MTG will, most likely, be quickly forgotten. Outside of her district, I'm not sure she has any real support.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

She had only 20% support against Jon Ossoff, something that Trump privately informed her about several weeks ago. It’s why he didn’t endorse her senatorial bid. In my view she’s immature, too emotional, and unreliable. I’m happy to see her go. She has no future in politics.

Lady Mariposa's avatar

My guess is that she saw that and figured her best career move was to become a talking head on television. She knows that they fawn over conservatives who are highly critical of Trump. She could have been critical of Trump without sucking up to the left. She wants them to give her a lucrative job.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Another explanation is that the MAGA revolution no longer needs firebrands who want to make a revolution; MAGA now requires people who want to build the new order and know how to convince others to get on the train. That’s not MTG’s skill set.

Alice Ball's avatar

Exactly what Jeff Childers said on Coffee & Covid substack. Her skill set was critical but no longer needed.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

The pattern of legislators who make demands for big change (like Greene) has a fairly short shelf life. Our history is dotted with that personality type.

TheUnderToad's avatar

Similar to Lincoln's administration after the Civil War. Firebrands and the "tear it down" set are not as useful once the battle is done and priorities turn to rebuilding. As below, credit to Jeff Childers, C&C. e.g. Edwin Stanton, etc.

Aside: I'm not sure the battle is definitely over at this point.

Jln's avatar

Oh she will end up with a job on some network, mark my words. Of course, she will fail and then the Left will turn on her. Wait for it.

Papi B's avatar

I agree with you Sasha on most everything but you’re wrong on this one. MTG blew it. Trump is the winner and MTG will be seen as a fool duped by the left. MAGA is much bigger than MTG or any other fool who attempts to break it. MAGA is the revolution.

Neil Kellen's avatar

She is probably all those things. I don't know her enough to conclude for certain, but it sure seems that way.

JJoshua's avatar

💯

She’s an idiot and the right’s AOC. Bah-bye!

234's avatar

Did you (or Trump) feel that way when we needed her vote?

CStone's avatar

Did she feel the way she does when she needed HIS backing?

It goes two ways. She stabbed him in the back after he told her how low her numbers were.

She’s the white version of Jasmine Crocket. Loud, obnoxious, vulgar.

Georgia doesn’t have a high opinion of her.

**edit**

Did she feel that way when she needed his backing **WHEN SHE WAS A NOBODY AND WAS RUNNING FOR CONGRESS IN THE FIRST PLACE???

No. Only when he said “Not again. You cannot win.”

234's avatar

They disagreed my friend, and Trump doesn't tolerate ANYONE who disagrees. It's he who stabbed her in the back after she gave undying support, I hope I'm wrong, but you 'forever Trump' blindness will be our undoing.

CStone's avatar

Not true.

He told her that she had no chance of becoming a senator. He doesn’t back losers, and she is as unpopular in Georgia as she is nationwide…..the white version of Jasmine Crocket. She is loud, obnoxious and trashy.

She got very angry when he told her the truth!!!! She went on The VIEW……that tells you all you need to know about her. Trashy.

She was married, had an affair with a married man who left his wife AND children because he saw $$$$ signs. If she stabbed her husband in the back, she’ll do it to anybody else.

And she did.

So, no. She stabbed PRESIDENT Trump in the back as soon as he told her the truth.

234's avatar

How do you know she wants to become Senator? Did she tell you, and no one else? And if she told you, you must be close to her. Is this how you treat people you're close to, stabbing them in the back?

Do you hate everybody, or just your miserable life?

Jln's avatar

Trump is the President, he spoke to her privately and told her she could not win. She took it to the streets and turned on him publicly. She will learn what Hillary and all of them did, you cannot beat Trump.

Boze's avatar

No, not 'forever Trump' blindness. He's pulling us away from the nightmare that has been the past 75 years of the undermining of our nation, especially the economic hollowing-out. We just have to get through these four years without the MTG-type traitors, wacko seditionists (Mark Kelly) and general Democrat liars throwing the whole country into the abyss. Doesn't anyone here remember what life was like under the Biden Regime, for crying out loud!? Holy moly, our country is in such a precarious position; apparently, most Americans don't realize how on the edge we are of being foisted into a civil war/color revolution, manufactured by the Soros/British Crown/City of London/Euro Plutocracy/Democrat Elite evil consortium. Seriously. They are pulling out all the stops to keep Trump and his Administration from completing the American divorce from the Neo-con, forever wars, New World Order ogres. MTG has been either bought by them or was always their pawn. I feel zero pity for her, what a horrid woman.

Buff McCharen's avatar

I think you're right on!! I voted for Trump but I'm NOT a forever Trumper. His foreign policies suck. Whatever happened to his promises to get us out of Ukraine and keep us out of foreign wars?

Boze's avatar

What foreign wars? We are not at war. A 28-point plan to resolve the Ukraine War has JUST been put out there, where have you been, listening to MTG? Trump and his team of mediators have brokered peace all over the world, and you're complaining? Rome wasn't built in a day, and there are a lot of enemies trying to thwart Trump's efforts to get out from under the perennial control from Britain, the British Crown, The City of London bankers and the EU elite. THEY are the ones that are frothing for war in Ukraine, not Trump. Get real.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

You're opposed to his ending 8 wars? Wow.

CStone's avatar

DemonicRATS and RATS who ran as Republicans (RINOS-because they can’t win when they run as what they really are….. RATS) would have more of their corruption exposed. RATS spread their disease everywhere.

It’s called STDS-SystemicTrumpDerangementSyndrome. (Got that from another substack, lol.)

Elaine Eike's avatar

Trump has not given up on Ukraine. What foreign wars are we currently involved in?

Boogie's avatar

After undying support? If the support never dies nothing can come after it. That's logic. That's reason. Your comment suggests you have neither. Could you please go somewhere else with your stupidity? It's not welcome here.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

that makes no sense when you think about his meeting with Mamdani. Clearly Trump and Mamdani have almost nothing in common, and yet....

Jln's avatar

I’m sorry he’s the President, she’s just some chick and she’s going to learn what HRC learned the hard way.

MTG is insignificant. I forgot about her already.

JJoshua's avatar

I've always felt that way about MTG.

Jln's avatar

She was clearly still in the closet.

RSgva's avatar

Exactly. I think many of us supported her, looking past her embarrassing flaws, just because she boosted Trump with enthusiasm.

Brian M's avatar

So did Amarossa, so long as it benefited her personally

Bill Beshlian's avatar

I agree Neil. This is her 15 minutes.

Bonnie J. Toomey's avatar

MTG isn’t funny. She doesn’t possess likability, in my opinion. She does speak to the rot in DC as you point out Sasha, but she sounds like all the others who are career politicians and more interested in power than serving Americans. She will not be able to stand against a formative foe like JD Vance.

Brian M's avatar

I remarked elsewhere there must be something in the water in Florida/Georgia that can produce two narcissistic conservatives like Matt Gaetz and MTG. Both were unproductive in Congress. She will not be missed. The new Liz Cheney

CStone's avatar

She’s the white version of Jasmine Crocket.

Seva's avatar

You’re absurd. You live in the Trump Cult bubble and are blissfully unaware of what’s happening in the society and world you live in.

Neil Kellen's avatar

And there we go...someone gives a different opinion and you attack them personally.

What evidence do you have that she is widely supported outside of her district?

I'll wait.

Seva's avatar

I’ve seen recent news reports of the huge loss of support for Israel among republicans, especially the young.

Neil Kellen's avatar

I asked about MTG.

Still waiting...

Seva's avatar

MTG is telling you why this has happened. She says this is why we most likely lose the House in the midterms. No doubt about that.

JJoshua's avatar

News flash

If the GOP loses in the midterm it will be because of the economy and no jobs. That blame will go squarely on Trump. It also goes on the sitting President.

Faith's avatar

It's an uphill battle for the midterms anyway....Hopefully Trump focuses laser-like on the economy.

Hebrides' Eilidh NicDhòmhnaill's avatar

Prolly more affordability. Those Trump tariffs are doing what they were predicted to do - raise consumer prices and fan inflation just as it was trending lower month by month beginning April 2024 - https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/inflation-cpi

Tariffs are a double edge sword and killing the Trump admin. One on hand, tariffs are Trump's super power, allowing him to bully nations the world over. On the other, his economically depressed, low to no savings heartland voter base is being crushed.

Buff McCharen's avatar

It IS about Israel!!!

Boze's avatar

You're under the psy-operation.

Kip 🇺🇸🇮🇱🟦's avatar

That's true. She's a Jewhating asshole and so are her supporters.

Mathew David Peckinpah's avatar

There is a lot of frustration of young far right activists (TPUSA) with Israel for not formally declaring sovereignty over Judea-Samara and Gaza. These folks Christian Zionist and want Hamas totally destroyed.

Jonah's avatar

All decent people think Hamas should be destroyed. What positive function do they serve?

Brian M's avatar

Hamas = Terrorists. Terrorists must be removed from anywhere they are found, like Trump decimated ISIS and is currently decimating the Latin American drug cartels

CStone's avatar

As they should be.

Boze's avatar

Israel has awful leaders, no doubt. But Israel cannot be the pivot point for our country. They are not worth it. Israel is a creation of the British Empire, due to their meddling in the Middle East in the early part of the 20th Century. They are the original instigators of trouble there. They also have created massive trouble in the US, feigning to be our "allies". Their bankers in the City of London connived to help create the Federal Reserve (a private bank with 12 branches), and also played a key role in pulling in the US into both World Wars. Stop letting Israel be the reason that you pull away from Trump. Israel is not worth our country being pulled into a civil war.

JFB's avatar

That is true, and she may be trying to ride that pony, but she doesn't have the subtlety to survive that debate.

Heyjude's avatar

Norman Finkelstein and John Mearsheimer said so, right?

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

And surging support for Nick Fuentes.

Boze's avatar

Nick Fuentes is controlled opposition.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

I've wondered about that many times especially since he appeared out of nowhere and very quickly. I think I'd have heard of him prior to his interview with Carlson, but no, that's was the first time I'd ever heard of him. I ignored him then and never did listen to his Carlson interview. But suddenly, he's all over the Internet, as well as having around 5 million followers? This can't be organic.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

So who exactly is maga? What is maga? Or is there now good maga and bad maga. MTG finally gets her picture in the dictionary under WHITE TRASH

Bill Beshlian's avatar

I’m used to it Neil. I have two words for you Matt Gaetz. We haven’t heard much on the national scene from him lately. Trump doesn’t need his disruptors anymore he’s into the next phase.

Marilyn's avatar

Matt Gaetz has his own program on OAN News, and he does a great job there!

Bill Beshlian's avatar

I need to check it out

234's avatar

Easy answer....one stop with Megyn Kelly.

There, that wasn't a long wait, was it pumpkin.

LDiaz9's avatar

You Seva, are living in the, “Trump Bad” bubble. You my dear, are completely unaware of how everyday Americans really feel. Even worse, you're completely unaware of how many Latino Americans (like myself, family, and friends) support Trump and what he's doing. Unfortunately, you are in a radical liberal cult and refuse to accept it. I was once in your cult but fortunately escaped. I pray that someday soon you can escape too.

JJoshua's avatar

Haha please vote for her then

R H's avatar

She's the next Liz Cheney. There's a great meme out there somewhere showing her picture in 4 closeups changing into Liz. It's pretty funny. Another person that try's to destroy Trump but actually destroys herself in the process.

Boogie's avatar

MTG/s fifteen minutes of fame is in late innings.

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

Sorry Sasha. Marjorie will fade into obscurity with her ill gotten insider trading $22 millions she learned at Nancy’s knee and her for life congressional pension that vests two days before her resignation date. Hey, she could have resigned one day after vesting, but she didn’t because that’s how much she cares about the country. She was all about herself.

Running for president. That’s a good one.

She’ll become the Liz Cheney of 2026. Used, discarded and irrelevant.

Rick Miller's avatar

Methinks a chat with her high school girl friends would reveal they all saw this coming:) Circumstances reveal character, not the other way around:). Another well done piece. Blessings, safe travels, and thankful for discovering you this year:)

234's avatar

She was a loyal soldier who has morals and integrity. It's shortsighted to jump to conclusions without knowing her true motive. And where did you get this $22m insider trading accusation? Seriously, you should bring evidence with charges like that.

Maybe, like Trey Gowdy, she's fed up with government, has done her job, and she returns to private life like the Founding Fathers intended.

Maybe sitting on committees with imbeciles Jasmine Crockett, AOC, and Maxine Waters has worn her out.

If she's really trying to be head of MAGA she's be much smarter to play the long game and wait out Trump, maybe vie for JD's VP and not do battle with Trump and alienate hard core MAGA's.

Either way, this is another stubborn Trump gaffe that we may all pay the long term price for.

Brian M's avatar

LOL!! Loyal soldier my a$$. MTG is self-serving narcissist. She supported Trump so long as it benefited her personally. There are always a few of these parasites in Congress.

234's avatar

The MSNOW comment section closed, princess?

TJ Hunt's avatar

Agreed, Brian.

Mary Fisher's avatar

If she cared about our country, she wouldn’t resign.

234's avatar

So 5 years grinding away in the House of Representatives means she doesn't care about our country? My bet is it's 5 years longer than you've served.

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

Terms are two years. Not one.

234's avatar

No shit sherlock?

Mary Fisher's avatar

Very true! But after doing all that, with so much money invested in her, to quit prematurely is not something I can admire. My first thought was to sympathize with her, maybe she just had all she could take? But my second thought was that it seems like a vengeful move and if she has enough fight in her to make that statement, then surely she could limp along to the finish.

234's avatar

Maybe it's best to withhold judgement and opinion until she divulges the real reason. My guess, she had her fill putting up with the likes of AOC, Maxine Waters, Eric Slowell, Jasmine Crockett, and many others.

She deserves combat pay.

Mary Fisher's avatar

Regarding, “ If she cared about our country, she wouldn’t resign”, I’ve thought more about it and regret saying it, because there are some situations where resigning is the caring thing to do. Also, with all the evil things that go on in this world, especially in government, it’s almost impossible to know, or stop, what is going on behind the scenes. You would need God’s help and very likely would end up as Charlie Kirk.

It is hard to make a good judgement with such limited facts as I possess. I can say that I wasn’t impressed with her resignation video, and I have felt repelled by many of her past speeches, but I haven’t listened to her much.

Cabogirl's avatar

If she cannot last there in the House then she will never make it four years as president … sorry.

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

Well she obviously has one undying supporter. Don’t stop believin’ but you might also want to gird your loins a bit to not be devastated by the fact she’s a performer and doesn’t really care about you in the least.

234's avatar

Easy there, Margaret. No need to lash out and make things personal, or are you aping Trump who cannot tolerate those with opposing views?

How much time did you spend in meetings having to put up with Jasmine Crockett drone on in her fake jive accent? Or AOC lecturing you on Socialism?

And what the hell does 'gird my loins' mean?

Christine Jones's avatar

“Gird your loins” is referenced in the King James Version of the Bible. We all need more Bible. Thanks, Unwoke in Idaho!

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

I’m doubtful that helps with his education as I doubt he even knows what the Bible is much less has read it or researches the phrase.

234's avatar

Why the hate Idaho? Make you feel good trashing nameless people with your keyboard? Kind of like yelling at the wind, isn't it?

All in the name of the Bible

234's avatar

Gird your loins on your own time, preferably not with a child or farm animal.

Christine Jones's avatar

Hilarious. Still didn’t Google the meaning of the phrase, I see.

Byron Manley's avatar

Very well said. I like your in a soft place. The pure hatred out there from both sides muddies up the waters. Hate first facts later or no facts at all. Never been in either party. That's to embarrassing! You'd be a fool to admit that. Follow those clowns. I think for myself and have since I was 5 years old. It's served me well. Good for you. MTG is ok in my book, a little nutz but mostly good person. She's just getting off the top hit list. Trump's wish hit list! Surprised he didn't put a bounty on her head. Maybe he did and she's feeling it. Doesn't want anyone else to get caught up in the hit! We are one shot away from civil war. Then you will really have to pick a side. Choose wisely fools. We the People are ready.

Dena's avatar

She’s too 10 in the beat the stock market. Getting her pension for life plus a multimillionaire ( check google or Ai of choice for the numbers)upon exiting office. Probably a nice book deal in the wings. She’ll be on the promotional book tour in time for midterms or 2028.

Les Jackson's avatar

MTG is a quitter. Pure and simple. Not finishing out her term is shameful. That is what she was hired for. Not having voicing her criticisms in private is highly unprofessional. I could add that perhaps she's also throwing a temper tantrum. Ar any rate, good riddance. And, never, ever, count Trump out!

Deidre K's avatar

Why the hell do congressmen get a pension after only 5 years?

Kathy Barkulis's avatar

I just can’t go along with her shit. She came into office worth $700,000. Now she’s worth millions. And she made sure to wait until she passed the time frame to get her life long pension.

234's avatar

Why would she resign days before her pension date? Would you?

And where's your evidence of "millions"?

Candis's avatar

I've known so many chicks like MTG. She was just waiting for that pension to vest, while she played games with anyone that even remotely took her seriously. But I'm 100% certain she wasn't taking them seriously. And she will continue to behave in this manner, most likely with a little more money and in more limited venues. She just showed the world who she really is. Believe her.

234's avatar

OK Karen.....whatever

Candis's avatar

Time will tell, hun.

Gary Suess's avatar

Reports are that this increase in net worth largely derived from her divorce settlement related to their construction company. You do understand that every single person in Congress effectively trades stocks with privileged information, but it’s infuriatingly not considered insider trading, right? Also, please see my comment above about Trump gaining billions with his crypto and now locking in enormous revenue from TrumpRX, which comes from his own EO.

Everyone in government, even desk workers do that. That’s the deep state. Teachers and professors same thing. Pensions for life, and unlike MTG’s, a great percentage of pensions approach what these people were earning full-time while working. They spike or “game“ their pensions with overtime and other tricks. It’s an unsustainable mess of government over-spending.

Kiley Artukovich's avatar

I believe she is playing a really stupid game. I like her, but she is certainly not going to be the voice of MAGA. She should know by now that Trump always wins these silly games people play with him.

You know Sasha, I'm a total news junkie and enjoy scrolling X whenever I get a spare minute. I watch Fox News (the real news coverage, not so much the pundit-hosted shows). But I completely missed the whole MTG drama. Why? It just didn't seem to register for any of the sources I follow. No-one cares. She is irrelevant. Conservatives need to run better candidates in the mid-terms and they will retain the House. No more mistakes like Hershel Walker, who was barely literate, or Winsome Sears. We just need to find normal people who like what Trump is doing (ending wars, reducing taxes, bringing back US manufacturing, eliminating woke ideology, promoting school choice, etc.) It would be catastrophic for the unhinged Dems to retake the House and destroy everything Trump has achieved. We simply can't let that happen.

MTG is another Thomas Massie, a fraud and a grandstander playing for the attention... Meanwhile collecting a life-time congressional pension and pocketing millions in insider trader money.. Not to mention how much she will get paid for becoming one of the "ladies" of The View .. Resigning in a huff was a good career move for her, and a big gift to the Left.

She's Marjorie First.

Brian M's avatar

Trump has a way of causing narcissist politicians who try to ride his back to reveal themselves. He can't be manipulated, for one thing. My favorite example is slimeball Anthony Scaramucci (the Mooch; with a nickname how can you ever be legitimate)? He lasted 4 days, I believe. It took Trump that long to correct his error, hiring a fellow NYC bro who he probably had encountered in the investor world

Pacificus's avatar

An excellent point.

AncientViking's avatar

Like Massie, MTG forgot that politics is the art of triangulation. If either of them ever knew it in the first place.

What bothers me is Trump walking into these traps lately. Like the dem set-up with this 'illegal order' vid. They know he would get all amped-up over it and make an unwise statement--and sure enough, he took the bait...

Pacificus's avatar

Marjorie is not concerned with "triangulation," she's concerned with Marjorie First... ask her ex-husband, whom she cheated on.

Yeah, Trump maybe walked into a trap with the illegal order video, but Trump was not wrong--that vid was a call for insurrection, no doubt about it. By an ex-CIA agent, who knows something about fomenting insurrections. That is The Story here, not Trump's reaction.

Trump says what he believes to be true, and doesn't give a shit about the consequences...He's not a "triangulator"... Kind of refreshing, really.

AncientViking's avatar

I think Trump is a great president and is standing as a bulwark against some really bad stuff happening. But--his biggest successes are from the times he triangulated--and his biggest slip-ups came about when he lost that focus.

I've worked on campaigns and been a political appointee. Those that always 'shoot from the hip', would invariably end up failed and unwanted. Even on K st.

Pacificus's avatar

Bill Clinton is the most famous/infamous "triangulator" in US political history--'nuff said.

Yeah, Trump, at times, is himself a triangulator, but he would not have achieved the success that he has if that was his go-to move. IMHO.

Jln's avatar

He did not take the bait, he did what he always did which is counter punch. You think Trump is worried about MTG? HRC, all the MSM, Obama, the Brits, the Chinese and the EU have not been able to bring him down, but you think MTG will?

Of course not, ask Nikki Haley, ask Hillary, ask Zelensky.

I’m MAGA and I could care less about MTG. Dont let the door hit you on the way out!

Marilyn's avatar

IF she does become one of the so called "ladies" on the View, then I may have to agree with you. That would be appalling.

Brian M's avatar

Mindi's avatar

MTG revealed who she is when she sidled up with Kevin McCarthy. And how much has her net worth increased since entering congress 🤔 The mask came off long ago.

Gary Suess's avatar

I hated when MTG aligned with McCarthy, but she was supporting Trump who was enthusiastically endorsing him. Johnson has probably proven to be worse, but surely not better.

It’s difficult to understand the logic of Trump supporters. He continually supports swamp rats like Lindsey Graham and now a communist mayor, but MTG is smeared for supporting his choice for speaker.

The accusations about mtg insider trading are circumstantial, but it is worth noting that insider trading isn’t even a thing for congress and every one of them does it. Also, Trump had gained billions since taking office through his own crypto and will reportedly make huge money from TrumpRX. I hate crony capitalism and insider trading, but why is only MTG demonized?

I fervently supported Trump since 2015 and still support him, but he is the one in the wrong here and for moving away from many campaign promises.

Brian M's avatar

When Trump thinks he is being played at his expense, he "kills" whoever attempts that. He has dealt with these parasitic types his entire career. He dumps them once it becomes obvious (Attorney Michael Cohen) they have put their own self-interest above his. It might seem sleazy, but it works for Trump. He comes from a rough and tumble business world where people stab each other daily. So he is unlike most Presidents in our history. You don't have to like the guy, but he is effective.

Hebrides' Eilidh NicDhòmhnaill's avatar

Interesting how Trump is always in the right and the trail of devastation he leaves in his wake is always wrong.

Hebrides' Eilidh NicDhòmhnaill's avatar

Politcal foes both inside and outside his admin, affordability vs the rich get richer and the maga heartland gets poorer... for starters.

Brian M's avatar

All politicians have opponents. Duh! Trump has already done a lot to help the lower economic classes. That is what the BBB did (social security, overtime snd service worker tax breaks). Now he wants to send rebates to the same group. He is negotiating $18T in new investment in America, an unheard of amount that will create a lot of construction and factory jobs. He wants to bypass the insurance industry to support low income earners on healthcare. You are pretty clueless

Alice Ball's avatar

Another antisemitic Jew-hating pretend-MAGA loser.

Gary Suess's avatar

So, this also suggests that he was or is clueless about Judas Pence, General Kelly, Mad Dog Mattis, Priebus, Wiles, Wray, Blondi, Lindsey Graham, Bolton, etc, etc.

Regarding MTG, he wasn’t being played. She was spot on expressing the views of a large percentage of his voters and her constituents. The common denominator between Massie and MTG is that they opposed Israeli control and funding. His admin conducted an Israel loyalty test for all admin hires, so this seems to be his redline to the chagrin of a dramatically expanding percentage of the population.

“Killing” a house member who has been one of the greatest champions of we the people and opposes AIPAC influence and control, only serves to reinforce the growing negative perception of him amongst his voters and drives another stake into the GOP’s chances in the 2026 midterms. As things stand now, and they got worse after this move with mtg, the do nothing GOP will get crushed.

I have ardently supported Trump since 2015 and still support him, but he has clearly veered off course. Endorsing swamp rats and commies, while trashing Patriot fighters, is a bankrupt strategy.

In defense of Trump, he is the survivor of many attempts at his financial and physical demise, and also he is a builder, so he knows the importance of money as a tool and shield. He doesn’t crave it like the formerly “poor”, because he has known great wealth all his life. Now he’s just thinking of the protection of his country, legacy and his family. I am puzzled by his moves, but it is politics, and he does need and want support, so he must have a good reason. One thing, he can trust conservatives and Maga supporters to be more reasonable than the leftists. Probably he is pursuing those who might be persuaded away from the left? I don’t know, but I do know that he needs a lot of prayer!

Amen, yes he does need our prayers.

In politics, "supporting" this or that individual is a show for the peanut gallery. Behind the scenes, it's much more ruthless and all about leverage.

He was polite to the mayor of NYC. He is letting Mamdani destroy himself. He isn’t supporting him. Trump is at his most dangerous when he is smiling the widest and is most charming.

Gary Suess's avatar

If this were true, Trump would also be allowing New York and the lives of New Yorkers to get destroyed while Mamdani is destroying himself.

Christopher B's avatar

What kind of magic wand do you think Trump has that can prevent it? NYC Democrats twice indicated they wanted Mamdani as mayor (primary and general elections). Them shitting in their bed is not on Trump. He was actively working to get opposition to Mamdani behind a single viable candidate.

He sticks to his lane. NY isn’t his to deal with until they ask him to. He isn’t allowing it. They chose it.

And another thing: what in the absolute fucking hell is congress doing giving itself lifetime pensions after only five years of service???

There's something you could have railed against, MTG--but, like all the other scumbags in DC, you chose to take the money.

JJoshua's avatar

MTG doesn’t realize the left will use her like they used McCain, Romney and all the other fools.

All this will do is make her lose support. Don’t let the door hit you ass hard enough on the way out. Bye Felicia 👋

Darrin's avatar

Methinks she knows this will happen but does not care. She is likely grasping for fame and notoriety. Bless her heart.

JJoshua's avatar

Yes probably. I would not be surprised if CNN and/or MSDNC offered her an “analyst” role on their teams. The would love the possible ratings. Lord knows they need it lol

I was at Megyn Kelly's tour stop in Georgia. MTG was at there. I did not like her going in and felt more strongly after MK interviewed her. This stood out: "President Trump has my number, if he wants to talk he can call me." The unrestrained self importance in that asinine thought says everything; he has to make the first move. Ha, just ask Elon about that!

It's quite convenient she is retiring just days after she'll be fully vested in the congressional pension but can't complete her full term. In addition to making herself extremely wealthy while in Congress and doing nothing legislatively, all of these things won't bode well for any kind of political future. There aren't enough people in her quarters to take down MAGA.

She'll link up with Tucker and get her own podcast. That's how she'll try to take down Trump. There's no way she's moving to NYC (The View) and CNN viewers won't give a hoot what she has to say.

There's that parable of the angels bundling the tares to be burned, and I wonder if MTG is being "bundled" with other antisemites now?

In any event I agree that whatever she's doing will come to nothing.

madaboutmd's avatar

Maybe. Anyone claiming she is the “most” America First person is very confused because her words and actions are that GOP will lose the midterms. How is giving it away purposefully America First?

michael holt's avatar

Of course it's not America First and "confused" doesn't begin to describe her. She's only clear about one thing: herself. She's MTG first, the political version of the "pick me girl."

MTG and others with consistent bias against Jews and thus against Israel cannot forgive Trump for not sharing their bias against Jews, and for seeing the value in America having a strong and reliable ally like Israel. No doubt tucker carlson will shortly have MTG on his show where the main topic will be Trump's "mistake" in continuing to align America's interests with Israel. Meanwhile tucker will continue to bank his BS with $$$ from Qatar, and will continue to put Iran, Russia, and Qatar first, while claiming Trump has forgotten his America first promise.

Please accept my apologies, as this is off topic.

The link below will take you to a letter written by a student at Texas A&M in response to a letter published in the A&M newspaper written by an anonymous professor in support of DEI. IMHO, the letter is spectacular, and deserves to be distributed further. The university declined to publish the student's letter.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Thank you for this! Saved & forwarded! We sent our daughter to a State University in 2010. She came out a very different person than who she was when she went in. Unhappy, victim mentality. Needless to say, we wasted our money & she is stuck in that same DEI/ WOKE victim world.

I like Jeff Childer’s (Coffee and Covid Substack) take on MTG. She was a good disrupter, not a consensus builder. Many appreciated what she did at the time she did it, but I think you will be hard-pressed to find her as some leader of anything… most MAGA people won’t take kindly to her friendly cavorting with the real enemy… the media, and even they will drop her as a hot potato when it suits them. If anything, she’ll become about as relevant as “Republican “ Ana Navarro.

Greene is a bit kooky but I did enjoy some of her more entertaining outbursts over the years. Now she will vanish into mostly obscurity, trotted out only by the Darth Cheney loving leftists, phony conservatives like Bill Kristol and other assorted and deranged haters of President Trump and his supporters. Farewell Lady. Enjoy your retirement with your ill gotten gains.
