The judge instructed the jury: "there are several possible charges here, you can pick whichever you like" which is an absurd instruction. From the Upper West Side of Manhattan, I've moved to a conservative area of a "blue" state, and I'm surprisingly happy. If one's politics have changed and socializing with hard leftists has become difficult, moving to an aggressively left wing area of a red state won't help. You'll be able to avoid the destructive far left policies, but your neighbors will still hate you.
My husband and I have spent a lot of time discussing if we will move when he retires, so we've thought quite a bit about this subject. He would like to return to California or Oregon where he grew up, but the politics of both states will probably prevent us from doing that.
If there are politically moderate or conservative areas just outside of Austin, that would sound pleasant.
I haven't voted for progressives for a while now. I never considered myself "far left," more of a "classical liberal," but since 2015 I've been actively on guard against progressives.
