J6 prosecutions were a textbook example of how the Left lies. The word "insurrection" couldn't be a charge, because it would have been a suicidal charge for the prosecution. Instead, they charged "trespassing", then editorialized "insurrection" in the media and social media.
As a result, million of Leftists regard "insurrection" as a charge "proven in court", and they will never be convinced otherwise for the rest of their lives.
Well they did deliberately mis-apply 1512c2 feeling charges of obstruction (with the activist judge in question admitting the law did not have application in the charges situation but she would make it apply anyway because Trump) while seriously with a straight face arguing that literally anyone who showed up to protest regardless of conduct should be eligible for such charges because they were protesting government action with the intent for the government to change course, therefore it is a crime of obstruction that supersedes the 1A. And when pointed out that this same interpretation could be used to jail left wing protestors for, say, pro- choice protests or any other left wing cause, they just as seriously argued nuh-unh because Trump.

If my son married a liberal radical and it resulted in her "punishing" the grandparents for their political views, and thus eliminating the benefit of her child to have a relationship with his/her grandparents, my son would have got a lot of early feedback from us as to the consequences of his family life going through with the marriage.

You will find a word that you & your compatriots always overlook - “intentional.” There must be an “intentional” killing of some group because of some defining factor (race, religion, ethnicity, etc.). You lose the claim of intentionality when those accused of genocide take unheard of efforts to save the population & minimize death. These actions taken by the IDF include millions of phone calls, texts, & drones with speakers telling people in areas to be bombed or attacked to leave, even as it gave Hamas a heads up to prepare. You cannot deny these facts. They include using IDF soldiers to clear & guard evacuation routes for fleeing civilians. Providing tents, food, water, medicine for the population you say is targeted for genocide. Providing free medical treatment for civilians.

These actions taken by the IDF include millions of phone calls, texts, & drones with speakers telling people in areas to be bombed or attacked to leave, even as it gave Hamas a heads up to prepare. You cannot deny these facts. They include using IDF soldiers to clear & guard evacuation routes for fleeing civilians. Providing tents, food, water, medicine for the population you say is targeted for genocide. Providing free medical treatment for civilians.

Using the lower end of Hamas/militia fighter death & upper end of civilian death estimates, the IDF (or friendly fire) has killed 15,000 fighters & 50,000 civilians. That’s 3.3 civilians dead to 1 fighter. Almost 1/3 of the modern average. Is the IDF simply that bad at genocide?

Most people don’t realize how small the Gaza Strip is. It is so small (7.5x25 miles at widest) that IDF artillery could reach every inch from miles inside Israel. They could have flattened Gaza from safely within their borders using cheap 155mm HE rounds (range around 14 miles). The IAF owned the skies & could have used conventional bombs to flatten Gaza. Instead, they sent troops into harm’s way to minimize civilian casualties. They used expensive precision guided bombs. Since 10/7/23, 964 Israeli troops have died; per capita, that would be like 33,000 US troops being killed. That’s about the number of US troops that died in the Korean War.

There is hope rising. I am a Los Angeles resident and just had coffee with my blue haired artist friend. She quietly asked about my temporary move to Florida in 2022-24 and whether it was “political “ in any way. I blandly replied, “I am a Republican.” Politics had never been a topic before as I knew she was a Hillary supporter… to my shock , she said she had an awakening as to the meanness and closed minded nature of the left and how much her party was changed. We chatted about my change (during the Clinton years) and hers (within the last few months)… everything was on the table- fraud, Bass, buying votes on Skid Row, Trump, socialism etc. This is a blue haired 70 something artist…. She is appalled and awake. There is hope!!
My sister was very much a "bleeding heart liberal." My own change occurred in 2015. It's taken her longer, but she has been shifting rightward as well. She has begun to notice that the left never brings about the positive change they claim to want.

I think there were problems beyond the participation of the Soviet Union. Some of the the crimes alleged were not crimes when they were committed. Waging aggressive war is a good example. A lot of others were perfectly legal in the time and place committed. And the hypocrisy was not limited to the Soviets. The defense lawyer for Doenitz called Admiral Nimitz as a defense witness. He testified that he had done exactly the same thing to the Japanese and would do it again. Nevertheless, Doenitz was convicted although he was not executed. The rehabilitation of a number of the accused and their incorporation in the NATO command structure when it was convenient further highlights this.
