Complex issues often require strategic and complex thinking and solutions. And time. Like it or not Trump has:

1.) Reorderd how the world trades with the U.S. and putting the U.S. at the advantage.

2.) Achieved peace agreements for 8 or so global conflicts.

3.) Reordered how our allies and adversaries perceive the U.S.. We are feared by both. We are no longer seen as suckers.

4.) Reorderd the politics of the Middle East in our favor.

5.) Cleaning out the leftist/Marxist stench in our hemisphere.

6.) upended China and it’s malfeasance including its influence in our hemisphere and its energy strategy by not only controlling the oil of one of its former proxies, Venezuela, but now making Venezuela our proxy. Trump may achieve this in Iran. Let’s see.

Only some of our Presidents have managed to make a single big impact on history in four years. Trump has made 5 or 6 big impacts in 15 months.

All the left has is hate and lies. Sadly, that is enough for ~ 70 million.

VOTE in November. And tell your friends to VOTE.

And Trump has done this in spite of, not with the help of, the political 'elite' in DC.

The progressive ideology has dominated DC for at least half a century, and it is now collapsing. If the movement had any character, ethics or principles, it might have been able to thwart Trump. But the best they could come up with was Biden, Harris, and rigged elections. In some countries, that would be enough. Thank God it didn't happen here, but it was close. And it's not over yet...

Fact they, those Democrat minds can not think in complex terms, is exactly what caused. created, formulated and sustains TDS. If it wasn't trump it would something else. Infact , Indeed, it usualaly and normally is, it is. Always has been and will be.

They cant conceptualise, categorise, or put into perspective anything,

An independent observer's avatar

ST Forget about complex terms. AOC and current NYC mayor are perfect examples of democrats who cannot think in the most simple terms. Math and basics of economy are inaccessible to them. Remember when AOC boycotted construction of Amazon warehouse in her district, which would create tens of thousands of new jobs? And Mamdani is causing an exodus of people who make the city function and fund it. The damage they are doing to the fabric of our society and to the economy is so substantial they should be prosecuted were we to live in a “normal” state driven by common sense.

The mental meltdown of the mass media along with democrats in power depicts a really sad state of affairs. Add to this a few cases of insanity in the far right corner and we are back to the COVID craziness or George Floyd hysteria. I am honestly concerned that our socially is having too many psychotic episodes lately.

Mystic William's avatar

Getting an impeachment is nearly impossible. It requires 60 votes in the Senate. They can’t get that. That isn’t the way to get these.

LHuff8's avatar

That's a great idea, Martin! I'm going to do the same.

Brian M's avatar

What infuriates Democrats is Trump never follows through on his Doomsday threats so they can pin that on him and the GOP making their path back to leadership much easier. Instead, they continue to bash American patriots, the GOP and take the side of our enemies and rally for / support the foreign dictators who kill their own people. It is really an act of Treason that should be indicted and tried. The Left are the literal "Enemies of the State" of America and that has always meant prosecution in the past. When do they pay? At a minimum, we can make them pay at the voting booth in November.

I assume you are referring to the 1963 Community Mental Health Act. It was intended to replace the large, state run mental institutions with smaller community-based ones. The intent was to integrate such patients into society, Good intentions but it did indeed backfire—underfunded and poorly implemented. And yes, Reagan continued to cut federal support and inadvertently created a homeless population. I’m not sure, however, that that has much to do with distress over Trump’s advocating war crimes—whether part of “art of the deal” or simple bluster. I don’t see any of the folks Sasha cited as mentally ill. Do you?

Please tell me the Supreme Court Case you are referring to, I’m not familiar with it. I’m more familiar with the 1976 ruling in Estelle v Gamble on the Right to Mental Health Treatment. In that the Supreme Court ruled that “deliberate interference” in the medical needs of prisoners, including mental health needs was “cruel and unusual punishment” as prohibited in the 8th Amendment.

Oh, it may be O’Connie v Donalson! That was the case of a man who had been involuntarily confined for almost 15 years despite being of no danger to himself or others and having family willing to care for him. “Dangerousness” was the criterion. The state cannot confine someone simply because they are mentally ill.

Not sure what your definition of a “Noemi’s” is. A significant portion of very high achievers are not “normal”.

Juju's avatar

Several of the people Sasha cited are mentally ill. It’s clear as day

Dorota's avatar

If they couldn't see that Biden and Kamala started the war in Ukraine on purpose, but now claim that Trump needs 25th amendment, they have to be mentally ill

The bipartisan (CA) Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act of 1967 signed by Gov. Reagan is California's mental health law governing involuntary civil commitment predated Kennedy. It authorizes 72-hour (5150 hold) and 14-day (5250 hold) detention for evaluation and treatment of individuals deemed a danger to self, others, or gravely disabled. The act established legal rights and due process for those in treatment.

Beak Warner's avatar

How can a bill signed in 1967 predate Kennedy's 1963 actions?

BradK (Tuckered out)'s avatar

1975 was certainly an inflection point -- THE inflection point -- in how we as a society approach mental illness. Remember when everyone walked out movie theaters that year, balling their eyes out over poor Mr. McMurphy and Big Chief at the hands of that psychopathic Nurse Rached?

"We must put an end to these medieval institutions!", they cried. End they did, and the loonies have been roaming (and shitting on) the streets for five decades. Another progressive "victory".

Mark Kennedy's avatar

(?) I read Trump's words as a reiteration of the threat to take out civilization's infrastructure--Iran's bridges, power grid, etc.--exactly the targets he's mentioned before. There's no mention of genocide or nuclear weapons. Historically, the rise of civilization is coextensive with the rise of urbanization, written records, foreign trade, etc., and when your cities go dark and commerce grinds to a halt, you're surviving but you aren't enjoying the fruits of civilization. Trump is warning Iran's leaders that life is about to get very difficult for their country, not that he's going to slaughter everyone in it. How many times can you get away with crying "Wolf" before everyone else simply writes it off as a pathological reflex?

Oakley's avatar

That's what I thought too. Thank you putting it in to words.

The Dems have cried wolf so long that they forgot what a wolf looks like

Mark Kennedy's avatar

I think for them it has red hair.

Juju's avatar

Exactly this. Ending a civilization is not ending lives. It’s ending “civility”. Period.

Mark Kennedy's avatar

The link between civilization, cities, and what we think of as citizenship ('civitas') is quite explicit. Here's Google on the subject:

“Historically, what historians traditionally define as "civilization" is largely coextensive with urbanization, meaning the rise of the first cities is considered the defining urban phenomenon of complex societies, occurring around 3000 BCE in places like Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Indus Valley, and China. These early civilizations were organized around densely populated urban centers, which served as hubs for social stratification, specialized labor, government, and writing. A civilization is commonly defined as a complex society characterized by state-level organization, social stratification, and, fundamentally, urbanization (the concentration of populations in cities). Ultimately, while early humans had settled in villages (Neolithic) for thousands of years, the leap to "civilization"—with bureaucracy, class structure, and monumental architecture—typically occurred when those settlements became cities.”

Neolithic people lived in societies, but we don't call those societies civilizations. In effect, threatening to erase civilization's infrastructure and to “bomb people back to the stone age” amount to the same threat. It isn't a death threat, just a serious lifestyle change warning.

R H's avatar

Trump knows full well that so many Iranians are actually cheering him on because they want the regime gone. He’s NOT looking to slaughter them all, he’s looking to free them. The deranged Left never looks at the big picture or even a little context. He was speaking to the IRGC who doesn’t have any respect for weakness. I’m pretty tired of all the hypocritical Pearl clutching. Trump has no track record of slaughtering people.

Dena's avatar

Neo Conscious's avatar

Yes, taking out their power plants would lead to a complete meltdown of the civil structure of the country, and if the regime continued to refuse to de-nuclearize and de-militarize, the country would soon be be irreparably damaged.

The progressive left continues to make fools of themselves, time and time again. Trump was never going to use a Nuke on Iran. I'd bet money that was a deliberately planted psyop ruse that Trump made believable by his Easter rant, then the progressives, neo-cons, never trumpers, and MSM went bonkers about impeachment, 25th amendment, psychotic in the Whitehouse etc., which only made the threat more believable. Must gall them to look in the mirror tomorrow and realize that they played a vital role in handing Trump another win. Now we also have a updated list of fools to refer to as needed, self-annoited intellectuals like Bill Kristol, etc. Hope they enjoy fried crow for breakfast.

A few power plants and bridges would be sufficient to destroy the civilization.

But the lefts "minds" read that as nukes.

Remember Hurricane Helene? Wiped out I-40 between NC and Tennessee. It was said that it would take years to replace it.

Apparently the Trump administration got it done in five months.

Bomb the mullahs out of Iran and Trump would have the power on in days and have the bridges all fixed in six months.

Oh ... i read that there is even discussion in Iran of abandoning Tehran because of the lack of drinking water.

The civilization is destroying itself

MichaelH: Storyteller's avatar

I like how you put the word MINDS in quotations. I like to say that leftist/liberal logic is the greatest oxymoron of our time.

I live in the great state of Western North Carolina. There are areas that Hellene absolutely devastated but were back up and running in record time. But a lot of the better action didn't come for a long time. I remember that idiot harris going to Charlotte and claimed to have seen the devastation. I also remember many of the officials here telling poopy pants joe not to come because they didn't have enough people to accommodate security if he came. The truth is he would just be in the way. He probably would have tripped over a tree limb and broken a hip.

I also remember Trump using his jet to bring in supplies and Elon Musk brought a large number of Starlink phones to get to people who were trapped so they could talk to loved ones and get needed supplies. THEY made a difference. FEMA under poopy pants did little to NOTHING to help.

Sorry for the rant. The topic just brings up some serious anger over that administration's lack of effort at that time.

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

The left pitched a hissy fit when Bush flew over New Orleans after Katrina instead of visiting on the ground.

But like you said, he would just be in the way and he knew it

MichaelH: Storyteller's avatar

I remember that now that you said something. Not to mention just how dangerous it is on areas after so much destruction.

That's just another shining example of how no matter what good is done by a conservative the leftists will find fault. It's that constant negative mindset they have.

Emumundo's avatar

Biden’s FEMA was unhelpful to say the least. I have ties to Western North Carolina and those people know how to fend for themselves and help their neighbors. That’s God’s country. Hard working, salt of the earth. To Biden it was just another catastrophe where he was going to leave Americans twisting in the wind. After all, the FEMA money was gone. He used it bring illegals anonymously into our country. And now we have to shelter them and support them. Lahaina, East Palestine, Asheville? Not so much. I do miss Flowering Bridge though…

MichaelH: Storyteller's avatar

I have avoided going into Assville like the plague. It is the on eyesore of Western North Carolina. Sadly, the leftist mentality is starting to trickle into the surrounding areas. There are many in those areas pushing back hard against those influences. We do NOT want the depravity of that mentality having ANY part of our day to day lives. There has also been a "resurgence" of sorts of conservative minds re-populating the outer fringes of Buncombe county where Trashville sits. The hope there it to return at least some sort of conservative influence back to the area.

I know a number of people who were born and raised in Asheville. Their teen years were primarily in the 80s and early 90s (gen x). They are part of the group of people I know who refuse to go into the city anymore. They say it hurts to see the decline that the leftist mob has brought to the city, so they just don't go anymore. Not to mention that you can NOT go into the area without being armed. The crime rate and physical attacks on people have gotten out of control. And IF/WHEN someone is arrested they get a slap on the wrist and sent home. Their is no real justice for victims of crime there anymore thanks to the liberal government i the city. It is truly sad.

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

Roads and bridges have been used since the Roman times as a means to facilitate the mobilization of troops

Bridges are a military device and they are FAIR GAME.

When Eisenhower was in the European theater,he drooled over Hitler's Autobahn which was designed for the same reason and thus we have the Eisenhower interstate system.

By liberal "logic", anyone who drives or travels as a passenger on a limited access highway is a Nazi.

Note: what if TACO Tuesday has a strategic effect.

With all the videos of people lining up on bridges and around power stations, Trump announces a cease fire.

They go home and when the bridges are clear of people, he takes them out.

The IRGC has no electricity to fire missile, communicate between units etc. They are sitting ducks

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

Well. To be honest, it was September 28 and all federal money is spent by September 30.

Every federal agency is out of money the end of September

MichaelH: Storyteller's avatar

That really shouldn't have been a factor. The issue was that the coffers were empty because the biden administration had payed out the FEMA funds to house illegals that he allowed to flood into the country. Had that money not been spent on NON-citizens, we would have had more money to help with relief efforts after Hellene. There is supposed to always be a emergency reserve of cash to help when the fiscal year has ended to help bridge that gap to when a new budget can be put in place. There were a number of other emergency reserves that biden depleted while in office

Like the gas and oil reserves he sent to Ukraine, along with a large amount of our military surplus which was intended to be used for OUR defense of the mainland.

Bottom line is there were a lit of blinders (I believe it was more intentional) that left us short on a number of our emergency resources during that administration.

Kamas716's avatar

They all need neck braces from the whiplash.

First, Trump didn't say anything about nuking Iran. That it was the first thing they went to says more about them than it does Trump.

Second, the "civilization" mentioned wasn't clarified. I took it to mean the Islamic regime that came to power with the Ayatollah's in 1979, not the Persian civilization that predated it.

Finally, Trump uses hyperbole a lot. That the MSM and the Never Trumpers haven't figured that out yet after all these years tells me that they shouldn't be given any regard.

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

A handful of bridges and turning out the lights would destroy that civilization.

Trump is a builder. He can rebuild the bridges in weeks like he did I-40 After Helene

Free Will's avatar

They wanted boots on the ground and another twenty year war. They wanted as much death as possible for US soldiers and Iranian civilians. Anything which might help them win the next election is a good thing. They were the same way after they murdered Charlie Kirk and tried to murder Presudent Trump, at least twice.

They were the same way when their own trolls were killed attacking ICE agents. The swamp is a death cult.

MichaelH: Storyteller's avatar

I think the looney leftists would rather we drop millions of dollars worth of military equipment and munitions and let the regime have it like poopy pants joe did in Afghanistan.

I also find it incredibly idiotic for these technicolor fools to support a regime that would put them to death faster than anyone else because of their screwed up life styles.

MichaelH: Storyteller's avatar

Most comments have already said most everything I had in mind to say. The only addition I might add is that these whacked out white leftists have been brainwashed into believing that having pride in your country is a bad, evil thing. They have had it drilled into their heads by other whacked out white leftists that the United States was founded by racists and our government is based on racist ideology.

Were there racists involved in our fight for independence from England? I'm sure there were. Racism had existed since civilization began. And I have news for those whacked out leftists, slavery was not created in the American colonies. And, slavery is STILL being practiced TODAY in places they claim are free of such atrocities, but NOT here. (Not legally anyway.)

Trump knows how to push the buttons of his detractors. And he enjoys the hell out of watching them lose their sh!t. It's has to be his 2nd favorite past time behind golf.

He says things that make ME do a face-palm. But, I know the game he is playing with the media and all those on the left who start screaming at the sky when he does it.

I am hopeful this agreement with the Iranian regime will actually happen and the regime will be weakened to the point that they lose control of the government and the thumb they have had the people of Iran under is chopped off....PERMANENTLY.

Ohbummer talked a big fight when it came to foreign affairs. I believe that, in truth, he supported the efforts of some of those evil/bad actors like the use of chemical weapons in Syria. He did so much damage to our country. When he was SUPPOSED to be this great leader who was going to bring everyone together, he sowed discord and set race relations in the county back 50 years. Racial tensions in the country were at the calmest I remember seeing in my lifetime during the late 80s into the 90s and early 2000s. It wasn't until he got into office that things started going rancid. He was one of the most harmful presidents our country has ever had. He wasn't stupid, like poopy pants joe. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing. It was the goal.

... Obama, like Clinton, was the democrats' curated candidate ... awfully good on the campaign trail and listened closely to the unelected ... able to kick that can down the road with ease ...

Unfortunately we plebes are always kept in the dark about what is really going on in faraway places, especially during warfare.

The only things we can predict with certainty, the TDS afflicted are going to scream about Trump, even to the point where they are hoping for a humiliating and tragic outcome for the US, Israel and the entire planet.

Likewise, we know there will be absolute diehard Trump supporters that believe everything has been preordained, Trump can do no wrong, and, the scariest, people who sincerely believe this is necessary to bring about the second coming of Christ.

Both extremes are insane and unhelpful, to put it mildly.
