Immirgration FREEZE necessary 2026. 1/4 of USA have NO Allengence to USA. AI == There are approximately 35 to 36 million second-generation immigrants in the United States, defined as individuals born in the U.S. who have at least one foreign-born parent. Combined with the roughly 50 million first-generation immigrants, immigrant-origin individuals account for roughly one-quarter of the U.S.A

If we deport or encourage to self deport the current crop of illegals, it will remove a lot of the strain. Whoever we allow in needs to be a net benefit. Bringing in software programmers by the tens of thousands to undercut our people is not a good option. Bringing in the very best software programmer in the world is.

Time to remove the Emma Lazarus poem from the Statue of Liberty.

Martin Rossol's avatar

Not to take anything away from her poem, but she was not writing about herself [wealthy family], nor about the illegal immigrants who now are in the US [many] to "live for free", not "to breath free while contributing blood, sweat and tears to their own betterment and the betterment of the country in which they live."

My parents arrived in the US as war refugees from Poland and Romania. Penniless, although my father's uncle sponsored him. My father, often working several jobs at once, paid cash for his cars; paid off his $12,000 30-year mortgage in 19 years; and supported his wife and three children. My parents loved this country because it allowed them opportunity. They taught my siblings and me to love Her, too.

THAT is the kind of person we want in the country, and of whom I believe Emma Lazarus was writing.

That was all about exerting downward pressure on wages.

Why not a caveat label:

"Poetry<>Policy; the sentiments in this poem are not to be taken as an official policy of the US Government or its agents. The poem was written to fundraise for the SoL and has no other applicable purpose."

Trump’s has enacted sweeping measures to drastically reduce both LEGAL and unauthorized immigration to the U.S. Key actions to curb these numbers include aggressive deportation drives, broad suspensions of immigrant and asylum processing, and new requirements for green card applicants to return to their home countries

Davemon's avatar

And God. Bless Him For That! Thanks for highlighting just a few of his remarkably brilliant amd effective America First accomplishments!!

NWCitizen's avatar

I was replying to Orenv who thought trump should have: "Also a mass swearing in of new citizens who WENT THROUGH THE PROPER PROCESS." That doesn't make sense since Trump (and the vile S. Miller) want to cut all immigration (except white S. African farmers).

100% Invite real people. I'm sick of the celebrity worship.

MichaelH: Storyteller's avatar

Amen to that! It's nice to be entertained but to have the ideology of an entertainer forced onto me is another story. Using their certainty stage to push ANY personal beliefs, left or right, is not the reason I like that person's music, movies, writing and so on. If anything, these celebrities pushing an ideology I don't agree with only pushes me away from being a fan at all. There are bands that I will avoid listening to and will NEVER support financially ever again because of their extreme views and BASHING and SHAMING of anyone who dares disagree.

I really like this idea. As a disabled Army veteran and an emerging comedian, I would love to share my humorous take on the truth that I tell.

Does anyone find it just too much of a cosmic coincidence that the country's 250th anniversary and the 200th anniversary of the first failure of socialism – in America no less – are happening in the same year?

DLEducator's avatar

If people only knew… it is hubris on the part of all those people embracing socialism to think that this time “we” will make it work.

Lady Mariposa's avatar

I'm sorry to sound stupid, but what happened in 1826?

D Parker's avatar

My apologies, I was in a rush to post my comment, so I didn't elaborate.

It was 200 years ago in the little village of New Harmony in the extreme southwestern corner of the frontier territory of Indiana of all places that saw one of the first experiments in socialism.

These days, and for obvious reasons, Leftists don't seem to want to talk or even claim they know about it.

100 years ago, they were a lot more keen about the concept and celebrated what was then 100th anniversary in 1926:

New York Times April 4, 1926

NEW HARMONY IS CENTURY OLD; Robert Owens's Ill Starred Communistic Colony In Indiana Was The Rendezvous Of Famous Men How It Was Broken Up

https://archive.org/details/new-harmony-is-century-old-robert-owenss-ill-starred-communistic-colony-in-india

EXACTLY one hundred years ago, in a little village in the extreme southwestern corner of the frontier territory of Indiana, the first purely communistic experiement in America, devoid of religious aspect, was launched. At th : me time and in the same place, moreover, the first free school, the first coeducational school, and the first prohibition ordinance in this country were tried. And, incidentally, with that short-lived adventure began Indiana's distinction in literature and the arts and sciences notwithstanding the fact that the village was located in Posey County. That name, through several recent decades, was for some inexplicable reason a stage symbol of clownish rusticity.

Marilyn's avatar

Thanks for explaining that. I never heard about that before! I bet most people have never heard about that.

D Parker's avatar

No worries. The really odd thing about that is that many of the Left don't have the first clue about this.

JudyC's avatar

Very interesting, and I had never heard of this!

Lady Mariposa's avatar

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Oddly, I had heard of New Harmony since it was mentioned in a book on Urban Planning in North America that I read in grad school. It's in a chapter about towns founded by religious groups. At least according to the book, the town was originally founded an offshoot of the Lutherans led by George Rapp. In the mid-1820s they sold the town to Robert Owens.

I must have read that over thirty years ago and I wasn't yet as critical and skeptical of leftist ideas as I am now. I'll have to look at that again.

I the years since, I've become far more skeptical of the utopian roots underlying many urban planning ideas. That may be one of the reasons I've like Joel Kotkin's writings so much.

I LOVE this! I always want to know what the average Joe and Joelle are thinking over a celebrity. I prefer those interviews. The everyday American voice needs to be heard.

The best part of the 2024 Republican Convention were the testimonials by ordinary citizens! It was close to how the Founders imagined citizen representation to be. Very Powerful and far more interesting than hearing from infamous pundits and celebrities. Trump started Strong at that event, but droned on far to long. He needs open the ceremonies, step away and let the American Citizens do the lifting of the Masses!

Peter Schy's avatar

Screw the "celebrities" on the left AND the right.

Get talented people you've never heard of to perform.

Have regular citizens tell their stories.

Show scenes of this huge and beautiful country.

Don't play to any side, celebrate!

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

Well celebrities could participate IF they are there to celebrate America’s birthday.

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

They can take a seat in the crowd or stand along the parade route, it is a still a relatively free Country.

Ol’ Country Gal's avatar

Excellent idea! You need to be Trump’s party planner.

Great idea…

The Left NEVER has an answer to, If America is such a Godawful, racist, hateful country, WHY is America the NUMBER ONE destination from AROUND THE WORLD that people want to come to? There are more languages spoken here, there is no other country as ethnically and racially diverse as America and it’s it’s NOT EVEN CLOSE…

Lisa Ricketts's avatar

That is why most of us don't believe the Legacy Media messages of doom, gloom and oppression. What person, in their right mind, immigrates into an oppressive regime! DUH!

I want AI to bring back Paul Harvey, Rush Limbaugh, Ronald Reagan and Charlie Kirk each for 5 minute of pure inspirational rhetoric for the huddled masses.

Excellent idea--can you get it to the event producers? America's Got 250 Talents!

You have a skill for getting to the heart of the matter. With all of the rancor, mainly from the left, you have to give credit to the Marxists./socialists/ communists. They have played the long game starting in our educational institutions from kindergarten through post graduate. They have groomed at least two generations of AntiAmericans. The republic will collapse under the weight of our suicidal empathy (Gad Saad) my prayer is that the next thing will not be so bad.
