I'm so happy to hear this! I was holding my breath as I clicked the notification with "Jasper" in the title.

Flea medication nearly killed one of our cats.

Never again.

Bathe, brush, and control where in the outdoors your pets go.

Cedarcide makes a great nontoxic flea and tick spray. It’s just cedar oil.

Good news indeed!

I just read an article, although it was about older people not dogs but still relevant I think, that stated people are given so many meds that either make a problem worse or start another problem. That could have been the case with Jasper.

Dogs are so stoic

They suffer in silence

Happy to hear that he’s better. That first pic, he’s a happy boy.

Such great news. After antibiotics, though, you will need to rebuild his gut biome. There are supplements for that; you can 'google' them. But it would be great is if you swapped out traditional medicine for Jasper and moved to homeopathy. I have come to rely on this magazine (it's free to read online) for my dogs' health: https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com

It has a searchable database. They recommend the following as the best "antibiotics" for dogs:

oil of oregano, manuka honey, olive leaf, plantain, goldenseal, yarrow, calendula, turmeric, as well as a few others. I just healed a 7 month old lick sore on our malinois' paw with plantain that I picked in the yard. Our vet wanted to put her on something that would mildly sedate her along with an antibiotic that would have destroyed her gut biome. I'm done with the traditional "Rockefeller" approach to veterinary medicine.

Try vitamin E oil on those hot spots too.😊

Serious question: is autoimmune just the new way of saying “allergic”?

If not, what’s the difference?

I'm so glad to hear that Jasper is on the mend! Thank goodness you persevered! He might have been allergic to the antibiotic!

Count your blessings . I have a red nose pit 13 years old who is struggling with all number of health issues the worst right now is walking. I can’t afford vet bills, so we do some various remedies. My daughter and I have been worried about her for a long time. She is a sweetheart. My other dog a Rhodesian Ridgeback -6 years, just died suddenly a few days ago. Was out barking like crazy into a dark night and gone by morning on the couch. He must have weighed 195 pounds. My 3 year old granddaughter just could not understand, she loved him so. I told her he was in doggie heaven chasing rainbows and butterflies. 😢 we only have so long with these best friends.

Our 15 yo dog responded miraculously to a chiropractic treatment. He was unable to stand, wouldn't eat, vet said it was time. Just one treatment and we had a puppy again.

Good news. You are lucky. Many other pets don’t survive.
