THE VIEW should be next.

It SHOULD, but unfortunately, I don't think it will. ABC needs one echo chamber to keep as their cash cow, and for how long The View has been on air, it doesn't sound that simple, despite its obvious intentions.

Cash cow and its no worse than Gutfeld with the rhetoric Jimmy Kimmel I suspected was losing money.

There's not a rising body count associated with Gutfeld or any other right-of-center commentator.

He just went on a pretty epic tirade at Tarlov about the useless dishonesty of equivocation. You might find it enlightening if you hunt up the clip.

Nor Colbert, Kimmel or the View none of them have a bodycount. Yes they can be toxic, vulgar but I see the same from Megyn Kelly and Gutfeld its mutual destruction and if everyone if lightning in the mud I stopped giving a fuck.

They aren't the same. The View has told so many blatant lies, all their noses should be long enough so they could operate the cameras that are pointed at them.

My comment on Racket:

“Frankly my dear, I don’t care”. The MSM is complicit with the Democrats and other actors like our school system, to over 50 years of indoctrinating about half of our country. This is a mild step to bring back sanity. Maybe there is something to “pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered”.

One thing for the public and the network to take him down, another for the government to pressure them to do so under spurious pretexts. Then again it's hard to see that airing Jimmy Kimmel's views is serving the public interest, unless the ABC is representing a suitable range of diverse views besides his.

I agree... good riddance! I never understood why Jimmy Kimmel had an audience. He is the definition of a$$hole. He has no good words to say to anyone. He stirs the pot dividing the country and pitting people against one another for his so-called laughs. I believe deeply in karma. This is a very good example

...and perhaps above all, Kimmel is a hypocrite. Check out his old 'The Man Show' episodes. The pondscum who embraces all forms of wokeness now for the sake of virtue signaling used to close all of his shows with slow motion video of scantily-dressed women jumping on trampolines - misogyny on steroids.

Seems like he's simply found religion. Doesn't necessarily make him a hypocrite to be converted to the Replacement Ideology, as ugly a religion as it is. He probably truly believes he is a better person than he was, as he believes he is a much better person than at least half the country. :-/

I did not say that all Democrats are evil and I don't believe that. But Obama pulled the Democrat party far left from what it had been for most of my life (I voted Democrat from the time I could vote - back in 1978 or so - till 7 years ago). I voted for Obama twice in fact. But those on the far left are in control of the party now, and many of them are saying truly evil things about the murder of Charlie Kirk. I have no idea who God is going to strike down. God bless you.

Ohh good. I couldn’t stand that smug garbage show. I remember how many late night shows; Fallon, Seth M, T Noah were given a narrative telling “jokes” about Julian Assange while he was illegally kidnapped from political sovereign territory of the embassy by the U.S./UK , deprived a shaving kit (to appear more the “shady hacker). My liberal relatives were mindlessly repeating the narrative. I never heard those “comics” apologize. Idk even know if they realize what they did. The “useful idiots” of power.

Charlie Kirk had more integrity and love in his little finger than all of them together have in their whole souls.

I hate to say it in his defense, but canceling a comedian because he said something "insensitive and offensive" (and absurdly wrong both factually and morally) is still but 6a good precedent for the Right to follow.

Absolutely, we can hold professionals like teachers, doctors, etc to neutral standards like not discriminating on race (white), religion (Christian), and not publicly endorsing violent or criminal acts (murder), that's violations of their terms of employment, but being offensive isn't against any professional standard of comedy, it's frankly often a requirement of comedy. I agree that what Kimmel said was bad, but Charlie himself rejected this kind of cancellation over offensive speech, so I'm concerned that we dishonor his memory if we use his death as an excuse to act in ways that violate his principles. Let Kimmel make an ass out of himself on TV and let the rest of the world see exactly what kind of man he and his audience are. Let him be a disgrace to his side... But don't let him provoke us into disgracing ours too.

Steven, what you don't understand is that for TWO DECADES the left controlled everything. The media, the internet, academia where you were a leper where you were afraid to say what you thought, if you did you lived in fear (job, friends, etc. etc.)

And now you want to be fair. That's humorous. Honestly you were complicit all along and in some small way now you're kind of apologetic. You really don't get where the left was at and how they manipulated everything. YES the 2020 election was stolen. Do yourself a favor and read what Tulsi has released. Do that before you post any more of your anal shit. I think you need to revisit the way you view things. Seriously.

Expand full comment
Steven's avatar

It's been more than two decades, I'm old enough to remember watching it happen from personal experience, and yes the 2020 election was probably stolen. And? You're clearly unfamiliar with me or my comment history regarding Free Speech issues and leftist censorship and arguing at FIRE that university professors CAN and SHOULD be fired for comments celebrating a murder on campus. None of which changes the fact that two wrong don't make a right. This isn't what Charlie believed in and we can't claim his name or his death to be doing exactly what he argued AGAINST. We do need to be better than the Left, not disarmed, not passive, not weak, but better. Gifford's posing with a severed Trump head was a firing worthy offense because it celebrated and encouraged an assassination... Kimmel just blaming the wrong side and making light of people's grief doesn't rise to that level.

We have plenty of completely valid targets for legitimate complaints under existing law and employment agreements, let's not repeat the mistakes of the Left by indiscriminately overreaching. "I disagree with you, but I can't persuade you or legally silence you, so I'm going to remove you an illegal way" is how the assassin thought, not how Charlie thought. Consider carefully which of those two men we should emulate going forward.

This doesn't look like Kimmel was canned. It just looks like one group that owns a bunch of stations decided not to carry his show anymore. Not sure how many channels that affects (i.e. how big of a loss of audience), but it's a start. I'm done with these people trying to justify or "but the left/right" this whole thing. They jumped right past the part when a man was murdered in front of his wife and small children, and then they try to justify or explain it. I have no use for people like that. They didn't kill him because he was a "Nazi", they called him a "Nazi" because they wanted to kill him.

I don't mind Kimmel's employers dropping him but I am very uncomfortable with the government, the FCC, defining what's in the "public good" and implying threat or pressure to lose livelihood if they don't fire folks who cross some line that's not defamation or libel. Didn't we just live through the days where speaking out against the jab was considered against the "public good" and people lost jobs for it? Do we really want a conservative's "Ministry of Truth"?
