"I don’t need to know anything else about El-Sayed except that he refused to say whether or not Iran was a bigger threat than Israel." Ditto. His refusal spoke volumes.

He is actually on record as being pro-Iranian and IRGC. He is pro-Hamas and Hezbollah which is pretty much the same thing as pro-IRGC since that is who those terrorist organizations report to. Rashida Tlaib is also pro-Hezbollah (as is a lot of Dearborn which is heavily Lebanese Palestinian). We have a cancer developing in America and that is its nexus

Good for Haley! She immediately boosts my respect for her. I thought she was a little silly in the primaries, but a good-hearted, moderate Democrat. I was not surprised she lost as she was steamrolled by the far Left on Michigan campuses at UM in Ann Arbor and MSU, plus the heavy Muslim population in Dearborn and elsewhere around the state. But she decided her political career is not worth aligning with Marxism / Islamism so she joined forces with GOP moderate Mike Rogers. We need a lot more of that, like JFK, Jr and Tulsi Gabbard joining Trump

She's not "moderate at all". She is acceptable only in comparison to the Muslim Brotherhood guy.

Rep. Haley Stevens has voted with the Democratic Party — and by extension, with Rep. Hakeem Jeffries — in about 97% of recorded roll‑call votes, making her one of the most party‑loyal Democrats in the current Congress

Well they hate her now.

that is what I am saying. I am a formerly moderate Democrat. The line has moved so far left

And yet she spoke courageously forsaking her career for what is good and true. That’s redemption.

Basically what this shows is how petrified the rest of the Democratic Party is of the Far Left Wing.

If you look on the Washington Post version of the story, you will see an outpouring of shocking antisemitism claiming that she was “bought off with Jewish money“. It said over and over again. And that response tells you exactly what’s happening to the Democratic Party.

I don't know what it will take to awaken the traditional Democrat who is simply waddling along mumbling "I don't care who as long as it's Blue."

If one doesn't give one's body and money to "the cause" the Jacobins want you dead, or working as slave labor.

Mind you, these are the very same donkeys who were cheering on and beautifying Adam Kitzinger and Liz Cheney for betraying their party during the Get Trump and anyone who supports him pogrom.

Watching them eat each other is beyond delicious. Bring on the schadenfreude.

...the hysteria from the democrats is really kind of amusing ... whatever happened to the speaking truth to power people? ... saying America deserved 9/11 gets you an invitation to the democrat big tent, saying I don't agree with that gets you booted ...

I was proud of her too, when she said, "The unity of the country take priority over loyalty to the party."

I heard that from my Dad, a Republican party organizer who sometimes voted Democrat, in the 1960s, but have rarely heard it since, until today.

She is more of a shomer than you know who.

No Chuck the last thing Sayed will be fighting for is Michigan Families, you can guarantee the last thing on his mind is people from Michigan

Chuck sent 10 million for Sayed- disgusting

Well, he cares about some ofthem

Haley Stevens and John Fetterman in this corner. Schumer, Slotkin and Nessel in the other corner. Enough said?

"She deserves all the hate". There you have it, straight from the "hate has no home here" people. But we knew that

I’ve frequently wondered where the statesmen and stateswomen are in the Democrat party. So far it’s only been Fetterman. This woman is a breath of fresh air. She may not have a career in the Democrat party, but she definitely has a career. Courage can be contagious. Fingers crossed.

Her endorsement is huge.

God bless both her and Mike Rogers.

I made fun of Stevens for her resemblance to a female Chris Farley. I made fun of John Fetterman for his appearance as well. Just goes to show you can't always judge a book by its cover and integrity sometimes comes in places where you least expect it.

Stevens is going to pay a heavy price for this as I'm sure she knows. If by some miracle el Sayed loses and it costs the Dems control of the Senate, she will probably have to move and have security. The white-hot hatred that the Dems are displaying now is scary.

They aren't going to lose. Midterms always mirror the Virginia elections of the year prior, unless there is a substantive reason to think otherwise. Democrats will outperform their polls by 3-5 points everywhere.

there is only one thing that matters to Democrats, Winning they will sell their soul and their children to win. The report that half of Haley Stevens staff quit over her decision shows you just how morally corrupt they are. They would rather vote for a person who thinks Hitlers solution to the Jewish problem was right than to lose.

Personally, if the Dems barred me forever from being one of them, I would regard that at the supreme honor for a live well-lived.

Midlife Musings's avatar

They seem to abhor anyone who thinks/acts for themselves. I am incredibly impressed with her. How many “moderate” Dems have caved and won’t stand up to these far left DSA candidates? They will regret it if/when they take over their party.
