SO, if this body of water ends up with two names for some period of time or maybe forever who cares? Canada has lost its ever loving mind - inviting in China, charging outrageous tariffs and thinking there will be no pushback, dismantling their military and expecting to enjoy the fruits of ours at no cost - they even want the protection of the missile Golden Dome. Really? Nations don't provide those kinds of protections to other nations which don't behave like allies. And right now Canada is not behaving like an ally. Here's a newsflash Canada - you are in the American hemisphere. You are not Europe. And if you want to pretend you are Europe go ahead. Don't expect us to foot the bills for your delusions. This is a kerfuffle our neighbors to the north should reconsider - Lake America notwithstanding.
I voted for President Trump three times, and I don't regret it at all, but I am upset about this renaming of Lake Ontario. Is is ridiculous and petty. Seems like there are much more important things he should be concerned about, like what happened to stopping the Ukraine war, what happened to no new wars, what happened to draining the swamp, and the Epstein thing was a total fiasco. I am ok with renaming the Gulf of Mexico, but it would have been more diplomatic to call it Gulf of THE Americas. It's still Lake Ontario as far as I'm concerned.
Interestingly both USA and Canada are in America, North America in particular. Lake America is actually unifying. Lake USA or Lake Canada would be separating.
