While recently working in Washington DC I saw the work being done on fountains thru out the city. Outside of Union Station is the Columbus Fountain. Along with the amazing architecture of Union Station the Columbus fountain welcomes travelers (by train or metro) to the north side of Capitol Hill. Our fountains and the reflecting pool should be spiffed up. Maybe that will engender some pride.
