Hillary is the reason I’m no longer a Democrat. She is such an awful person.

Tom Servo's avatar

I became a conservative in the late 90s largely because of my disgust with the Clintons. I've never looked back

JJMom's avatar

Oh my gosh me too! I voted for Clinton TWICE!! But I tell people how their corruption repelled me "oh no but the Clintons were AMAZING!" The 2000 election was the only one I didn't vote in. I liked Al Gore (in hindsight, yikes) but I couldn't separate him from Clinton in my mind. George W Bush came across as inauthentic and slimy. Now, here I am a 3x Trump voter.

Herman's avatar

The Bush dynasty was the worst thing to happen to America since LBJ. They were, like most Democrats in power now, penultimate politicians. That is what makes Trump such a contrast. He is NOT a politician, he represents what the Founding Fathers intended: a country ruled by businessmen, who were only part-time legislators, not a permanent oligarchy of career politicians.

Gene Frenkle's avatar

I hate to break it to you but to this very day Texas benefits from LBJ’s policies. LBJ controlled Texas politics even though he was a senator and even though he was a Democrat he was pro-oil and anti-unions and pro-education. National Republicans despise the public schools in Texas because they work…that’s because of LBJ!

Cranky Frankie's avatar

Bill was pretty good at dividing the baby. "The era of big government is over" is not something present day Dems would ever say.

Texyz's avatar

Ha, like his abortion quote: "Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare."

Huh, rare? Tell that to the next woman in line. "Sorry, if we give you an abortion then it won't be 'rare'. We've already had too many today. "

Its Democrat gobbledygook design to make the voter LIKE you.

Curt Chipman's avatar

Or telling blue collar workers to get ready for many jobs not a life long career at one. Oh yes!

DavidK's avatar

lol Tom Servo ... my kids love MST 3k

Roberta L's avatar

I joined my husband as an Independent then. But, by 2016, both of us knew we could never vote Democrat again.

NothingButNet's avatar

Indeed, Hillary is awful, though today she is typical of the Dem Party. Sasha hit the nail on the head when she said the Dems are like the Manson family. It’s a cult preaching hate and intolerance.

MyOpinion's avatar

Living in CA, we followed the whole Manson thing, including the trials. Manson and his followers were the very definition of evil.

Roberta L's avatar

Hence the comparison.

JJoshua's avatar

The Clintons would sell newborns for votes

BBS's avatar

Fetuses for facials--HOW ? I ask you HOW? What kind of woman was okay with that? And yet they were.

Anna Van Zee's avatar

What?? I haven't heard of this - when did this happen?

Cranky Frankie's avatar

Hillary helped Americans to trust elections more, I believe. She proved that spending oodles of cash more than your opponent doesn't produce a win. Kamala demonstrated the principle again.

Gene Frenkle's avatar

And then Trump added $8 trillion to the deficit!! 😝

Beth Nicolaides's avatar

Hillary is exactly why I threw in with Trump on 7/5/16, after a lifetime of voting for Democrats almost as awful as she was. Seeing her continue to fume and seethe has been lovely schadenfreude.

BBS's avatar

Not just "awful." EVIL . The very definition of evil.

Texyz's avatar

Yes indeed. Hilary uses the expression 'deep moral rot' against MAGA ? How rich.

Kenneth Hall's avatar

Look at her record as a trial lawyer. The Chappaqua Horror has NEVER cared about rape victims, not one whit.

Lynette's avatar

Me too. I voted for Hillary in the 2008 primary. I left when the DNC rules committee gave Obama some of her delegates on May 31, 2008, and she never fought for the nomination. The fix was in. Democrat super delegates also mock their "democracy."

Jeffhas's avatar

100% EXACTLY the same reason for me!… what ‘Democratic Party? - my vote is worth 1/3 of a black person or Hispanic person or poor person…. Why should one person one vote not be equal? - oh because I’m privileged and I must atone. Stupid me. Fuck You Hillary - and the party… never looked back.

JJoshua's avatar

Democrats mock democracy, period

Gene Frenkle's avatar

Wait, you think the Democratic establishment blocking Hillary from becoming president is a bad thing?? 2008 was a sure thing which is why they wanted Obama over Hillary. Seems like no matter what you will complain about something?!?

Will Whitman's avatar

The word "deplorables" has stuck to HRC like dirty gum. Perhaps hating half of our republic is not a winning game besides being a bad look.

Gene Frenkle's avatar

Crooks and Tyler Robinson are bitter clinger MAGA Republicans—true DEPLORABLES!!

John Turner's avatar

Sasha Stone. Another amazing enlightened piece. If only everyone could read your work. If only we had honest reporting instead of the left wing liars. That would be a major step towards making America great again. Thanks Sasha.

t port's avatar

CNN did it for me.

Shouldn't she be in jail by now for ignoring a congressional subpoena?

Man Sasha destroyed her in this write up. Great work!

Kudos.

I’d like to give an entire paragraph to you of these…so just imagine I have please 🙏

Amusings's avatar

Only The Atlantic would miss the hilarious irony of having Hillary write a missive on empathy.

NNTX's avatar

Indeed. This from the woman who had NO empathy for her own Libyan Ambassador (Christopher Stevens) , nor those trying to defend him and that diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, after she and Barack lit the match to destroy Libya. Libya now has slaves—empathy for that and the weapons you and your CIA buddies sent to Syria and Lebanon (which lit the mass immigration to Europe, which is destroying those countries. (BTW lots of rapes of women there too). Guess those folks all qualify as “trailer trash” as you memorably described some of Bill’s conquests.

What IS empathetic is TELLING THE TRUTH and administering justice as impartially as possible, which includes dealing with ILLEGAL actions such as entering our country illegally. Those that are coddled and assuaged through wrongdoing never have the chance to reform and repent.

Not that HRC knows any of that despite her claims of a rigorous Methodist upbringing.

julia's avatar

Yes, the word Benghazi was echoing in my head the entire article. Also the word "deplorable".....the only thing Hillary never figured out is that She is deplorable.

Gene Frenkle's avatar

Trump left a Green Beret to die for 48 hours in the Niger jungle! And then when he called the Gold Star mother he forgot the hero’s name and told her he knew what he signed up for so his death was on him! And the cherry on top of the 💩 sundae was the French had to bail out the operation because Trump couldn’t be bothered to send reinforcements. So 4 Green Berets died in the terrorist ambush but it would have been much worse had a French military jet hadn’t been in the area.

julia's avatar

So......are you saying that if what you say here is true about trump, that somehow this makes hillary come out smelling like a rose?

sibyl gardner's avatar

She is about as Methodist (Christian) as my dog Miles.

Ki M's avatar

And I’m sure your dog Miles is loyal and kind despite not being Methodist.

Gene Frenkle's avatar

What about Trump and Camp Simba?? They must not have covered Trump’s Benghazi on Fox News?!? 😝

NNTX's avatar

What are you talking about? This is a base in Kenya (AFCOM), that Al Shabob attacked.

No way comparable.

Gene Frenkle's avatar

The Kenyan security guards turned tail and ran just like the Libyan security guards…except in Benghazi Stevens wanted a low profile and so local security guards made sense. At Camp Simba we had over a $100 million in air assets and so we couldn’t keep a low profile but Trump still wanted to save a buck using local security. And then Trump couldn’t figure out how to evacuate a severely burned soldier who was stuck on the tarmac for 8 hours. And then to make matters worse a few months later Trump sent the CIA on a revenge mission that was FUBAR from jump street and we lost a CIA officer that was a SEAL all for Trump’s ego. So 4 fallen Americans in Africa for what?? So Trump could bomb Yemen?? On second thought you’re right…Camp Simba is so much worse than Benghazi!!

Jim Riedel's avatar

And just the other day, Bubba Billy had the audacity to release a statement saying our current leaders are lying to us. What pc's of shit these two are.... never cared for anyone but themselves.

Texyz's avatar

...a sophisticated Bonnie and Clyde. Thieves and murderers.

JT's avatar

This from a woman who covered up for a serial sexual predator thus enabling his continued sexual abuse of women? Oh, gag me!

Tom Servo's avatar

It's even better. In Arkansas, as a defense attorney, Shrill attacked a 12 y/o rape victim on the stand to get her attacker found innocent

Pam Humphrey's avatar

didn't she joke about it afterwards?

Tom Servo's avatar

Yes, she thought it was funny

Mystic William's avatar

She laughed at how she verbally beat the young girl up.

KEVIN PEARSON's avatar

As much as I loathe them, it is the ethical duty of an attorney to do whatever it takes to represent the client

Marilyn's avatar

Laughing afterwards about what she did to the 12 year old girl shows her vicious character.

SyberPhule's avatar

'Ethical' and 'Lawyer' don't belong in the same sentence.

Mystic William's avatar

I know some ethical lawyers.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Hillary went way beyond that, though. She stated that the young victim "had a fantasy about sex with an older man"--which was an incredible statement. What a bizarre thing for Hillary to imagine was going thru that girl's head. That little girl was just walking down the street and the car with two men in it pulled up to her and snatched her up and shoved her into the car.

Hillary had to have been "projecting"...or something.

My theory has been that Hillary was herself abused as a young girl--a wound that never healed, but festered and poisoned her whole being. It would explain alot. If that is the case, she is to be greatly pitied.

Someday, in this world or the next, she will have to work that thru and find restoration of her soul.

Mystic William's avatar

It is their ethical duty to ETHICALLY represent their client. That isn’t what she did. Ii spoke with a defense criminal attorney and asked him how he deals with this. He said ‘a low IQ criminal would be put away for life for a fee meaningless crimes without defense attorneys. However, if a client is guilty it is my job to ensure he gets a fair sentence. I am not going to do anything and everything to get him off, but I will do anything and everything to make sure he is treated fairly.’

Dick Minnis's avatar

The way-back machine has exposed Alex Pretti, not as a reincarnated Florence Nightingale as depicted by Sen. Warren, but as violent confrontational angry gun carrying young man with a documented history of confrontational ICE encounters. If he had left his gun at home and protested peacefully, then he be alive today, but that wasn't his style. So he achieved he futile martyrdom and the progressive left can chalk up another media narrative lie.

Trapped in IL's avatar

We really do need a way back machine…if only!

RedPilledConservative's avatar

As a legally armed conservative myself - I saw no justification for the shooting of Pretti - even as I vehemently disagree with his politics and his prior run in with ICE where he spat at them and damaged their vehicle was a disgrace.

The gun had already been removed from Pretti and was in the possession of the ICE agent in the gray shirt as the first two shots rang out, and then the agents all backed off as 2 of the agents shot him 6 more times as he lay motionless on the pavement. WTF?!?!

You may say he resisted - maybe, but more likely he was covering his face because OC spray burns!! At no time was he reaching for his gun, his hands were up at his face!!

Sorry - this shooting stinks, and the two ICE agents should be held accountable. Do I think they deserve murder charges - probably not - but at a very minimum they demonstrated their judgement under pressure was demonstrably poor and they should be fired. IMO they likely deserve some charges along the lines of manslaughter...

Trapped in IL's avatar

A very bad situation and a very bad outcome. Homan knew this would eventually happen, and the left doesn’t really care who gets killed as long as they get restored to power.

Fran's avatar

Rights go hand-in-hand with responsibility. If you have a weapon on you, you clearly state to the officer, for your safety and theirs, “I have a weapon, it is located on my left” and you absolutely do no resist arrest. Not because you don’t have the right to carry a weapon, but because when you act in an aggressive manner towards LEO, they do not know that you have no intent to use that weapon against them. They must make a split second decision based on your behavior and the presence of a gun heightens the sense of danger.

RedPilledConservative's avatar

OC spray makes it difficult to clearly state anything.

he was disarmed - not a threat - and shot because the agents used very poor judgement.

I love you dear Sasha Stone....you make me CRY almost every time I hear your podcasts....you hit me right in my Big, Warm MAGA heart. I too am an ex-democrat liberal, social democrat who voted for Hillary and Bernie too in 2016.....but when I saw what they did to Trump, I knew they were more than wrong, they were covering up some very nasty facts about their own governance. Please continue with you noble work. Please know that we are out here and you are touching us in our heart of hearts, and reignighting the flame of patriotism for our great though beleagurered country. May almighty G-d bless you, dear Sasha Stone.

All she has to do is open her mouth and you know she’s lying. That woman has never in her lifetime ever told the truth.

Hilary Clinton is Medusa and Lady MacBeth all rolled into one.

Pam Humphrey's avatar

she has always reminded me of the bitter matron from"dr zhivago"!

And now she has become Norma Desmond, too.

Even in her repose, Hillary Clinton remains one of the most toxic persons in our body politic. She is a virtual maelstrom of malfeasance, duplicity, and corruption. Anyone who is swept into her vortex of malice and vituperation is forever stained with her taint.

Ralph Dise's avatar

"Maelstrom of malfeasance." I wish I'd thought of that phrase!

Ralph Dise's avatar

"Vortex of malice and vituperation," is damn good too!!

Trapped in IL's avatar

Love the illiteration

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Maureen Dowd of the New York Times actually got it right when she wrote a column once called "The Clinton Stain".

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Dowd was referring to the stain of corruption, how it gets on everyone in the vicinity. Certainly this stain at the top of our government has had a poisonous effect on our country. It's a type of silent destroyer. When this insidious influencer decides to talk openly, like Hillary has in this Atlantic article, it is actually repulsive. Hillary's too far gone to perceive it.

The Bible has the best name for this type of person--"whited sepulchres".

Jim Riedel's avatar

Yeah... dont touch the stain...or the dress. Just saying.

Roger J's avatar

Hillary at the Benghazi hearing: "...we have four dead Americans...what difference, at this point, does it make?" There's Hillary's "empathy."

BBS's avatar

And she has the nerve to say "lack of compassion and empathy?!" HOW can she still have a platform? And obviously, even though a lot of people have caught on, how many haven't? We have a country full of virtue signaling AWFLs for example.

Trapped in IL's avatar

Hillary is leader of the AWFLs

Thoughtful Reader's avatar

Sociopaths' defining characteristic - they lack empathy. She can say ANYTHING with a straight face, it's all just words to her. She can do anything she thinks will work, because she benefits - millions and millions of dollars of benefit. (Not to mention keeping that subpoena she and Bill are refusing out of the news...

Lea Wade's avatar

Great article Sasha. With you 100%. Love the new grit I'm hearing in your voice!

Durling Heath's avatar

Why is Hillary still talking? Hasn’t she done enough damage already? She and Obama basically tore this country in two.

Bruce Heiden's avatar

Tell it like it is, Sasha!

Jim Riedel's avatar

Empathy is something that you have to feel, and others have to see you feel it...you know it when you see someone with it. Tom Holman spoke in Minnesota yesterday.... you could see it and feel it in him for all the human pain he has seen over the years. Hillary has only seen it in the mirror when she has felt sorry for herself, ergo she doesn't have it at all since by definition it is about others. She hasn't even had it for Billy boy. I have more to say about her but I will keep this clean.

Notes from the Under Dog L.'s avatar

Here's the thing: One can feel empathy for illegal immigrants and deport them anyway. "Empathy" is not an argument. That a former candidate for president is behaving as if she's oblivious to this fortifies why she was unqualified for governance.

Paul137's avatar

Pro tip: That's Homan, not Holman. Good guy.

Jim Riedel's avatar

Fat thumb and small phone keyboard...

HRC, the perfect cluster B candidate. The left is suffering a delusional psychotic break, courtesy of the corrupt establishment mind control media's lies, distortions, and systemic dehumanization campaign. More people need to let them know they are NOT the "good guys, on the right side of history". Nope, they are emotionally unhinged mob violence crybully thugs. They are infantile. They are cowards and liars. They are BAD people. They are in fact everything they project onto their opponents. Empathy without rational boundaries is ABUSE.
