. The fact that all the submissions or "votes' that pushed him out were counted post election day tells the entire story. I hope someone very wealthy will fund the lawsuit Pratt should bring.

BAH I don't even live in CA and I was so excited about his campaign. But the machine churns on; normies be damned.

ThePossum 🇬🇧's avatar

Pratt being pushed out of the mayoral race through the use of fraudulent ballot creation and counting techniques is indeed a worst case for Los Angeles. But not for the reasons in this piece.

Now that he need not be accountable to the corrupted city council or any other elected officials, Pratt will be free to be go absolutely scorched Earth on the Bass' and Raman's and their handlers of the city. They were worried about 5 months of oppo? Now they're gonna get it for years. Pratt will not give up and he will not give in; he's a man on a mission.

R H's avatar

Everyone with a brain could see this coming. I'll also be shocked if Hilton makes it to the runoff also (he has zero chance of winning even if he does). With no voter ID required and everyone being sent a mail in ballot, you can't stop it. The bright side is California will get more blue and continue its death spiral. In the end, a boost for Republican midterms as more people around the U.S. begin to see Dumocrat corruption.

Ruth H's avatar

Next census will remove quite a few House representatives from CA. Illegals will not be voting in a federal election as much as before. Federal will bring election investigation. People by the thousands are leaving CA and heading to TX and FL. Dem corruption in CA will get investigated, but sadly not soon enough.

Hebrides' Eilidh NicDhòmhnaill's avatar

A death spiral that sees California as the world's 5th-largest economy for several years, behind the United States, China, Germany, and Japan, then in April 2025, new data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and the International Monetary Fund showing California's nominal GDP at $4.1 trillion, slightly surpassing Japan's roughly $4.0 trillion, moving California into 4th place globally, providing more than its fair share of Fed tax revenue.

NNTX's avatar

Hang in there. This is one race. Remember that the Dems/Left NEVER give up. We have to adopt that perspective as well.

Pratt ran a brilliant campaign which did not manage to outrun the steal (I am sure many of Raman’s “votes” are shams). But his spirit and fantastic videos state a truth. Truth is the clarion call that will ultimately be heard. One example is Rudy Giuliani, who lost his first campaign to the incompetent David Dinkins in 1989. Four years later Giuliani won handily.

Marilyn's avatar

Well how bad does it have to get before all of CA gets that message?

NNTX's avatar

Who knows what spark will lead folks to lose the blinders that hinder their ability to see reality? There is a famous Biblical passage in Isaiah (6 iirc) on this point. Subsequently Isaiah has a beauteous vision of God, and appoints himself as a prophet.

One never knows who and when truth tellers emerge that can rally others. I do think Spencer Pratt is uniquely gifted and pray he finds other ways to share his message of renewal for LA.

Dutchmn007's avatar

At this point give it back to Mexico.

Molly Gentry's avatar

LMAO! THAT'S THE BEST IDEA I'VE HEARD YET! ADIOS CaliFORNICATEia!

Bill Pieper's avatar

Universal mail-in balloting was created to facilitate ballot harvesting. That's all you really need to know about this election. CA national elections should be invalidated due to obvious fraud. So they will have no Congressional representation and no say in any national election because their election system is a threat to national security.

Bummer for them.

Kurt's avatar

The apparent level of brazen corruption in LA is staggering.

Sasha, love the article except for the last sentence. There is no “moderate” in this race. One is a no-talent hack Castroite, the other an economically ignorant Mamdani socialist. I’m so pissed at Rick Caruso for sitting this one out.

I am astounded that we all sit here like bobble headed dolls, when the election was CLEARLY rigged (25,000 ballots in a box and NOT ONE for Pratt? Sure, Jan) and just say "Ah well". This should be pitchfork and torch time -- have we ever had these people just spit on us more than this and laugh and expect everyone to do nothing? I really did not believe they would have the gall, but I guess all we will do is sit and whine. Not very satisfying and completely ineffective at a minimum.
