Thanks for writing this. It means so much to know that I am not alone and that people's eyes are beginning to open to this fascist threat from the left. I've been seeing this develop over the past seven or so years. I voted for Trump simply because I recognized that what was happening on the left was of far greater concern than any danger Trump might pose. Unfortunately I have been cancelled and shunned by some lifelong friends and it hurts. I've been making a point of sharing your posts on FB along with those of Glen Greenwald, Matt Taibbi, Bari Weiss and Andrew Sullivan. I think people are starting to take notice.

Very well done! [this writer continues to believe in merited compliments :-)] Freedom is always in peril--the threats mutate to meet the opportunities at hand. Thanks for your strong stand and also for highlighting Gina Carano's courage.

Red Scare 2.0.

How did witch trials the og Red Scare end? Did that wave of fear and self righteousness need to burn through the population?

Well with Salem it took a while. 20 people hanged. I think the governor's wife was accused of being a witch and the governor stood up and said "this is bullshit," in so many words. The bubble of fear has to be pierced and once it does it evaporates. That hasn't yet happened here because people are too afraid and simply go along with it. It is mostly the fear of racism - my own theory on this is about Obama being a kind of religious figure to the left and the utopia being built around his goodness. And Trump being a threat to that. Since racism does actually exist and we have such a dark history of it - it can't be proved or disproved. Like being a communist or being a witch. Spectral evidence.

This is brilliant. I’d even call it “courageous” - but then I might be committing an ableist micro-aggression against those who self-identify as cowards, and that might put me on the wrong side of the Trump line.

Do we actually know that Carano voted for Trump? I have no problem with her if she did, I just have never seen confirmation that she was a Trump voter-- only the smears assuming she did based on other tweets that they have read the worst into.

She did. She said so on the Ben Shapiro Sunday special. But really she was not political and like so many others voted for Trump because the left had/has lost their minds.

Ah okay, I definitely missed that. Thanks for the clarification. Yeah she definitely seems like she voted against the left more than voted for trump. At least based on from what I've seen.
