If you check out the history of the Fabian Society, you'll see that elites cosplaying as socialists has a long history.

Brian M's avatar

How do you do it, Sasha?! How do you always know the exact right movie clip with the words to match your theme?

D Parker's avatar

Have you ever noticed that the leftist ruling class always consists of rich people?

The Fabians advocate(d) for non-radical, methodical change tho....Piker is just a whackjob

Rick's avatar

The Fabians were tea sipping wannabe communists. Your view / historical understanding of them is seriously incorrect.

Take a breath Rick. Ffs

Rick's avatar

Seriously. Why don't you be ?

He is disgusting. You watched 12 more minutes than I could tolerate; thanks for doing that for us. Great article!

Ruth H's avatar

After one minute I quit. These people thinking stealing is ok while they have much and I doubt ever donate or help anyone. Socialists slugs.

Matt L.'s avatar

I no longer listen to podcasters like Piker (or Ben). Their schtick is to raise your blood pressure one way or the other. I don’t need that rolling around my head or coming out my mouth in conversations with family or friends.

Ruth H's avatar

So very true. I don’t listen to any podcasts. I prefer reading. Most of these podcasters like to hear their own voice too much.

Matt L.'s avatar

I also find myself these days deleting some Substack emails that come over that are rage bait. Sadly, this one from Sasha fits sort of that bill. But here I am ;) ….my wife and I have gotten into habit of listening to prayer app, right after we turn off lights for sleep. It’s a sort of 5min or so meditation on the day, alternating between soothing male and female voices that places me in good frame of mind (gratefulness to God) to drift off.

This is the one we use:

https://lectio365.com/

I also prefer reading! I’m currently a quarter way through ‘The Power Broker’ which traces the rise and fall of Robert Moses (New York). Everything this early ‘progressive’ did was copied by many other cities and States.

Ruth H's avatar

What a lovely way to end the day. I love how you take this time to do as a couple. Very important. I have a Bible app I start my day with their ‘daily verse of the day’ and then read the whole chapter. I do this before any social media, which includes substack.

Matt L.'s avatar

You sound like my wife! She does bible study to start each day. My spouse is beautiful inside and out. But her love for Christ is the most important and valuable thing. It has sustained our marriage through good times and bad. We are also regular church goers, and my Catholic mass especially is like a mini-easter each week. While I kneel in pew after Communion, part of that time is eyes closed and asking for God's blessing on my entire lineage, starting with those still living, and then all the dead I know. It's a sort of meditation that leaves me feeling refreshed and grounded.

Leslie Deak's avatar

I made it 4 min before getting sick to my stomach. I just keep thinking there's got to be some karma out there that might drop a big rock on his head.

There is no possible way I could care any less about a brain dead, self-entitled, radical left, mentally challenged LOSER. Why even talk about him? I don't get it. What's next, an article about the harpies on the Vue? No One Cares!

Sgd427's avatar

The sneering, arrogant, insular left is one of the PRIMARY reasons I didn't choose to go back to the mental health field and move to NYC. Therapists shouldn't be activists and yet the entire field has become exactly that. Arrogance and ignorance aren't a great combination and yet they have much of both. Bless you Sasha 🙏

Not so young anymore.'s avatar

I’m sure having an activist therapist doesn’t help any patient.

Sgd427's avatar

Not at all. Therapy should be a sacred space and the therapist's personal politics should never EVER enter into how they treat someone.

Not so young anymore.'s avatar

Before 10/7 my I went to a Jewish therapist who is very lefty (I’m Jewish and not lefty) for some issues. While I was aware of her political affiliations (it came from her only) I felt she was an excellent therapist in other ways and continued until I felt we were done with the issue. After 10/7 there were a few occasions when I wanted to have a therapy session or two but I wouldn’t go to see her. I just couldn’t. I didn’t want any of her political stuff to spill over ever again and just avoided her. My friend also very pro Israel was considering seeing a therapist to deal with issues relating to husband having early stage dementia, knew this therapist and thought highly of her but after 10/7 just didn’t want to be there.

Sgd427's avatar

Aww I totally understand. I'm sorry about that:( This is a difficult time to be alive- for many reasons- and we all deserve support. If you're in the US and need to talk to someone you can always call 988, the nationwide crisis line, 24/7. I'm not suggesting that in place of therapy just as an additional support. Good luck and God bless.

Rick's avatar

Most therapisses don’t want to fix the client. That would cut off the medicaid payment gravy train.

Tim Hurlocker's avatar

Someone should ask Hasan Piker what he thinks of Maximillian Robespierre, and the phrase, "a taste of your own medicine."

Steve G's avatar

Any idiot should realize that people like Piker start talking about socialism or eat the rich or any of that blather they mean using your money not theirs!

DavidK's avatar

Agree this is almost impossible to listen to.

Piker and that barbi doll he is pontificating with are the epitome of narcissistic hypocrites. Neither one of them appears to have ever had a “union job” or for that matter even a callous or blister. Somehow the video brings to mind the South Park episode where everyone in San Francisco is farting into wine glasses and sniffing them.

When you steal from Whole Foods, Bezos is completely unaffected. Who is affected? The bagger. The checkout person. The stockers. Eventually Whole Foods closes and these hourly people lose their jobs. Insurance pays and then raises the rates for everyone else (including “the poor”). These rich sh*ts are stealing for fun, and not caring one ounce about the downstream effects. Screw the bagging lady. I’m against The Man. Commies can’t think more than one move ahead. They should stick with checkers.

But these people aren’t commies either. They are grifters. If the “revolution” arose they would starve to death. I wonder how Tolentino or whatever her name is would fare in a chaotic world where buildings were burning and bands of angry armed men were roaming the street looking for food , and well, people who look like her. They live in luxury, pretend to be philosophers, and grift away.

Boogie's avatar

Everyone has to shop somewhere. Whole foods is a choke point for the ooh la la. It's at the same time a foot hold for sister soldiers. What gives?

John's avatar

I’d laugh so hard if someone beat the snot out of Piker.

Dims Stink's avatar

I'll only laugh when he's dead

Steve's avatar

No, Servery Hampered will do + Broke and Homeless, In Hunts Point in January

Dims Stink's avatar

You need to toughen-up.

We need these Dims dead. 100 million of them.

Shoot'em, bomb'em, gas'em. We rebuild on their ashes.

You do know some Leftist (Democrat) people say the same thing about Republicans?

Say that happens Then What Happens?

READ A BOOK!

Dims Stink's avatar

Then we have a war that we better win.

If seven of theirs die for every three of ours, it's a big win.

So maybe you better READ A BOOK like Martino's Tryanny or Bandit Country, which teaches how the IRA made mortars.

Ratification: The People Debate the Constitution, 1787-1788

Pauline Maier

In this splendid new history, Pauline Maier tells the dramatic story of the yearlong battle over ratification that brought such famous founders as Washington, Hamilton, Madison, Jay, and Henry together with less well-known Americans who sometimes eloquently and always passionately expressed their hopes and fears for their new country. Men argued in taverns and coffeehouses; women joined the debate in their parlors; broadsides and newspaper stories advocated various points of view and excoriated others. In small towns and counties across the country people read the document carefully and knew it well. Americans seized the opportunity to play a role in shaping the new nation. Then the ratifying conventions chosen by "We the People" scrutinized and debated the Constitution clause by clause.

Piker, def, A person regarded as petty or stingy.

Jeff Keener's avatar

It's their moral vanity that makes them so contemptible.

Shooter 6's avatar

Ultimately, taken to its logical extreme, when there are no consequences for aberrant behavior, this is the result. It's hard not to conclude that Hasan Piker hasn't been hard-slapped up-side his head often enough.

Orwell’s Rabbit's avatar

Of course the ultimate irony is that when these people steal from “big corporations” they’re actually stealing from you and me. When corporations sustain extra losses, they pass that expense on to the consumers. So, every time someone steals from a store, the customers are the victims. I estimate (gut feeling) that at least 5% of current inflation for consumer goods is the result of increased shoplifting…it’s probably more like 10%, but I’ll be conservative in my estimate.

Reading about Gen Zs who want everything free without working reminds me of a colleague I worked with at the District of Columbia Public Library, a government-fundesld institution. She complained about having to work on some day that others had off. She topped off her complaint with, "That's capitalism for you." What the younger gens don't understand is that people still have to work under socialism and communism. And you got hungry and angry in the process.

Debby's avatar

They’re LAZY!!! And on top that, they’re dumb. I’m glad I’ll be gone before they take over.

Ataraxis's avatar

Since this moral reprobate is a gay muslim, why doesn’t someone ask him about gay life in the Middle East?

Every reference to this dope should be written as Hasan “Shock Collar” Piker.

Debby's avatar

Thank you, I will do just that. I should have thought to include something like that to my posts about him.

Ataraxis's avatar

So Mr. Shock Collar is cruel to dogs, then calls for “social murder” of someone he doesn’t like. There’s a link of extreme mental instability there.

Debby's avatar

He’s retarded mentally, I just think he’s evil.
