An often forgotten aspect of Trump is that he and his parents were big fans of Norman Vincent Peale. For all his New York roughness Trump is still a positive thinker, and that energy is part of his charisma.
I love how you framed this reportage, as a once-blindly loyal anti-Trumper. And I love how you said you still cringe. I'm an Independent since 2007, when I could no longer be that blindly loyal Dem. And Trump makes me cringe on a daily basis! But the bigger picture is, I voted for him all 3 times because he was the better choice each election. When voters can strip off their idealism and realize voting is totally and completely a lesser evil choice and nothing more, maybe we will be able to progress from this political abyss.
The speech wasn’t as funny or as searing as I had hoped. But I marvel that the man even has the energy to stay up that late, let alone give any kind of a public presentation into the evening. His energy was low, and who could blame him for it, considering the variety and magnitude of the problems he faces every day. I give him a mulligan.

He is a thousand times more gracious than Biden ever was to any press, but heir hatred blinds them. Critical thought is gone in this America, at least in the media. And he knows how to rile them up. Should he shut up from time to time? I've given up on that. Since he burst on the scene and every day thereafter, the MSM and every jackhole charity case in Congress - which trickles down to their low-IQ and godless supporters- is to take everything he says literally and ignore what he does. But with someone as senile as Biden, we were instructed to divine the meaning behind his unintelligible ravings, certainly not to take it literally. After all, white literate people are an existential threat to a country built by ... white literate settlers.
So, one day Trump is crazy and stupid. The next day he is playing 4-D chess.
I have had enough trouble with regular chess, and I'm a Mensan. Chess is a hard game no matter whom you play. Sometimes it's even harder if your opponent doesn't know how to play.

I hope and pray that President Trump will live out his term, and that the Secret Service is on top of everything and with hyper-awareness. I was in the Army infantry in OEF. I'm hyper-aware and I am not the POTUS.

I think Rubio is the better choice, even though the VP is usually the heir apparent. But I don't think I can trust Vance to not be a welfare-minded individual, big on internal spending and immature on foreign policy. Rubio is simply more intelligent. confidant, and he guarantees all Hispanic votes. He's more articulate and unshaken by any congresswoman/men or any Senator. He is smarter than Donald trump, smarter than Vance, smarter than most. And Sarah Huckabee Sanders should be his VP. Boom.
