Read the original you posted. This is much more powerful. Your cadence and tone highlight the points you are making. Please bring us more.

Yet another excellent piece. I had dinner last night with 10 people - I was the only one who didn't vote for Kamala. The whole dinner was about how Trump and Elon were going to destroy the world. Needless to say, I left early but only after drinking all of their wine.

Sasha. I could never enjoy Hamilton because I simply hate the unmusical nature of rap.

In the late 90’s, there was some really good ‘rap’ released that was still much tied to soul & jazz of the 70’s. I enjoy The Roots, D’Angelo, Common, A Tribe Called Quest. Most of these groups use real instruments to elevate their grooves.

No kidding. I'll take Rogers and Hammerstein. I was brought up on 1) Rogers and Hammerstein in grade-school, and 2) the Beatles after that.

But there is one "rapper" that I like: Jim Stafford. He was, once upon a time, the third-best song-writer in a band that went nowhere. Both of the others had number one hits: A Dog Named Boo (idiotic words) and Let Your Love Shine. Stafford never got higher than number four: Spiders and Snakes. But that's rap in the verses and true music in the chorus. A pure rap of his was Swamp Witch. Another is My Girl Bill.

I enjoy listening to all your podcasts. I also saw Hamilton years ago. Enjoyed hearing your take. I have also lost friends over Trump.

Sasha Stone! Spot on. They are only worried about being cancelled by their tribe and because they are afraid, we are all the poorer by their cowardice. Standing up to the people who spawned this catastrophe of greedy group think - please don’t take my livelihood, please - is real courage. And you got it, my friend. Keep it up. Your voice is so important.

You do a great job sorting through the ideologists pursuit of being "right." The vast majority of Americans don't want to wade through this "swamp of extremes." We have so much more to do and think about such as taking care of family and their happiness. Life is too short. Thanks Sasha for being a dedicated observer and journaler of the culture wars.

I never got the hype of Hamilton - and I grew up a musical theatre kid.

And I agree with other commenters - I loved your original post but this is a lovely way to take your content to the next step. I am very happy to support your work!
