That is when I listen to music or a book while gardening. Nature is where we can fill our souls and admire the world and be grateful to be alive, to see the beauty and hear the birds sing, or scold the squirrel, or find the first bloom of an iris clump. Recharge to worry another day in the greatest gift the world has to offer, nature.
But I’ll be mulling over Helen Andrews’ presentation at the same time; I agree with so much of what she said, and I wish more could hear it! I would love to be part of a discussion group.
It should never be impossible to stay positive if you go outside and see the beauty of this country, go outside and talk with neighbors, talk to your family members, be humble and ask for forgiveness, and remember God is in control. Don’t ever let anyone tell you life is not beautiful. Life is a gift from God to share his love and grace. Turn off the news or media if that’s the source of gloom. Remember to call your mother or child and stay connected.
It is only considered oppressive patriarchy in Western cultures. In Islamic culture, a man can beat his three wives regularly and honor kill his little sister for having sex outside of marriage and it's openly embraced as "culturally appropriate". To question this hypocrisy is Islamophobic.
That is why Liberalism is a mental disorder! They have been captured by the Borg and told by the hive how and what to think, act, feel and see. They are blind to the obvious and dismiss away the rational in favor of the safety of the crowd. They are the canary in the coal mine and will be the first to go. The difference is that they are in a cage built of thoughts, while the little canary was actually in a structural cage.
Obviously, sir, you are of a vintage that fondly remembers those wooden rulers with embedded metal straightedges, applied promiscuously to the knuckles.
Sister Winifred, agent of The Lord's retribution on third-grade arithmetic students, was an artist with that ruler. Other "penguins" drew blood, but not ol' Sister Winnie.
The difference is that being a Nun is a choice and not mandatory. Before the Islamic fundamentalists took over Iran, women dressed exactly like American women. They drove vehicles, attended college and did not cover their hair. In the Islamic world, women are second class citizens and blamed for a man's failings. they are used, abused and discarded like the women held by human traffickers today in the US.
I read the book because at the time EVERYONE thought the GOP and Trump were putting us on that path. When it's the complete OPPOSITE, as usual with Democrats.
I like the idea of staying positive, but when you live in the Portland metro area as I do, surrounded by AWFLs and the constant attacks of violent crazies on the ICE facility just a few miles north of my home, it's easy to just decide to be a hermit, which can be a bit lonely at times. Also, AWFLs have dominated the clientele of the last few group trips I have done, so I can now no longer feel comfortable booking group holidays where people rant on about their "black and brown" adopted children living in "fear of being shot in the face in the street". These people are deranged and they talk freely about how much they hate immigration control, Trump, etc. etc., while I can say nothing for fear of being shunned and possibly even attacked. I wish I could find some normal people to associate with but until that happens, I just do stuff on my own.
You might try looking for a conservative Women's forum online and getting connected with others in your area. They are in Portland, likely hunkered down trying to survive without setting off any alarms that might get them hauled off to the gulag.
A while back I joined a FB group that was women for Trump or something like that, but got booted out when I got into an argument with one of the moderators about charter schools and homeschooling. Those folks can be pretty crazy too sometimes. Also I'm not religious and it can be tricky navigating conservative groups when you don't believe what they mostly do. While I don't judge anyone for what they believe, I just don't want people trying to "save" me or having to explain why I don't attend a church.
I understand completely. Humans do what humans do, but groups of human often over do! I wish people would keep there fanaticism for their sports teams and looks for similarities that bond rather than differences to peck each other to death about.
I tried a group meeting of women, organized by a couple of gals on the Nextdoor App, when we first moved to our latest home. What I found was an odd mix of women trying to drum up business for their lates side hustle businesses. I came away feeling like I had been transported back to high school, or the days of competition while volunteering at my children's elementary school. The clique factor was in full flower and I remember why I no longer join women's groups. Lol, it never changes and the same characters appear in every group. I prefer the solitude of nature and the company of animals over the politics of negotiating a group of women.
Check out the Lents Neighborhood Livability Association FB page and DM me. I get calls from people who just need someone sane to talk to. My husband and I moved out of Portland 5 years ago to Molalla. We still run a nonprofit in Portland and hold monthly meetings. Consider joining us. November will be our last meeting until next year.
Thanks! I did live in the Lents neighborhood for several years but got tired of trying to avoid the human feces on the public footpath when walking our dog near a large homeless camp close to my house. I'm in West Linn.
I hear ya! Here in WA state, I apologize to everyone as I’m voting for them or their initiatives: “I’m so sorry you aren’t going to win.” It almost feels like I’m jinxing them by voting for them.🤷🏻♀️
Part of me imagines a sweeping Democrat victory followed by everything going so wrong because of it, that the people wake up and Rubio gets voted in as president.
We must hope and pray that Rubio and Vance don't claw each other's eyes out in the 2028 primary vying for the ticket. Unity is more important now than it ever has been.
Come on people. Let’s not act like it’s over. We have a country to fight for. Yeah, it can get depressing but better get busy living or get busy dying.
We’ll wake up, go to work. Do what we have to do.
This country is worth it. God my heads spinning.
I think of this scene in Animal House when I want to lighten my spirits. (Sorry, for the long comment)
War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one
Bluto: What? Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!...
It ain't over now, 'cause when the goin' gets tough, the tough get goin'. Who's with me? Let's go! Come on!...(He ran to the front door but no one followed him)
Bluto (returning): What the f--k happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. 'Ooh, we're afraid to go with you, Bluto, we might get in trouble.' (shouting) Well, just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...
Otter (Tim Matheson): Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now, we could fight 'em with conventional weapons. That could take years and cost millions of lives. No, in this case, I think we have to go all out. I think this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
You certainly helped me when I found you in 2022. I was exasperated at what was happening all around me: kids in my town being arrested for standing outside the capitol on J6, inflation was coming, persecution of republicans without due process, etc. I didn't think there was any sense of this country on the Left. So thank you!
If it swings far enough, it does not swing back. The objective of the Far Left is to get voters to vote to end voting. In theory, they could succeed. But I think they have a very serious problem: they are peaking too soon. It won't be long before normies recoil in horror at the antics of the Demos.
If you haven't voted yet, VOTE RED today and bring people with you to the polls! I did on Saturday. Remind every Republican you know to Vote, don't let anyone sit this out!
How to stay positive is don't look at the bad stuff: look at the good. It's all around. Most of it is free, too. It's not only not impossible, it's actually as easy and turning and seeing what's already there!
Why do you automatically suppose that there is a blue wave coming? Today is a day to sit back, not stress about politics, and know that Jesus is in charge. Relax and be there fully for your daughter........
Again, thank you Sasha for sharing your ability to "cut to the chase" and "drive a point home."
Counting blessings is time well spent. In my opinion, MAGA has not been an "end" a means to an end. That end is not tonight's election results nor is it the "winners" in 2028. America will again be great when Americans are willing to not only look to the future they want but to the past we have had together. We must re-learn to count our blessings and not just our faults.
Allow me to opine based solely on selective input that:
Folks under 40ish have not been required to nor encouraged to do any "long-form" reading.
We are rapidly becoming a visual/aural society again and all of what the past 5 centuries in The West have concluded to be "worthy" has been based on our ability to read. Today We the People of that certain age have skipped Guttenberg and gone straight from Marconi and Farnsworth to whistling past the graves of the ARPANET to Steve Jobs and Zuckerberg. While whistling we have developed the short attention span necessary to get our next dopamine hit.
So long as this bears any resemblence to who we are as "We the People", no amount of targeted or misplaced effort will make America great again.
We love you. A wrong turn doesn’t mean the end of the trip. We declared independence in 1776. 4 years later Charleston fell and Cornwallis was rampaging thru the Carolinas. Victory and defeat are never permanent. We have faith in God and hope for the best.
Some days it's just near impossible to stay positive. But thanks for putting in the effort!
Extremely difficult
That is when I listen to music or a book while gardening. Nature is where we can fill our souls and admire the world and be grateful to be alive, to see the beauty and hear the birds sing, or scold the squirrel, or find the first bloom of an iris clump. Heading out to dig up my dahlias now.😄

Speaking of females,
Watching El-Sayed take photos of people as they come up to him.
Women coming up wearing hijabs. How can free women be ok with that?
White liberal women believe the free world they live in is an oppressive patriarchal anti women society.
It is only considered oppressive patriarchy in Western cultures. In Islamic culture, a man can beat his three wives regularly and honor kill his little sister for having sex outside of marriage and it's openly embraced as "culturally appropriate". To question this hypocrisy is Islamophobic.
"To question this hypocrisy is Islamophobic."
.......And racist; don't forget racist.
I say that derisively, but when the Islamists are publicly calling voting the ummah an "ethnic duty," we see the twisted "logic" applied.
and yet these same women line up to be photographed with those who would see them forced to cover up, remain uneducated, and possibly mutilated... SMH

Reminds me of that classic meme picturing a woman in a hijab and a nun with the caption, "What's the difference?"
The response below it, "Nuns don't randomly explode."
Obviously you were never caught acting up in catechism class…
He’ll hath no fury like a nun feeling disrespected by a 9 year old.
Obviously, sir, you are of a vintage that fondly remembers those wooden rulers with embedded metal straightedges, applied promiscuously to the knuckles.

The parallels to the fictional Atwoods' Handmaids are remarkable.
I read the book because at the time EVERYONE thought the GOP and Trump were putting us on that path. When it's the complete OPPOSITE, as usual with Democrats.
The book is overrated too.
Hope is a powerful force.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Hebrews 11:1

The Far Left regards its fantasies as evidence.
They are completely deranged
And unpredictable.
Yes but just assume they are psychotic and can make irrational statements and decisions at any time.
The point is to just stay far far away
Same. This is our reality.
I hear ya! Here in WA state, I apologize to everyone as I’m voting for them or their initiatives: “I’m so sorry you aren’t going to win.” It almost feels like I’m jinxing them by voting for them.🤷🏻♀️
Sigh.🫤
Thank you Sasha for being a voice in the wilderness for me and all your subscribers.
Part of me imagines a sweeping Democrat victory followed by everything going so wrong because of it, that the people wake up and Rubio gets voted in as president.
Rubio 2028 will be awesome and he will absolutely win, if he wins the primary. We must make sure he wins the primary.
I still am hoping Republicans win today! If you haven't voted yet, go out and vote Red!

We're just the guys to do it...LET'S DO IT!
Spot on! Food Fight!
Classic movie! I have actually stood in front of the house portrayed in the movie.
I have been SUPER pleased to know that someone of Sasha's former self, can convert to the truth at all.
I still dont quite know how she got here, but I wish we could bottle it, make it free to Dem voters.
You certainly helped me when I found you in 2022. An elegy for all of us, hillbillies and otherwise. Thank you.
The pendulum swings back and forth.
Which is exactly what the 2 parties want.
👆👏👏💯

Can you tell me, Sally Sue, why they must be reminded and encouraged?
