Love reading your posts, well worth paying for. 2nd trip in two months to AZ soon. What i always notice, besides the lower gas prices, is how much nicer the roads are when you cross the border into AZ on the 10, just past Blythe. It's really noticeable.
If you find your path crossing near the Colorado/Wyoming border, I invite you to spend an afternoon in Fort Collins, especially our downtown area. Tons of outdoor cafes, quaint shops and the entire town is dog-friendly!
I am thankful you are driving again. Last year, your posts were refreshing…revealing how your soul was also revived.
Enjoy your trip and birthday celebration with your daughter!
I’m so excited to hear about your journey along the way. I love long road trips myself and I’m jealous that I’m not on one right now. But have a wonderful time. I’ll be praying for your safety all the way. Enjoy the time with your daughter.
We also road trip 2X year between our winter and summer spots, because of the dogs. It has given us a wonderful opportunity to know more of this fantastic country and meet some interesting people.
Safe travels to you! Made many coast to coast trips, speaking of Wyoming, I was snowed in Laramie for almost a week. Had a blast and was treated like a local quickly even with my California plates on my truck and trailer. We are truly part of a wonderful group of humans, and I encourage everyone to go meet and greet them.
Eating is part of the enjoyment of a road trip. Lots of spots on my map that are "conveniently" marked for a slight detour along the way. Buc-ee's is one of those spots.
Our trip is 3 long days 10 states and 2900 miles. So we don’t linger and we don’t really find local spots to eat. I mean we’ve found some but depending on going east or west and the hotels we might not find them again. Breakfast and lunch have to be fast.
But every state has beauty and TX and WY definitely look different internally from state line to state line. I however have never seen Dallas in sunlight and while I have seen Denver in sunlight in the past, on these trips it’s always in darkness
Best rest stops are in Florida. Worst roads are in Louisiana. Best gas prices in LA and TX, surprisingly not in the energy state WY.
Happy to pay! It beats all other “subscriptions” I have going!
I agree.
It’s like she is my friend.
That's how I feel! This is my one paid subscription and it is my favorite!
Safe journey. Let us know how the corn is doing in the plains, if you go through.
Sasha, I have a sign on my wall (available at Amazon, among others) that helps me get through tough times, such as your loss of Jack.
It reads: "Don't Cry Because It's Over. Smile That It Happened."
What a great saying. Thank you for sharing. Something I absolutely needed to hear today.

Stay safe on the roads.
Have a safe trip Sasha.
Looking forward to your travel posts. Safe travels across America!
Brilliant.
Sasha, you should be paid for all of your content.
Bon voyage.
PS. Your shared wisdom is worth every penny!!!

Driving across America is a good way to touch "grass" in a sense - except that it's concrete.

Can’t wait to read about your travels, Ms Steinbeck
Glad you are taking them on a road trip. Much less stressful for them and it seems for you. Exploring is always a stimulating way to spend your time.
Be safe and look forward to your trip chronicles.
Part of the fun of dogs is actually seeing places rather than flying over.

Have FUN Sasha!
We do the same but with cats.
Texas is interminable. Wyoming is about the same.
This is a huuuuuge country

But fantastic roadside scenery, right? And some interesting local spots to eat too.
