Meh. The Democrats won in states they have voter registration advantages in - and, in fact, most of the races were far closer than they should have been.

I know the mainstream media / DNC Communications Office (but I repeat myself) are spinning this as some great repudiation of Trump and the GOP - but take a step back and look at what actually happened: The Democrats beat back Republican challengers in Democratic strongholds. New York, New Jersey, California. Retook a governorship and AG in Virginia that the Republicans only managed to win because of the Democrats' war on parental rights an election cycle ago.

Yawn.

The Democrats' path to retaking the U.S. Senate or even the House next year is ... unlikely at best (although I never underestimate the possibility of the Republicans doing something truly stupid).

And even in California, what did the Democrats actually gain? By pretending Texas wasn't redistricting to match California, New York and Illinois' own existing radical gerrymandering, Newsom managed to motivate North Carolina, Missouri and Indiana to follow his lead - all but erasing any Democratic gains in California. And since Democratic-controlled states are already so heavily gerrymandered, there aren't really any more Democratic seats to fabricate.

Look for more red states to now jump into the game and add a net gain of Republican-leaning House districts before next year. (And pending lawsuits against California Prop. 50 may upend it yet - the language is openly partisan, in violation of the state Constitution, and the Legislature openly ignored rules requiring a bill be introduced and finalized in time for all legislators to have time to study it.)

If Prop. 50 is overturned while the Republican redistricting stands up in court, don't think other Democrats won't hold Newsom to blame for that mess ....

VA is a special case because of all of the unpaid federal workers in NoVa, who are already predisposed to blame the GOP for all of their ills.

That's another aspect - New York, Illinois and California are all set to lose seats following 2030 census. Not sure how having a bunch more minority members in the House helps the Democrats ...

Women voted overwhelmingly for Jay Jones. Really? A man that says out loud he wants to watch a child die in their mother's arm because their father is Republican. Women in this country are quite literally insane. What kind of a human does that?

These idiots will be well represented.

Knew this would happen. The Republicans are busy trying to clean up messes that most people don’t really care about because they involve rational thought and a close look at the rule of law. But honestly, did anyone expect VA & NJ to go red?

The White House and Republicans in Congress need to learn to play the game better - although it will be hard with MSM totally in the pockets of liberals and without the mobilizing power of Charlie Kirk.

With MSM the answer is simple. Destroy them. Eliminate their ability to propagandize. Do it by whatever means possible, short of violence. The courts work great. Court-shop, like the Left does, to get the most favorable venue and then sue them until they are bankrupt, like Trump has taught

I have read "The Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich". Every page. I have read "I Will Bear Witness" by Victor Klemperer. Every page. And I am frightened. The Communists control the media and the educational system from kindergarten through college. I am a Psychologist/Scientist, and I understand the power of indoctrination and 24/7 propaganda. Like Josef Goebbles said, you can tell a lie 1000 times, and it becomes the truth. Scientists call it The Principle of Illusory Truth. That is why the young people can support something so absurd as Islam. And why John Brennan can lie into your face about the existence of the Hunter Biden laptop. I have a copy of the contents, published by Marco Polo. (now scrubbed from the Internet). And the first pages are the forensic analysis, signed and sealed, because they knew it would be challenged.

I moved to Vermont to help the kids with the grand kids, and I read the local papers. So I find little comfort in the relatively small group of educated people that constitute Sasha's audience. Vermont has two groups that dominate state politics: Liberal and Progressive. That's right. Liberal is not Left enough. You should read the contributions of the citizens. Yeah, and they loves their Bernie. It's sickening.

Mao said: "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." Our own Communists understand this. They rid themselves of that pesky Charlie Kirk who was getting in the way of their indoctrination efforts, and Trump lives only due to a random miracle. 3rd Reich revisited. Do you remember the bilateral commission that was going to get to the bottom of that assassination attempt? Yeah, right. We are only a few centimeters away from a Kamala Harris presidency. And after 4 yrs. of a senile mannequin masquerading as a POTUS. You had a puppet POTUS and VP staring you in the face. Yeah, they can get away with that. And more.

It's naive to think that millions of illegal immigrants were chauffeured here out of benevolence. Instead, they were ushered in to protest and vote, illegally or not. That's why the Democrats are fighting so hard to keep them, and to eliminated standards for voting. So that their votes give the illusion of "Democracy". Have you been following the events in England? That's what you get from inviting millions of people with a completely different culture.

So yeah, I'm frightened. And I'm not convinced that this coordinated attack on our country can be fought with words. Didn't work for the Germans or the Chinese.

Nah, you don't need to usher illegals to protest and vote, too much work. I live in a Hispanic area with a high percentage of non-citizens, those protestors (predominantly white) never come here. You may think they protest ICE... but they prefer upper class, safe areas. As per voting, I'm a witness that people who swear they have never voted, have a voting record. It's sufficient to have somebody's name and address to register and vote for them. In the area run by the Democratic party elections and ballots are under their full control.

First indoctrination in schools

Then payments from all the NGO’s with taxpayer dollars to run around and protest whatever

I'm sad that my local city election didn't turn out the way so many residents fought so hard for change.

So it will be the same ol' crap at city hall and we can't stop fighting. We'll have to continue to go to ALL city meetings to keep an eye on them. In two years we'll have to campaign again for change.

It's so frustrating!!! 😡

It’s what the party is designed to do. Not solve problems. Manipulate the optics to make their party the savior. Republicans are rule followers and talkers. Democrats break every rule and lie.

Since Trump can’t run again and if the Dems win the house back in 2026 and the impeachments will begin Trump should turn Voight loose and destroy all the deep state he can. Yeah they will sue but since they will impeach anyway tell the courts to go f themselves. Declare an insurrection and turn the military loose. Just get the next Civil War over with for goodness sake.

If the DOJ just would prosecute ALL the many Dems who did truly illegal acts over the last 10 or so years AND get out to the public ALL the details of THE ILLEGAL ACTIVITY, before the midterms, that would be a help. As for a civil war, IF the Dems take Congress (esp. the House) next year, we need to start to divide the country in two, which will stop a lot of bloodshed from a civil war. Although with their constant love of bloodshed and death, I'd armor up anyway.

Blue wins in blue states. Yawn. What is new? The Left has been indoctrinating their base for decades to "activate" and hate their enemy before and during elections. What we see in off years like 2025, when the GOP does nothing to activate its base, is what happened tonight. Until the right gets as militant and relentless, and even drops competitive ethics to lie to its base about how evil and dangerous the Left is, nothing will change. Conservatives can no longer play the political game politely. A lot more animosity is required to win

I wouldn't read too much into it tbh. This particular batch of off year elections were universally the safest possible elections for team donkey. I mean, mayor of NYC? Governor of Virginia? New Jersey? These were all preordained. If anything, I'm heartened (and I can't believe I'm saying this because I despise the man) that Frey seems to be pretty safe in Minneapolis.

Republicans win one election and then go sit on their hands.

The Left never stops. This is their reason for being.

In boxing they say, "Kill the head and the body dies." With the murder of Charlie Kirk the urgency of personal get-out-the-vote disappeared because he was no longer there to lead it.

I've been telling people that the Deep State is still incomparably mighty and can still deal death. We saw it tonight from "sea to shining sea."

Get your heads out of your butts, MAGA! The Left is coming for you. Their bloodlust is a thirst which never dies.

Republicans and Independents HAVE TO to get their butts in gear and participate in EVERY election, at the bare minimum. They have to educate themselves regarding the issues and candidates on their ballots. Also, put in some time to canvassing and getting out the vote. There is no winning without that. Like Trump said : FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!

I think there is one factor that explains a lot of what happened. Four years ago the Demos had the White House, and now the Repos do. It's a version of the Mid-Term Syndrome: a way of voting against a disappointing President. (All Presidents are disappointing ...)

I am not sure what you mean about health-care and SNAP: were Trump's policies wrong, or were the Demos successful in misleading the public? Is the public in favor of giving Medicaid to illegal aliens? Which party voted not to fund SNAP?

I will say what I have (more or less) said before: the Demos (in their current form) only have to win once to put an end to democracy in America. It's just a question of what happens first: the Demos winning or the Demos being "re-fringed". The Senate races look promising: open seats where a Lefty Lunatic is likely to win the primary. Maybe that will lead to "re-fringing". Then again, maybe not ...
