We haven't had a president who was believably "in charge" since superspook Bush Sr., and then before that JFK and Nixon, who got what was coming to them from their misbehavior. So even rebels like Carter and Trump were/are eventually destroyed.
Presidents today are always (a) well-captured smart guys up from poverty/disenfranchisement like Johnson, Clinton, Obama, Vance who come in heavily owing TPTB, or (b) dullards/fools/senile like Ford, Reagan, Quayle, Bush Jr, Biden, Kamala/Walz (notice the progression down to idiocracy over time) as well as our current self-proclaimed super-genius Trump. They can be controlled. Maybe FDR and Ike were each on top of things, but who knows. FDR died at 63 (and had interestingly swapped out H. Wallace for Truman), while Ike warned us on the way out what was coming. If 2024's Democratic Party episode didn't convince you there's zero will to effect democracy, you're in deep denial.
It's clear to me now the capture began probably in earnest no later than a century ago (read e.g. Bernays, Mencken, Lippmann for their scathing opinions of democracy), when the people's right to, in large part, openly control their destinies was conflated with the shortcomings of average intelligence. Midnight Hammer eliminated the separation and enrichment capability. There remains a significant inventory of up to 60% enriched Uranium and likely plutonium. I imagine the same theocrats who machine gun protesters would have no problem storing the enriched material above ground in populous areas making bombing a non-starter because of contamination.
Trump and his commanders likely want to do to the missile manufacture enterprise and inventory what was done to Fordow. I imagine the brains at Centcom have determined that a few kilograms of 60% enriched uranium vaporized over a US coastal city (dirty bomb) could render large areas uninhabitable. So the missile capability has to be next. The Iranian Navy likely includes missile frigates and submarines capable of close targeting delivery. Those will be sunk.
The expensive fireworks can only last so long from a force supplied from the other side of the world. So I predict this will be over quickly. Beheading the theocracy will help spread disorder in the military. Trump's offer of immunity should motivate some defections and mutiny.
