I’m reeling between immense sadness and bitter anger right now. And it has become clear to me… and I wouldn’t have said this until recently… that we are midst a furious battle between good and evil, and the lines continue to be drawn more starkly with every passing day.
"Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and imposters will go on from bad to worse, deceiving others and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."
Charlie testified to the Lord Jesus Christ just seconds before he was murdered. The line is indeed clear.
That's a good defining of events, but oddly, from both sides. We're losing track of our sensitivity as a sentient being and that we come in shades of gray, not black and white.
I’ve never cried for a complete stranger, but I’m crying today. From what I can see, Charlie Kirk was a decent, respectful, and principled man. What a horrible loss to his family foremost, and to our nation. As Chris Bray said today in his Substack, violence is all the left has, but it spells the end of them. It can’t come soon enough.
Between Iryna (I saw more video this morning, that I wish I hadn't), and Charlie, I am immensely saddened. Words fail me.
Except this: the previous administration spent 4 years telling us that the greatest danger of domestic violent extremist threat was "racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists, specifically those who advocated for the superiority of the white race". Turns out they were actually half right.
The greatest danger to America is actually the frayed moral fabric of the country, which thanks to misguided left wing feel good empathy and lack of religion, is in tatters, and any feeling of unity and common cause.
Yep, the senseless murders of Charlie and Iryna will ultimately serve to strengthen and galvanize our righteous efforts to destroy the Left. And, may God please help us in the process.
Brian, I’ve been doing the same. I held such admiration for him - all he accomplished for this country and at such a young age. I’m grieving tonight for his beautiful family and praying they are enveloped in love.
It's also shocking because of the surreal nature of it - like a Taxi Driver situation come to life, but with a twist. This time a famous and young and highly politically connected influencer who may as well been shot dead on live TV. Everyone's hating someone and it's unhealthy.
You think nobody notices that the left only sings all these "peace and love, hate never wins" songs after one of your fellow travelers does something awful.
A bright light. I didn't agree with Charlie on everything, as I'm that rarest of birds, a Republican atheist. But his mind was keen, his points were thought out and thought through. The man had obviously spent an enormous amount of time and effort on finding out what he really thought, and how his views measured up against logical criticism. If you watch some of his exchanges with left-wing college students, he is only rarely presented with an argument that he had not already considered and found lacking. He very infrequently relied on religious creed to make his arguments, but never wavered that his views were founded on his faith. He had reasons to listen to him that you didn't have to be a person of faith to engage. A rare talent, and a poorer nation for his passing.
Beautifully, thoughtfully said, Matthew! I’d wager that Charlie would applaud your comment, too — which, to my way of thinking, would be a sterling accolade. Thanks for adding quality to quality.
But we need to stop being forced to preface our own opinions with, “I don’t agree with person on everything.” It’s so belittling to ourselves and makes every opinion an apology.
We can mourn the loss of a life taken way too soon. That’s it. That’s enough.
Far from apologizing for my views, my friend, my comment was meant to highlight my admiration that even a very religious man felt it his intellectual duty to subject his own views to the same rigor that I try to employ with mine.
Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone. Dear Lord, let this one multiply a million fold. True liberty always is built on the blood of the righteous. Now I can cry.
May our Father enter the hearts, souls, bodies, and minds of Charlie Kirks family and friends. May He comfort them, heal them, and show them how this incomprehensible death of His great servant, Charlie, will fit into His plan.
There are many communists around. They all don't behave this way. There's more going on that that. Certainly, the references to evil are telling a lot of the story. Maybe that's all, but I think there's more. I see through a glass darkly, perhaps others can bring clarity.
Sasha, thank you for this post. I hope you understand that I cannot watch these videos right now. I’m a 52 year-old man struggling with an assassination of a great American man. Such a loss.

Indeed, Rooster; you are spot on. Definitely a defining battle between Good & Evil.
I feel exactly the same, Rooster. This is a spiritual battle.

I am not even a very religious person but I have felt that way since Trump was shot last year.

Same here. This has me in tears. Such a senseless death. He was a true patriot and Christian.
I was at airport awaiting flight when news broke of Charlie’s death. Some people were crying here.

I’m doing my best to hold it back.

Yes, you have well artciulated what I feel some are feeling.

Democrats created this mess.

We notice.
May his memory be a blessing.
Thank you, Charlie, for being a warrior in the best possible way😢

Brava and a fitting eulogy.
Always respectful & honest “ If you disagree with me, step to the front”.
'Faith' can take many forms. Those who honestly and sincerely integrate those are blessed.
Today, Charlie saw the face of God and heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
And I'd thought I was out of tears. Your comment proved me wrong. Beautiful sentiment.
Amen

In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen amen amen!!!
Sadly it was bound to happen. The left is full of hate and violence. They’re communists

And a lot worse.
Sadly Yes
Worse… Marxist.
His rallies with these college kids would leave me smiling each and every one. What a gift he had. And what a loss 😢
My heart breaks for his wife and daughters.

Thanks Sasha. What a loss.
Icon.
I'm sure the left have a list somewhere, managed by someone who isn't even American.
The left are communists
And murder is always an option for them, and one they consider especially legitimate - if they can get away with it.
Of course. They see it as justified.
I'd say they see it as their RIGHT. Which is a little different than justified. But the point remains regardless.
Good point!
Marxist
Thank you for posting this. Life has so much good and beauty even during tragedy.
