Underestimate Trump at your own risk. It's obvious that Trump/Rubio have the full backing of most (if not all) of the other Arab (Sunni) countries in the region and Iran is totally isolated. These other Arabian countries want regime change in Iran. They're going to get it.

Sea Sentry's avatar

Even France and Canada back U.S. action. Incroyable. Only Mullah Starmer of Anglistan is opposed.

Pat Robinson's avatar

He allowed his suicide vest demographic to get too large

Curious to see if the Hamas supporters try to counterprotest the Iranian diaspora, that could get messy

Sea Sentry's avatar

Yes, it will be interesting to see where the progressive left comes down on this issue. It's impossible to be sympathetic to the Iranian regime, but they can't very well support Trump either. What to do...

Pat Robinson's avatar

They will support the mullahs

They already are.

The mullahs are the primary lifeline of their Hamas heroes, they have no choice but to double down.

In the SOTU Trump should have asked all those who would support American troops against Iran to stand.

That would have been interesting.

They couldn’t stand when asked if their first duty is to American citizens.

Sea Sentry's avatar

Yes, that was a very telling moment that will haunt them for decades.

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

Uuuhhhh. They have been worshiping in the cult of an Iranian agent for twenty years.

They have their orders from the unreality machine

Suzie's avatar

France not so much. Don’t trust them at all!!

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

Mulkah Barry will be as well

R H's avatar

Carter should have done this in 1979. About time.

Faith's avatar

We crashed in a sand storm trying to rescue the hostages in 1979.🙄

Operator Dawn's avatar

Middle East does not Trust Iran and others like the 9-11 people. they know these are low life thugs...people who wear suicide vest are sick cowards and middle eastern countries are so beyond angry at seeing this,,,,,,,bomb goes off during a wedding, bomb goes off during a birthday party and on and on everyone knows Its Iran the instigator and doer of evil....

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

Iran has unilaterally attacked Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain , Qatar and Dubai.

Iran has acted war against every one of them

Willy's avatar

These early hot takes are invariably wrong and basically pointless. There’s reasons for this action that will take time for to become

apparent.

He’s acting on information that none of us have.

it serves a purpose and it will become clear in time.

I’m not saying this as a cheerleader. Nobody wants this. But the usual pearl clutching or freaking out are always so wildly wrong they should all learn by now and just wait it out and let some smoke clear.

Soon the protestors will hit the streets but the engagement will already be over.

It’s so predictable.

If you’re gonna do something then this is the way to do it. Get in there and end the thing before the enemy can even start.

David Cooper's avatar

Regime change is illegal dummy.

Pat Robinson's avatar

🙄

They are inviting the Iranian people to change the regime after pulling some of its fangs.

A difference

David Cooper's avatar

The Iranian People are Shia Muslim. They'll never surrender to the Jews. You don't seem to have a grasp of the situation. Go make banana bread or crochet or watch Tik Tok.

Pat Robinson's avatar

I love banana bread, but my wife makes that and crochets, and I don’t have TikTok

Shia is just the flip side of Sunni, it’s all about the leadership, the majority of Iranian Shias want this govt gone

I support them

You are entitled to believe anything you want

JMan 2819's avatar

The Iranians have been deconverting from Islam

RedPilledConservative's avatar

I love the collapse button for those who cannot make a point without insult.

Jeffhas's avatar

I would prefer to make banana bread while crocheting as I post a video of it on Tik Tok … and make some money!

David Cooper's avatar

The groundhog I bet wouldn't even eat your banana bread. Nor the skunks. It would sit out 2 days till a skinny possum found it.

Roger Beal's avatar

So say Schumer and Pelosi.

Gary W.'s avatar

If the mullahs in Iran had the ability to bring regime change in the US they would do it in a heartbeat.

Dena's avatar

Trumps Truth Social to the Iranian people tells them it’s up to them to fix their government.

David White's avatar

So call the international police, dummy.

Patrick Wahl's avatar

Expect the left to be out in the streets today protesting this, because they protest pretty much everything these days.

Dims Stink's avatar

And remember that in most red states, it's legal to run over them if they get near your car.

Daryl L. Hunter's avatar

Yes, leftists love their Islamist allies.

Myra Doyle's avatar

Except illegal aliens

M. Osborne's avatar

saw clips of people cheering in Iran and women throwing off their hijabs. Given that the regime has tortured and murdered so many women and gay people, I'm surprised the left isn't cheering also.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

The left's biggest problem will be that it appears the Iranians want to return their monarchy to power which puts our progressives in a difficult position since they have made it known they are against kings. LOL

VICKI's avatar

they don't mind Shahs though so Reza Pahlavi may be back in charge or in the game; who knows. Better than the devil people who we hope are mostly with their 20 virgins or whatever that saying is.

Buffalo Pete's avatar

I know you're being tongue in cheek here, but it should be noted that the Shaw has disavowed any possibility of reclaiming the throne. He wants to be a rallying figure for a free Iran, and that's it.

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

The king of Bulgaria was deposed by Communists at the age of eight.

After living in Spain, after the Communist regime fell, he served as prime Minister

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

The difficult position is that get their positions from an agent of the Ayatollah

Celia M Paddock's avatar

Why are you surprised? The Left does not actually care about anything but their own power. All the groups they 'support' are merely puppets that will be discarded the moment they cease to be useful. They largely discarded the working class because the working class finally stopped believing in their lies and voted for Trump instead. They largely discarded black people when illegal immigrants became more useful. They largely discarded women when the trans became more useful.

And never forget that when a woman, a gay person, or a black person dares to think for themselves and discard the Left's ideology, the Left extends no further protection to them by virtue of their identity. The Left is quite ready to engage in misogyny, homophobia, and racism when the target is a non-Leftist.

Patrick Wahl's avatar

I think if it was the saintly Obama they would cheer, but not Trump. No matter what he does they are against it.

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

He is to the Ayatollah what the leftists say Trump is to Putin

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

They do what their cult leader tells them and he works for the Ayatollah

Jim I's avatar

We tried it the other way with Obama and Biden shipping and freeing up hundreds of billions to Iran.

The results were more terror and 10’s of thousands of slaughtered Iranian protestors.

Now imagine how many millions of lives would have been saved if Britain and France had shown the resolve in 1938 to stand firm against Hitler’s demands on Czechoslovakia—instead of pursuing appeasement at Munich.

A stronger stance could have prevented or drastically shortened the deadliest war in world history, which claimed 75-80M lives.

Skenny's avatar

Like everything else we tried the Obama/Biden way, it quickly turned to "excrement."

Steve's avatar

Is this World War III?

That would be a NO.

Bonnie Beresford's avatar

But the Left will insist that's the outcome. They've been begging for an event to prove Trump will get us into WW III since about ten years ago. It'll be all over their social media any minute now.

Kurt's avatar

This unprovoked, first strike, with the goal of regime change is what I thought I was voting against in voting Trump.

Skenny's avatar

Jeff Childers explains the provocation, including 30,000 civilian lives, in his piece this morning. I would rather see focus on the Western Hemisphere, and let the UN/NATO worry about Iran, but that would still have involved primarily our military.

Jeffhas's avatar

This right here is the MOST PERFECT comprehensive analysis with ALL the facts (both sides) laid out. All of this are things we all know, but laid out in orderly fashion. Bravo for posting this. Thank you.

Brian DeLeon's avatar

The Coffee and COVID article is excellent. It explains the history, the other side of the argument, in a concise, easy to read style. Don’t be fooled by the corporate media.

Matt L.'s avatar

I’m a fan of Jeff Childers (read him daily) but I’m not sure his take is totally correct on this subject. Way too early to know. This operation isn’t even 24 hours old.

Bonnie Beresford's avatar

READ THIS.

It's the whole story with dates and milestones and justification for it all.

Outstanding.

DeeDeeGM's avatar

Thank you. An article I will read more than once.

monkey.work's avatar

Sounds like you were good with all other wonderful things Democrat party has promised: castration of children, dei, and socialism for all.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

This is not the usual neo-con regime change inasmuch as we will not be putting a government into power that suits us. Please check out "Coffee and Covid" for a sober take on Operation Epic Fury. Trump said clearly that the Iranian people will decide what kind of government they want. And that's as it should be.

Patrick Wahl's avatar

Depends on your definition of unprovoked. It's an accumulation of things over the years. Trump listed some of them in his speech.

DarkSkyBest's avatar

Most recently, if Iran was behind the attempted assassination HERE in the US of Mike Pompeo and other Trump 1.0 officials, THAT alone is provocation for war. But of course Democrat Pres. Dementia Auto-Pen just friended them instead.

Pat Robinson's avatar

Unprovoked?

The funniest statement of the day.

The mullahs just want peace, right?

Helen J Vogl's avatar

When you try to negotiate with these people with no results, when a country slaughters at least 40,000 of their citizens for just protesting, something needs to be done imho!

Buffalo Pete's avatar

You might not want war with Iran, but Iran has been at war with us for 47 years. This is neither unprovoked nor the "first strike." But God willing, it'll be the last.

ronetc's avatar

Yes, it's always best to wait to strike at your enemies till they have gotten strong and ready to attack immediately . . . rather than taking them out when they are already weakened and can be decapitated relatively easily and with the support of the enemy's captive population.

Helen J Vogl's avatar

Unprovoked, really?

Dorota's avatar

I agree

I am so disappointed

Jeffhas's avatar

“What happens when out of touch former monarch doesn't work out?”

Fair criticism. Does not look like whim to me Trump has been talking about this for weeks and made clear again at SOTU - listen to Trumps words. The people of Iran must set their government, if they want a former monarch that is their choice. Hopefully it is temporary to Democratic elections - which he himself has stated he wants. But for sure if everything stays the same “pre-strike” there will be more of the same murderous misery… not an easy choice, but the only one. Who cares about Israel, care about the people of Iran!

Dorota's avatar

I am a C&C reader

Dorota's avatar

If you have time listen to Tacker interviewing Christian Minister, or our Ambassador to Israel.

There is also a video of Rabbi telling Our Ambassador how happy they are to attack Iran.

This is all done on Israel whim. What happens when out of touch former monarch doesn't work out?

Another country that doesn't need our intervention.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

First, as of this morning and because Trump has reset the entire Middle East, Saudi Arabia has announced support for Operation Epic Fury. That's a huge deal and it takes air out of the "it's all about Israel" argument. And second, Tucker Carlson has turned into another Candace Owens. I don't know what his problem is, but he isn't worth the time anymore. I unsubscribed. He's made himself irrelevant. In any case, this it not an Israeli "whim." Are you aware of the history of Iran in the last 49 years and how that country has been handled by American presidents until Trump? You need context.

Pat Robinson's avatar

I think Tucker saw his base lunch being eaten by Owens and decided to fight fire with fire.

Can’t listen to either of them.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Ugh. I can't stand either one of them, and I used to listen to them both. To paraphrase "Juju" from C&C, they both need padded rooms and juice boxes.

Elaine Eike's avatar

Of course, Megyn Kelly had him on her show the other day. She brags about her viewership, even as many loyal subscribers have dumped her. Yeah, right, Megyn, you cannot be trusted, and having Tucker on your show was a giant red flag.

Dorota's avatar

We should forever stay away from changing who is in charge anywhere in the world!

Especially if religion, or religious differences, is involved.

When Clinton bombed Serbia, nobody was taking about entire Serbian villages that were empty overnight, and filled with Muslims. Nobody knew what happened with them.

Now Muslims in North Macedonian parlament speak their own language, because Americans forced that on them.

Before they lived in peace, now everyone is divided.

Same here. Let these people decide on their own.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

They will. So far it looks like the Iranians want to bring back the shah. The Persians are an ancient culture and will do what's right for them. Trump has said as much. Did you listen to his 8 minute statement from late last night?

Bonnie Beresford's avatar

"Let these people decide on their own."

That is exactly what is happening. After 47 years of US Presidents making grand gestures and mugging for cameras, this one is doing what the Iranian civilians have been begging for. I was hesitant until I read the C and C piece which pulls the history together in a way that shows if Trump didn't do this, there would be no hope for Iran, ever again.

Iran is a country filled with educated brilliant people who have an incomparable history. The world needs them back.

Sally Sue's avatar

95% of all Iranians want regime change. Iran military just killed 30,000 young Iranian kids who were peacefully protesting and holding signs.

Liberty6666's avatar

I thought ww3 was what we did in s. America. Iran isn't a war it's just an operation, a colonoscopy if you will

Deb DiPietro's avatar

That’s an interesting take (I spent 30 years in gastroenterology-I like it 🤣)

steven t koenig's avatar

It's more like an enema

Deb DiPietro's avatar

Must clean out to see what’s in there, and remove the pathology

Jim I's avatar

“Regime change is illegal.”

Unless it is directed and coordinated by Dems and Social Media against a duly elected President Trump.

John Rogitz's avatar

Love to see this regime collapse but don't forget that our man in Iran - the Shah - was overthrown by the Iranian people chanting "Death to America" 50 years ago, eagerly elevating the Ayatollahs. Which they now rue. So we are helping out people who spit in our eye, screwed the pooch, and are now suffering because of it. This is not something a Great Satan would do. But no one on the Left or in the Muslim world will acknowledge it.

Pat Robinson's avatar

Better the devil you know. The ayatollah lied his ass off, said it would be a peaceful country and the idiot Carter fell for it.

That is the greatest strategic mistake of the past 100 years.

Believing the words of an Islamist, whose religion specially allows them to disemble and lie when in position of weakness.

Roger Beal's avatar

Keep those words in mind next time you hear a speech by Omar or Tlaib.

Pat Robinson's avatar

I’m well aware, I don’t understand why more don’t understand it.

Joan Martin's avatar

Maybe they learned a hard lesson. The younger generation likely has no knowledge of the Shah's regime

We would all be safer right now during a week long visit to Tel Aviv than in a weekend in the Southside of Chicago.

Elaine Eike's avatar

I am 100% behind Operation Fury. Thank God we have President Trump at the helm. Tucker Carlson and his cronies will be upset. and of course the Democrats. Clearly, America tried to negotiate a deal but knew it would never happen. China had already called for its citizens to leave Iran, as well as Canada. For those who believe that we are just protecting Israel, Israel, as our solid ally, is really protecting America

Deb DiPietro's avatar

As usual, you are on top of the news and also have the ability to provide clear perspective. Thank you. 🙏🏽

As a believer in God Almighty, I can rest that in the end, His final judgement will be just, for all of us. Nothing happens without his foreknowledge and He will have the victory over all evil and injustice. My peace is in knowing that.

Gloria Fredericks's avatar

It is not just about the killing of the protestors. It’s also about them obtaining nuclear weapons. That would have a huge impact on the world at large. That said, I’m not a fan of war and pray this does not last long. Heads on a swivel everyone. Remember many men of military age crossed our borders. I’m praying God’s protection and that Iran/Persia will be free from the current evil regime.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

Sasha, Please read Jeff Childers' "Coffee & Covid" today. And take heart. Childers does the best job breaking down Trump's decision and connecting the dots.
