SO, if this body of water ends up with two names for some period of time or maybe forever who cares? Canada has lost its ever loving mind - inviting in China, charging outrageous tariffs and thinking there will be no pushback, dismantling their military and expecting to enjoy the fruits of ours at no cost - they even want the protection of the missile Golden Dome. Really? Nations don't provide those kinds of protections to other nations which don't behave like allies. And right now Canada is not behaving like an ally. Here's a newsflash Canada - you are in the American hemisphere. You are not Europe. And if you want to pretend you are Europe go ahead. Don't expect us to foot the bills for your delusions. This is a kerfuffle our neighbors to the north should reconsider - Lake America notwithstanding.

I live near a suburban lake where some of the people living adjacent always have Progressive signs in their yard.
This year I created a petition to get signatures to request bequeathing the local park 50 yards away to develop a homeless shelter for Native Americans since the land their houses sit on is stolen land.
Now there are a lot fewer progressive signs for candidates in their yards.

The current occupants get to name the places they control. My point is we have museums precisely to preserve the past, since stuff changes. A museum is the way to honor the past, rather than rolling back the clock from the present

I just realized what Trump is doing. It is what professional stage magicians call "misdirection". There are far better educated and knowlegeable analysts & commentors than me, who are explaining that Trump is ditching the "City of London System" of economics, and remaking the "Hamiltonian'American" system of economics. We can't stop globalization, but Trump is giving it an American re-balance. Something like that. I think that's good.

I actually don’t really care about him changing the name. It’s a little funny worth a chuckle but I don’t care that much. Know what I care about? Illegals costing our country so much money, illegals voting, medical freedom, small government, individual freedoms being protected. These are a few of the big things. A name change not so much. Also, give me a break! Presidents change names of bases all the time. The left took down monuments, forced sports team name changes.

I think politics today is less Fd up then people tend to think, because their grasp of history is tenuous. I remember that what sparked the infamous Burr v. Hamilton duel was that Burr supporters put out that Hamilton had sex with his daughter. And then they put together some witnesses, a Doctor, crossed into NJ where dueling was not illegal and shot at each other.
Now, while some might think it would be an improvement to have some of these politicians, on both sides, just gun each other down in a nice, safe, out of the way place where no one else could get hurt-and I'm a tiny bit sympathetic to that view- taking some of this too serious and getting depressed about the direction of our national discourse should be met with some context.
Things are bad, but there's a point at which you just shrug, point at the clowns doing and saying silly things, and enjoy the show - and a point at which you actually bother to get outraged. And that's the point.
People supporting a lunatic who kills a father because he runs a healthcare company, without any real evidence of wrongdoing- in fact, many people putting the burden of guilt on the murdered victim- yeah that's up there. Siding with terrorists in Iran and Gaza? Yeah, that's bad. None of that is popcorn popping stuff. Hating the free market, wealth, and advances in technology, medicine, and longevity?
