My wife loves going to the movies and I am always reluctant at best, but I initiated going to see the show today. The popcorn was very good, and the movie was great for me. It was a glimpse into another world of opulence and consequence, where there is meaning to life and all the activities. There was gravitas and depth mixed with humor and playfulness. From a poignant visit with a former captive of Hamas and a visit to a cathedral to light a candle on Melania's mother's anniversary of her passing to light-hearted moments with Donald and Melania's much more attractive dancing to the YMCA anthem backstage, there were meaningful vignettes presented. Overall, I think the film resonated with patriotic Americans who value family and loyalty and devotion. These are the themes that connect an extremely extroverted billionaire and his reserved and incredibly beautiful wife to those non-elite hard-working Americans that make up his base. These people live their values and have no need to signal virtue because sacrifice and integrity is not for honoring one's self.

I love this, Willie. Your reflections here give me hope, courage, and gratitude that this country is filled with persons like you.

Melania is EVERYTHING they wish they could be. A brilliant shining example of grace under fire. Poised and confident, beautiful and classy. Wealthy but humble. You show them Melania, without saying a word. I can’t wait to see the movie!! 🍿

Danimal28's avatar

Agreed, Debby. She has all the power to be Cruella and is the most graceful 1st lady we have probably ever had. Ranks up there with Dolley.

Te Reagan's avatar

She was an Epstein’s girl. Trump probably paid for her. Now, she thinks she is Cher. lol

Ahh TDS is alive & living in the heads of liberals & their followers everywhere. Can't expect an original thought from any of them.

Haha you wish. The more you hate her the more we love here.

When you say statement like that that in uncalled for, childish, a lie, and not at all funny, it tells how desperate you are for attention. So very sad.

Gym+Fritz's avatar

Same old lies, new package - and why Cher, of all people - self reflective?

Sorry dude there is no verified evidence that Melania Trump was an "Epstein girl". The left survives on shady innuendos. Keep it up, they're humorous.

What IS undeniable is that Kamala was a Willie Brown girl. A classic example of 'me too' that worked in reverse. And you voted for her.

The doormat is at your house :-)

234's avatar

Surprise surprise. Of course you hate her. She's everything you're not and never will be. And coming from the party of anger, hate, and violence, you are hereby requested to please not assassinate her or her husband.

Dav Eka's avatar

Te forgot her meds again. Too bad there are no meds for being a low IQ leftie drone.

Boze's avatar

Gosh, troll, no one agrees with you; I wonder why......no, I don't. It's obvious you're either here to troll or an algorithmically pathetic bot. Either way, your cold heart is missing out. Maybe you'll seek a thawing before you pass away....

Pacificus's avatar

You are one sick fuck, you know that?

Jim I's avatar

You need our prayers.

Debby's avatar

CHER???? Who the heck aspires to be a 79 year old plastic alien like Cher? She’s a nut job and her messed up daughter is trans. The absolute worst of all possible outcomes anyone would want for their children.

SuezCanal's avatar

Ah, Te, I'll bet you were lovely once. (And knew when not to use an apostrophe.)

cat's avatar

🤔I don't think Melania is all plastic surgery and filler like Cher.

Debby's avatar

Show your proof of ANY of that and your sources.

The same people probably drooled over Jill Biden and Michelle Obama. They’re not even trying to hide their bitterness and bias. They can’t even come up with good snark. These aren’t film reviews, they’re political rants and virtue signals. It’s a level of shameless adherence to party dogma that would have impressed a Stalinist writing for the Daily Worker in the 1930s.

Pam Humphrey's avatar

they're still flocking to the whiner michelle obama!

Saw it, liked it, she is not Trump, she is her own person. If I had the chance to meet one or the other I think I would meet her. I can see why he loves her. I think she is looking forward to 2028 where she can hang out in Mar a logo and enjoy the rest of her life. She has so much class.

LHuff8's avatar

I saw Melania at the 10am showing this morning. Honestly, I already knew that she is beautiful and stately, but I didn't know much else about Melania, other than that in Trump's first term, she didn't want to move Barron into the White House right away, and I respected her motherly instincts at the time.

I very much enjoyed this documentary, describing the days up to Trump's 2nd inauguration. After viewing, I respect her now, more than ever. She is spending her time working for the betterment of foster kids, as they head out into the world. As a former volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate, I can attest to the need for support after foster care, as foster kids become adults.

I also enjoyed her love for fashion (not my thing), but I appreciate people who see fashion as art, and you can't think of a more classy First Lady than Melania,(even Jackie O). The attention to detail!!

Lastly, I enjoyed the glimpses of her relationship with Trump. They are a good match, yin and yang. The film showed her strength in the relationship.

Witnessing the ins and outs of the inauguration process and what it's like to move into the White House was also fascinating.

I loved reliving those amazing days in Jan 2025, the Miracle on Ice!

When I see low critic ratings and high audience ratings together, I know to take a second look at the movie!

Of course the Left hates it 😂

John Duffy Live Courageously's avatar

You nailed it again. Great analysis. Saw it today. She is classy, patriotic, successful, family-oriented, humanitarian, all of the things the Left aren't and hate. And today, all the lefties on social media were making fun of the fact that if they wanted alone time today, they would go see Melania, and once again, they were 100% off. On one level, it's so sad that all they have these days is envy, anger, and hate. I wish we could bridge the divide and have respectful, intelligent conversations and disagreements, but I'm too old to be that naive.

Next up

Usha. Even if she doesn't make a movie, the critics will trash her. They don't live in the same reality.

Beeswax's avatar

Their job is to trash her.

Peggy Bojduj's avatar

It’s so pathetic. She’s so Jackie Kennedy-esque. whom I’m thinking they approve of. These folks are unbelievably programmed. It’s sad and scary.

Deborah Gallaway's avatar

It is. Sad. And scary. Thanks be to God we do not have to listen to them.

Peggy Bojduj's avatar

They all need Jesus

Peggy Bojduj's avatar

Yes but they are the trained activists bringing up the future generations. Read Insurrection Barbies substack on how CCP is training educators through strategic leaders training in Cuba. If we don’t wake up and address this they will be ruling us. But as you say. God Is In Control 🙏🏼

NNTX's avatar

Just for kicks and grins, I checked the Rotten Tomatoes rating for the 2024 film, “Reagan”. Remarkably similar with 18% Tomatometer (68 reviews) and 98% Popcornmeter (5000+ “verified” ratings).

They are in their own bubble.

Te Reagan's avatar

Y’all realize these numbers can be manipulated??

I swear, Trump has made many Republicans just plan stupid. Apparently, non of this happens until Trump 2.0

No, never. lol

A strong believer in giving even an apparent dolt another chance, I was hoping that your second posting would make more sense then the first. No such luck. You should probably follow Dean Wormer's paraphrased advice: "Fat, drunk and [Liberal] is no way to go through life, son."

sibyl gardner's avatar

There's a place for the venomous Lefty ladies... not here of course, but with Jennifer Welsh and her ilk.

Paul Scofield's avatar

I had to look Welsh up, to see who you are referring to. By the looks of it, you are correct. By the looks of her, an angry saluki must have gotten over the fence somewhere along the line.

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

As difi said, the hate lives strong in you.

sibyl gardner's avatar

I actually became a Republican recently, having left my lifelong Democrat party years ago when they became insane and elistist, becoming an independent for a number of years. But as the Left has become more hateful and insane and violent, I decided to get as far away from them as possible.

Elise McLain's avatar

Same; covid is what finally did me in. I can't wait to see this movie!

Gym+Fritz's avatar

Sad what the democrat party does to some people, especially the weak ones who have trouble thinking for themselves - tell your children not to hangout with criminals, drug users, or democrats.

234's avatar

I don't remember a Democrat putting an end to the cold war.

Reagan had to clean up Carter's mess just as Trump is cleaning up Biden's.

Next time please leave the people's house as you found it.

Loved it!! Classy First Lady!! Nice to see what we knew-humanizing element to the Trumps!!

KJens's avatar

Saw it last night - sold out show in Atlanta (not the suburbs). The 2 previous showings were also sold out. The audience clapped enthusiastically at the end.

Worth noting among the inside look at the run up to the inauguration - Aviva Siegel, the former hostage Melania comforts in the movie had her husband's release secured 12 days into the Trump presidency.

And the winner for the most raging case of TDS --11 years in a row--once again, it's a tie between all the brain dead, brainwashed liberal Trump haters masquerading as legitimate critics.

mk's avatar

It was interesting. You got to see behind the scenes of the inauguration planning with so many details you never even thought of. It had it's slow moments but on the whole was quite enjoyable. The theater where I saw it was nearly full and you could tell people were enjoying it.

May I ask what city you saw it in with a pretty full house?
