We have ICE agents all over Florida grabbing criminal illegal aliens with no interference from protesters. They get in and get out. It helps that they are supported by local police. It’s possible for ICE to do its job when citizens want criminals off the street. Minneapolis just wants the grift to continue. I don’t feel sorry for them because they created the chaos.

I feel bad for the majority of Minnesota that has to live with the crazies.

I feel sorry for the *minority* of Minnesotans who have to contend with $10 Billion + in fraud and death threats against Nick Shirley but that has been memory holed. The majority of MN voted for this in fraud free elections?

Let’s hope Minnesotans don’t fall for Klobuchar...

They most certainly will.

All tax paying Americans paid for most of this fraud. It was Federal money. Our taxes at work!

James David's avatar

Do any of you get it that the money was mostly federal?

MyOpinion's avatar

Fed money comes from tax payers, right?

James David's avatar

Of course. but it is worse I think when one state spends the republic's money foolishly or corruptly. If they spend their own that is deplorable and stupid but not my business, unless it is going to terrorists etc.

ElgeeR's avatar

Apparently the majority of Minnesotans voted for Tim Walz, and the majority of Minneapolis voters voted for Jacob Frey. The majority voted for leaders who submit to antifa/rioters, and choose to neuter their police forces. I feel bad for the minority who didn’t vote for this but are unable to leave the area.

Mtone's avatar

Hard to say if it was a majority of voters did vote for them. There’s credible evidence of ballot fraud, bloc voting and illegal voting in the ballot factories in Congrewoman Omar’s district that has about 80,000 of her former countrymen. Starting with + 80,000 votes is tough to overcome in an otherwise legal mayoral, governor and congressional race.

NNTX's avatar

The recent Minneapolis mayoral election pitted Frey against a Somali immigrant, Omar Fateh. Fateh’s is in the same clan as Omar, whose original Somali tribe was in conflict with Ilan Omar’s tribe (Omar’s father was a colonel in former Somali dictator Siad Barre of Majeerteen “sub-clan" of Darod clan). Clan rivalries apparently were sufficiently strong to defeat Fateh despite an endorsement from Omar. Suspicious that imho.

James David's avatar

The minority can take up arms. Eventually they will.

Epaminondas's avatar

It's not just Florida, it's the vast majority of the country, even many blue states. If you look at conflict with ICE, it's entirely concentrated in a few sanctuary cities. Of course this fact is totally ignored by the people who claim that ICE are "Nazis" or "Gestapo".

Jeff Keener's avatar

I read somewhere (should have bookmarked it) that nationally, 65% of hostile interactions between the public and DHS occur in just 9 counties. All are within "sanctuary" declarations. This is a little like that NIH study from a few years ago: "The 1 % of the population accountable for 63 % of all violent crime convictions".

All newspapers are deep blue agents of leftist propaganda.

James David's avatar

And they are all irrelevant except to lefties. Only idiots read them.

Pat Robinson's avatar

Thats why they want online censorship, they have lost control of the narrative.

James David's avatar

Agreed. But they are grasping at flotsam in the wreckage. They are doomed. It isn't just their lack of honesty or bias, it is structural. The medium is dying and can't be saved. That's been happening for a long time.

And it is part of why they are so biased. They have been bought up and consolidated to the extent that most "papers" and the old TV stations are owned by a few people, and they are mostly leftists.

But you see how bad off they are when you see that Fox - which is not rightwing but centrist - nearly has more market than all the rest combined.

Webe1's avatar

Leftist is a word “the system” loves to see us use...it keeps us divided (much like race, religion, gender, age, class, etc).

James David's avatar

Normally I would agree with you. The worst nightmare for the uniparty - the "establishment" - is for all of the disaffected to get together and realize the real divides are "class" (money) and power.

But in this case not. "Collectivist" might be better but people don't understand that one so much. The problem is "the left" has been infiltrated and taken over by communists, many of them foreign, moneyed by people like Singham and Soros.

We do not want to be "undivided" from them. They are the enemy, as are the feminazis.

NWCitizen's avatar

Sure, the right objects to being called fascists and Nazis but love to call the left "communists" ad nauseum (and other names), also non-sensical.

James David's avatar

It is not nonsensical idiot. It is definitive. Anyone who cannot see that deserves no respect.

Fascism is not right wing. Neither is National Socialism. As in NAZI, the National Socialist German Worker's party...

When you claim otherwise you are kissing Joe Stalin's dead ass. Calling fascism right wing was his invention. Which makes you dumber than a dead commie...

Collectivism is the umbrella for any group or "philosophy" that places the group over the individual. IMO if you subscribe to that you are no longer human - you surrender your humanity to the collective.

Socialism, fascism, communism, theism, progressivism... All the same things with different names. The same ideas and the same tactics.

Americans - real Americans - are individualists. We place the individual over the collective. We only give the collective what we choose to give it as individuals and resist everything else.

That is why we support the American Republic - it is NOT a democracy. It is a guarantee of inalienable individual rights, as in the Bill of Rights. Things that cannot be touched by any ordinary vote.

And that is why the second amendment is the most important amendment. We are ready to use force to protect the Republic and the individuals that it serves. we reserve the right to overthrow - and END - any tyrant that attempts to usurp that.

Including any and all collectivists.

The amazing thing is that you believe the statements of the dear leader who lies constantly about the arrested immigrants being "rapists & murderers" and the "worst of the worst". ICE BARBIE says, “The individuals that we are going after are those that are violent criminals, those that are breaking our laws and those that have final removal orders.” Of course, the right believes all illegal immigrants are automatically criminals and should be deported, but to make the deportations more palatable, that is NOT what the Trump administration SAYS it is doing.

From Jan. 20, 2025, to Oct. 15, only 37% had any past criminal conviction, 30% had pending charges, and 33% had NO criminal record. Of these, only 7% had a VIOLENT criminal conviction. Many of the other convictions were for minor offenses like traffic violations.

The administration claim that 70% are criminals claim relies on including those with pending charges as “criminals.” In the US, people are “innocent until proven guilty” and many who were charged will miss their day in a U.S. court because they were deported.

Since Miller is pushing for more & more illegal immigrants to be arrested, the percentage that have no criminal background has increased. In Jan 2026, nearly 43% of those detained had NO convictions or charges, up 10% since Oct. 2025.

The libertarian Cato Institute analyzed nonpublic data from ICE leaked to Cato, and found that among those with criminal convictions detained by ICE, 8% were convicted of violent or property crimes (about 5% were violent criminal convictions). Contrary to administration rhetoric about targeting the “worst of the worst” , the director David Bier described the arrests under Trump as “INDISCRIMINATE.”

I think if ICE actually only arrested violent criminals and were transparent about who was arrested, the protests would be much less. That will never happen under Trump.

Kathy Barkulis's avatar

I have heard the administration say that almost 70% of the deportations were either convicted of a crime or are pending cases. Your stats seem to bear this out. But you know what? None of them should’ve been here. Biden opened our borders indiscriminately without vetting. Neither Clinton nor Obama did that. In fact, Obama deported 3 million of them. No one protested or interfered with ICE. This is all about Trump and interfering with his administration. And according to the Signal chats it is well funded and organized to disrupt our society. So fuck that shit.

NWCitizen's avatar

Obama & Clinton did not hire armies of goons to use to invade cities and indiscriminately grab black & brown people off the streets. They did not have ICE agents rappel onto a Chicago apt building and use explosives to open doors in a raid that critics called excessive and inhumane. Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker called for investigation into reports that children were zip tied & several U.S. citizens were held for hours. ICE said they arrested two people with alleged Tren de Aragua street gang connections, along with dozens suspected of violating immigration laws.

In the past, ICE made most of its arrests in partnership with local jails and prisons, quietly taking into custody immigrants who had already been arrested by another law enforcement agency. Arrests at jails and prisons went up in 2025 but the increase was far exceeded by the growth in what ICE calls “at-large” arrests, the apprehensions of immigrants on the streets, in courthouses, and at homes and businesses.

Kathy Barkulis's avatar

Obama built the cages he put the families in. Not a peep from the media. Not a peep from the left. No riots or protests or whistles or spit coming from the professional agitators towards ICE. You are all hypocrites.

Jeff Keener's avatar

Really glad they got the criminal aliens that they did. Probably would not have happened with Harris in the White House. As you know, it's much more likely she would have increased the number of violent illegals in America's neighborhoods.

Then, there's the issue of over 100,000 unaccompanied migrant children that Noem's DHS have recovered and returned to their families. Lot more work to do there, too.

So, here's the database for the WOWs arrested since last summer. You can look up your own state to see who was arrested and why. Why don't you look it over and then come back and make an argument why they should not have been arrested and why it's good for immigrant neighborhoods to have criminals for neighbors... or, as Walz calls them "our neighbors of color".

NWCitizen's avatar

The point is that Trump is LYING when he claims that the US is only deporting people convicted on violent crimes and "the worst of the worst." He is also deporting people who have NO criminal history. Not that anybody on the right cares that Trump lies constantly.

So your DHS website displaying the "worst of the worst" has 1688 pages with 12 people/page = 20256 people.

Over the past year, President Donald Trump’s administration has deported about 230,000 people who were arrested INSIDE the country and another 270,000 at the border, an analysis of federal data shows. Another roughly 40,000 people “self-deported.” This equals 540,000 while DHS says 622,000 people had been deported under Trump, although they did not respond to requests for a more detailed breakdown of that figure.

So 20256/622,000 = .032 or 3.2% of the deportees are violent criminals.

If you use the figure of 230,000 people arrested INSIDE the country, that gives:

20256/230000=.088 or 8.8% of deportees are violent criminals.

You did not read my post. I said, "I think if ICE actually only arrested violent criminals and were transparent about who was arrested, the protests would be much less. That will never happen under Trump."

Did you forget that the vile Stephen Miller came up with the "zero tolerance" for children to be separated from the families in Trump's first admin and did NOT EVEN keep track of which children belonged to which families? Miller advocated for the policy as a tool for deterrence, arguing that harsh penalties would discourage illegal immigration.

Trump's chief strategist , the most influential person in his admin, Stephen Miller, who determines who & how people get deported is a white supremacist. He would like to expel all brown & black people from the US, even using "denaturalization." Former Breitbart editor, Katie McHugh, who has since denounced racism, leaked more than 900 emails from 2015-16 to "Hatewatch, in which Miller relays white nationalist conspiracy theories and offer news tips to Breitbart on how to cover immigration and amplify stories about black and Hispanic crime.

The emails have been printed by SPLC and their existence verified by the right wing news organizations NYPost & Fox.

Jeff Keener's avatar

Trump never said that. You're making it up. Trump said he would deport ALL illegal aliens starting with the worst first. That's exactly what he's doing. So far, over 20,000 of the worst. That's great progress.

NWCitizen's avatar

Are you kidding? Trump literally rants about deporting dangerous criminals, murderers, & rapists, people sent from prisons & mental institutions who are "poisoning the blood of our country" ALL THE TIME at rallies, on truth social. Since it is repeated so frequently, it makes people believe that ALL illegal immigrants are violent criminals and that is who he is deporting. This is what he wants people to believe. The left does not hate black and brown people who fled violence and poverty and have lived & worked here peacefully for decades as the right does.

Jen Todd's avatar

Are you kidding? I have yet to read any comment from you that isn't a delusion on behalf of whatever Trump slop hits your trough. Not one comment that is reasonable or logical. All are vague platitudes that completely lack evidence to support your claims. "Innocent fisherman" comes to mind.

Illegal entry into our country is a federal crime. Only you and your fellow morons make assumptions that people believe that all illegals are violent. Nobody has suggested that. Apparently, you and your fellow lefties believe that predatory criminal illegal alians should be allowed to freely roam our country without question and that interfering with their removal is heroic.

https://www.dhs.gov/wow?combine=&field_country_of_origin_target_id=All&field_state_value=All

Jeff Keener's avatar

That might be what you believe, but you're only fooling yourself. The right and the middle believe in immigration law regardless of skin color. The hard left thinks they can pick and choose which laws to follow and uses black and brown people as pawns in their psychodrama.

Dena's avatar

Even if your stats were true, the “ protesters” wouldn’t care. Most are paid & organized to carry out orders of chaos. The leftists want 100% amnesty. The democrat party wants the votes. They cannot win a fair election & they know it. They’re fighting for the power they see slipping away.

NWCitizen's avatar

Who exactly paid the thousands of people gathered in downtown Minneapolis on January 23, 2026 in subzero temps to protest ICE actions, with demonstrations continuing in the following days. You just echo your dear leader who likes to make statements like that and also lies non-stop about the 2020 election being "stolen."

Nguyen Ngoc Loan was a South Vietnamese general. The man shot was a Vietcong member, not wearing a uniform in violation of the Geneva Conventions. Battle field execution was warranted. It was not a war crime, but was presented as such by US media. Still misunderstood incident to this day.

Epaminondas's avatar

Not only was he in violation of the Geneva Conventions, but Lem had been committing major war crimes himself. It's an excellent example of how people can be easily misled by first impressions. Very few people know about the full backstory:

"In the morning of the second day of Tet, January 31st, 1968, when general Nguyen Ngoc Loan was leading a fierce fight near An Quang Pagoda in Saigon’s Chinese quarter, two of his officers brought to him a communist cadre who had murdered many innocents in cold-blood in the past couple days. He was Captain Nguyen Van Lem, alias Bay Lop.

Minutes before he was captured, Bay Lop had killed a RVN policeman’s wife and all of his family members including his children. Around 4:30 A.M., Nguyen Van Lem led a sabotage unit along with Viet Cong tanks to attack the Armor Camp in Go Vap. After communist troops took control of the base, Bay Lop arrested Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan with his family and forced him to show them how to drive tanks. When Lieutenant Colonel Tuan refused to cooperate, Bay Lop killed all members of his family including his 80-year-old mother. There was only one survivor, a seriously injured 10-year-old boy."

Eric Sowers's avatar

The shooter wasn’t US military or he probably would have been. At the same time the communists were going into villages and murdering the villagers and their children to get their cooperation.

The war was as mishandled as a military campaign can be. For one example, during the Johnson years Washington was informing the Russian embassy of the location and time of upcoming air strikes so they could evacuate any Russian personnel.

Eric Sowers's avatar

In Vietnam we allowed the press free rein and they reported pretty much anything they wanted, while the communists tightly controlled their news. As a result the news of VC and NVA war crimes were pretty much never aired in the West.

Simon's avatar

I understand why he did it, but is the execution of POWs not a war crime nonetheless? He was captured, not on the battlefield.

Given that a week or so prior to his death, Pretti had attempted to stop an arrest by screaming at agents, spitting at/on them, and kicking out the taillight of their vehicle--apparently while armed--it is "pretty" clear that he was looking for a violent, suicidal confrontation with law enforcement. He got his wish a few days later.

The failure was not that he was shot--agents have the right to defend themselves from violent assaults-- but that he was not arrested after the first violent incident. Had that occurred, he likely would be alive today.

Yeah, Durbin, he's a disgrace...

Tom Servo's avatar

Pacificus's avatar

That occurred to me, too, but maybe that would not have been the case had the feds done the arresting.

Dena's avatar

That the Feds have been accused of being too harsh may be one reason they didn’t arrest him. Also they could have been distracted by another insurgent. On the whole the Feds have shown amazing restraint considering all the abuse heaped on them.

Pacificus's avatar

Agree 1000% that the real story is not that the feds shot two "protesters" in Minneapolis, it is that they did not shoot many more, given the many provocations aimed at getting them to react/overreact.

Let's amplify that message.

Orenv's avatar

I guess that ICE did not plan for mass detentions and arrests. It seems like most detained were later released without charges. THAT was bad planning.

Pacificus's avatar

Yes, ICE was not ready for mass detentions of violent agitators. But it was the refusal of Walz and Frey to bring in the Minneapolis police and Minn National Guard to arrest these offenders that is the real problem here. It's almost as if Walz and Frey wanted these violent encounters between ICE and the "protesters."

What we face is multi-faceted. It arrives daily at us with the usual misleading persuasions of traditional media, digital media. There are attention grabbing social media campaigns. There are others with crowd funding which amount to psychological operations. It is a kind of battle without soldiers in uniforms or guns. Everyone participates passively or actively. We exist within permanent conflict, a battle for our minds. But none of it changes the morality of right and wrong, of truth and falsehood.

Dena's avatar

Recent example on X. There were several postings of a list of 192 R’s that supposedly recently voted for continuing funding of welfare benefits for refugees. Fake - the list was actually from July 2021. Then 192 GOP did vote for a visa immigration measure for Afghan refugees. A bad move in 2021 but unethical for it to used by so called conservative influencers this week. Sowing division is their game.

Minnesota protesters pretends to care about protecting illegal immigrants and conviently ignore the fact that ICE is targeting criminal illegals. Fourteen States have seen more deportations than Minnesota including the blue sanctuary states of California and New York. No riots in those states. Why? The answer is because Minnesota is a crime scene and the protests are being pushed as a distraction from the massive fraud used to buy the political support of an immigrant population both legal and illegal. The grift is massive and embedded in the political machine and police hierarchy. The national politicians who have jumped on the bandwagon with misleading narratives and AI fakes are either useful idiots or suffering from lack of integrity due to extreme TDS, or both.
