A politically wise move... especially in an election year, and given that the ignorance of the masses should never be underestimated.

I, for one, viewed the meme as a pictorial representation of POTUS being a healer of America.

James O'Hara's avatar

I thought the same thing.

Hello Anthony S Burkett. To preface this reply, please know that my wife Karen and I support President Donald J. Trump and in fact every time we see Trump and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the same platform, we are reminded of Ezekiel 37. Furthermore, as Born-Again Christians we believe YHVH/God is using DJT & Netanyahu for a time such as this.

The problem is that DJT is "Scripturally-Stupid". DJT couldn't tell me the difference between the Books of Ephesians and Ecclesiastes. Therefore, in MHO if the 2nd Presidency of Donald J. Trump seeks Divine Guidance in decision making - DJT must fire Paula White as his "spiritual advisor". To reiterate, for the Trump White House to allow that distasteful - low class - spiritual rendering of DJT as some kind of a heavenly healer - demands Paula White be fired from the White House staff immediately.

That rendering is a disgusting display of Biblical ignorance on behalf of the Trump White House. Shame is an appropriate word for a time such as this.

Signed, Carl L. McWilliams - Western Colorado.

And hello to you as well, Carl... while I appreciate your viewpoint, there is little you've said that I find agreement with; not in my full support of all of POTUS' policies, not wrt your false and narrow-minded accusation of his Biblical ignorance, or in the shame of that meme.... and certainly not in any way agreeing with DJT's apparent support of Zionist Israel and their poster boy Netanyahu... I view our support of Israel in the conflict with Iran as a means to an end... that end being the removal of the theocratic regime of Iran and its IRGC as the Middle East's neighborhood bully, a murderous tyrant hell-bent on the violent subjection of the Iranian people, and a threat to the world at large... outside of that I do not lend support to the State of Israel's unmanaged aggression in the region... read up on the U.S.S. Liberty if you think Israel is without shame or guilt.

I think we can all agree (and DJT seems to agree) that it was a monumentally stupid and insensitive post. The man seems hellbent (so to speak) on proving even to us supporters that he can be a crude dufus.

I’ll still take him over anyone that the opposition seems to be able to scare up as a candidate for the office.

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

You're mistaken, we don't all agree... in my opinion, this is a nothing burger that's been blown completely out of proportion and set ablaze by religious fervor, stoked by the winds of political opposition. Whether he was wrong is a matter of opinion and perspective... I, for one, didn't take offense, but it appears that an appreciable number of his supporters have... that is their privilege and prerogative. I don't doubt that the meme was nothing more than purely political in nature, aimed at the TDS-infected leader of the Catholic Church... and politics was the cause for its deletion...But I'm not a politically minded individual, nor am I a religious zealot... and yes, I still support the man... warts and all... He may be a crude and insensitive dufus when it comes to political theater... but I'm not a fan of political theater either. And like I said in an earlier comment... those who have taken offense by that meme would make good Muslims... the mindset is the same.

@nickadamsinusa originally posted this on Feb 4. I have it in my Telegram but can’t find it on X. He may have deleted it. I believe he’s a pastor. “ America’s been sick a long time. President Trump is healing the nation”. Was the caption.

One thing you can be certain: the lapdog media will make the most of it, even though the post is gone.

I thought the same. As well as all Christ followers are called to place hands on one another and heal not just Jesus.

Cynthia Hutchinson's avatar

and Trump's "doctor" clothing? Looks a bit like Jesus Christ to me.

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

Just as an aside... to those who were offended by the meme... with that level of religious fervor, you'd make good Muslims.

I know... and along with the appreciation of satire goes the ability to recognize a good lampoon.... but for those who still appreciate and recognize... It's worth the effort...

Cynthia Hutchinson's avatar

ignorant thing to say, don't you think?

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

No... I don't think so at all... I see no difference whatsoever between hard-line Christians and devout Muslims... Neither group can accept views that differ from their own, and both react with spite and anger when faced with opposition to their viewpoints.

Now perhaps you'd like to elaborate on your criticism of my remark.

Cynthia Hutchinson's avatar

CHRISTIANS DON'T KILL YOU?

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

And if you're such a good Christian, then don't scream at me.

Anthony S Burkett's avatar

Christianity has a history just as violent as Islam... Christians have historically and currently resorted to violence to support their religious views. Throughout history, Christians have employed religious justifications for violence ranging from radical pacifism to crusades, utilizing sacred scriptures and theology to endorse practices such as slavery, colonial oppression, the Inquisition, and war. Christian teachings have been used to justify systemic violence, including racism, sexism, and capital punishment. Read the history of Christianity and then justify your previous statement.

What I think we are arguing about is the difference between intent and practice...

I think it's wise. I think I understood what he meant and was amused rather than offended (even though I'm pretty touchy by nature). But, a lot of people didn't get it and were genuinely offended. I truly believe he deleted it NOT from fear of losing votes but because under that blustery exterior - he is a kind man and doesn't want to pointlessly cause hurt (deliberately, sure, you bet - that's why he's been so effective with his cringy tweets and elsewhere).

JudyC's avatar

Truth be told, a LOT of people don’t get Trump’s humor. I personally think 99.9% of it is hilarious. I’ll never forget him working at McDonalds or arriving at a rally in a dump truck! But then again, I have a very sarcastic streak, so there’s that….

Betsy's avatar

I enjoy it too!

Domenic P Maturo's avatar

Good to you and your sarcastic streak! This world needs more of it! Tired of people being offended! Only sticks and stone will hurt yeah!

I'm glad it's gone, and although I'm a Trump supporter, I wish some one could rein him in.

Marilyn's avatar

You would think that his darling wife Melania would have some influence over him, but sadly, I don't think DJT waits long enough to consult her before he spouts off. I truly think he is a great man, but the way he reacts like a 2 year old to insults and perceived disloyalty is just astonishing sometimes! He could have won so many people with TDS over by just reacting like a mature adult. SIGH....

JJoshua's avatar

I think TDS is mostly incurable. It’s the rare case someone heals from TDS.

NWCitizen's avatar

That's his major characteristic is acting like a 2 year old. If he didn't do that, he wouldn't be trump.

With advancing senility comes advancing lack of inhibitions. Trump may already be as bad as Biden was in the middle of Trump's first turn. And one we get going it only accerates.

Now excuse me while I go and read something intellectually stimulating ...

I’m amazed at the speed of response to the people. Can’t remember the last president in my lifetime that was as connected as this one is - and actually listens.

The hypocrisy is INSANE. Anyone remember papier-mâché Obama Jesus? No? What about chocolate Obama Jesus? Anyone who thinks that the pope and the Vatican are not political is so ignorant I don’t even have words. Good, that was anti-Christ level imagery.

No, that would be a crucifix in a jar of urine.

Both examples are, Robert. Ask your priest or minister if you need a more authoritative perspective.

JudyC's avatar

So does that mean the libs are going to stop with the No Kings rallies and have a No Saints rally instead?! I’m truly sorry some Christians were offended (and I don’t think he meant it the way some took it) but I still get extreme amusement knowing the libs are frothing at the mouth over this!

Cynthia Hutchinson's avatar

they aren't frothing at the mouth mouth, they are smugly saying "I told you so."

NWCitizen's avatar

The evangelicals are largely on the right. I don't think many leftists are frothing at the mouth, they just think it's stupid.

Coriolis Effect's avatar

Donald Trump’s purpose is to end a 50-year long war which the IRGC has been waging on western civilization. Ending ‘holy wars’ is no small task because ideology and theology are strange and virulent bedfellows. Moreover, liberation theology is not holier-than-thou and its proponents are nevertheless obnoxiously pious; sanctimonious; self-righteous. Sunlight disinfects!

Marilyn's avatar

You can never end it !!!! There are too many of them, they have been instructed since birth to hate and kill anyone who does not fall in line with their "ideology". They don't play by our rules. Remember that movie American Sniper? Where our sniper had a man assigned to him to monitor every shot to make sure it was "justified"? And, if it wasn't justified, what would happen to our sniper? Oh, he might get court marshalled when he got back home, right??? Meanwhile, the terrorists were celebrated for every person they killed, no matter how that was accomplished.

Marilyn's avatar

P.S. And good luck to DJT to find a "nice guy" replacement for the Iranian leader they killed. If you are not cut throat vicious, you won't survive too long in those places, I suspect.

I compare Pres. Trump to the narcissistic biblical Persian King Nebuchadnezzar. But a warning to the president, God is not mocked, if he keeps this up he may have his own going mad and eating grass moment. Praying for our President and our nation.

Check this out! Again, Trump-AKA Daddy, was mocking Obama, not presenting himself as a Christ figure. The Left is so myopic and unable to connect the dots. What an empty cassock Pope Leo is. So disappointing! Bring back Pope Benedict.
