Platner was already slipping in the polls and he was bringing down the Dem party brand, which is quite a feat, so the party decided to pull the plug just in time to name a replacement.

I always remind people that Hitler was a Marxist, even though he did not want to acknowledge it in public once he broke off his romance with Josef Stalin in 1940. Hitler's party was called Nationalsozialist (you can do the translation) which the acronym is NAZI. So Hitler created the Democratic Socialist of Germany party which leaned towards communism, complete with oligarchs (those he trusted to build and run the war machine), nationalist authoritarianism (also called fascism), devotion to State over religion and funding stolen from Jews (including their gold teeth during the Holocaust).
I’m hoping Platner doesn’t drop out and the Dems have to contend with the optics and not get to pull another Biden switcheroo.
