Very interesting and informative. Wow, CIA took out Nixon and years later it’s all so obvious. Nixon should never have resigned. Shameful what the deep state (CIA, intelligence operatives, unelected bureaucrats) has done and continues to do to our country and our constitutional republic’s system of justice and human rights.
Not going to opt out but I wish Tucker had text versions. I am also not going to spend 3 hours listening to something I could read in about 15 minutes.
Yeah I would listen to Rogan more if his podcasts were shorter. There’s a lot of good stuff in them but I don’t have time to sift through up to 3 hours of content for something that could be summarized in an hour. Any podcast that is more than 90 minutes is too long IMO.
How ironic - Rogan addressed your very “complaint” in this podcast. Personally, I don’t have the patience for a 3 hour podcast, but considering his guest I made an exception and I’m glad that I did. Cliff’s Notes has its place, too - but if you live your super busy & important life feeding only off of summaries designed to save you time - then what have you really gained by doing so? We all have 24 hours in a day and the bottom line is we make choices on how we spend our time. We do what we want & don’t do what we don’t want to do (generally). That was an awesome 3 hours and it was an even better use of my time to put in some earbuds and listen to all of it than I thought it would be. Our tendency to condense everything in life down to shorter / smaller pkgs of time is robbing humanity of too much joy & wisdom.
I’d encourage you to rethink the 3 hours and not having enough time. Nobody really has time for a 3 hour podcast. We make time because this isn’t something that should be “summarized”. It’s important to hear the long form conversation when two people are having an intelligent discussion. There is nuance and important factors you can’t understand in a summary. I’d say it is also somewhat important to watch the video of the podcast whenever you can for the same reasons. If it is something that interests you, give it a try. I don’t listen to the full length of many but his more fascinating guests and topics always leave me wanting more. It’s not a “too long” thing. This talk with Tucker doesn’t seem like 3 hours to me. I could sit and listen to two fascinating and well informed (and honest) persons for hours. We, in general, do not listen to enough.
I agree. I found the entirety of the 3 hours worth watching often because of the subtleties of their tone of voice, laughter, facial expressions and digressions. I found them both authentic and compelling I’m their arguments. I’d love to see several of this caliber have regular conversations; eg Carlson, Rogan, Greenwald, Strassel, Shellenberger, Stone, Gajewski, etc.
I get what you’re saying, I listened to about 75 minutes so far, but like I said I just usually don’t have 3 hours to spare to listen to one podcast. There is so much interesting content now, by a variety of sources, and I try to diversify and listen to different voices. I think you and the other commenter took my “summarize” comment too literally. I don’t want some summary of various sound bites, but at the same time 3 hours is simply too long for one podcast and if some of the fluff is cut out they could be done in under 2 hours. That’s just my two cents.
Yeah - interesting comment. I read something recently about a growing trend for some people to return to the "blog" format used by some writers on substack whereby you read summaries of stuff curated for you by people you have come to trust so that you can then judge if you really want to watch it for yourself . . .
It is kind of happening slowly for me anyway.
But I really hope I can find more of it so that after half an hour of reading I can identify the two or three things that I might really want to watch today!!
There is a new niche for some big and broad thinkers!
listened to all three hours today. Here's my 2 cents on the Tucker/Alex Jones/ Mysterious force working against us hypothesis. The human animal, broadly speaking, can be viewed as a massive distributed cognition system. Something that shuts off distributed cognition kills us. If most of us can be made to think the same, we're dead as a species. fish cannot swim in ice.
Tucker, Joe, Elon are some of Gen Xers doing their part to offset the insanity of the boomers.
Not just the boomers at fault.

And believe me, we are only aware of the tip of the iceberg!

If you listen to it at 2x speed you will achieve your goal.
Thanks I always forget about that feature!

You can speed up the rate of play ... and play it in the background while you're doing something else.
That was a fantastic podcast. TC is a national treasure. Rogan’s not far behind.
