About Dan Caldwell and those of his ilk who came into the Trump administration: they came with an agenda almost diametrically opposed to that of the President.
He, Tucker, and their fellow-travelers are part of the pro-Iran/anti-Israel camp on the right that is again making common cause with the anti-American left.
Lee Smith at Tablet Magazine wrote, “What we’re seeing … is an external faction trying to attach itself to MAGA in order to strangler Trump’s America First foreign policy.” With that faction now openly attacking the administration and making common cause with its enemies to undermine the administration, the only question is how much longer Trump can put up with it.”
I don’t think people are pro Iranian, they are anti pointless wars and most of us are starting to realize Israel is pushing the US to fight for it. They act like we are fighting a war together but in reality we are helping with their expansion by our military and taxes. We are sick of it. If you do the modicum of deeper reading, you would begin to understand that Israel is an instigator and we need to stay out of the Middle East.
Israel is our only ally in the ME, constantly under deadly threats & attacks from islamic believers (river to the sea / death threats extend to BOTH Israel AND US as non believers) . Either we defend our only life, liberty & freedom loving nation & ally in the ME or it, and we as well, gives in to islamic desire.
Israel is a criminal nation that is corrupting American politics and turning American into a tin pot dictatorship with no freedom of speech. Not a friend of the American people
From other discussions on this, I agree tend to believe that Hegseth is not pro kinetic war with Iran at this time. Caldwell seems to be anti MAGA but is positioning himself as MAGA ( peace not war) in order to destroy Hegseth & cast doubt into Trump
Notwithstanding the point of view of AIPAC and the military-industrial-intelligence-neocon complex (ie, the “blob”), the US needs a foreign policy in the middle-east which is designed to protect the best interests of the citizens of the US, not support blind support of every Israeli attempt to expand its borders and influence. Any honest person can recognize that war with Iran is not in the best interests of the American, Israeli, or Iranian people.
Neocons desperately want to replace Hegseth with a chickenhawk so they can start WWIII, they are hoping their moles in the Pentagon can deliver something that will stick. They are also exposing the disloyal operatives in the process. There must be legions of them after so many decades of pathocratic management.
If you look at the history, We will be at war if the Iranians continue to move toward it and push us too far. No sane world can accept radical Islamists self-avowedly and historically intent on world cultural, political, and religious domination.
Nah, if you look at Korea, Vietnam, Iraq WMD and Afghanistan, you will see neocon sponsored wars that had zero strategic value to the US but did manage to kill and wound over 100,000 Christian Americans; not to mention the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians we killed along the way. Neocons love endless war and delight in dead Christians. Numbers don’t lie.
Vietnam exhausted Soviet and Chinese efforts to sweep acros SE Asia, and would have kepnhalf of a country free and prosperous had we treated it like a real war. Iraq eliminated a nasty dictator and freed a people, and removed it from the chessboard of Islamic nastiness.
Agreed in Afghanistan, that’s why Trump 45 was pulling us out in a reasonable manner, but O’Biden screwed the whole area and destabilized nuclear Pakistan.
Please look at maps and notice geographic features, economic flow, national boundaries, and international relationships before making pronouncements on “zero strategic value”.
As to lots of people hurt, civilian, Christian, or otherwise, yeah, dictators and ratty economic systems hurt people. They were being hurt before we got involved. I guess you would have left them to their fate and hoped all the other strategic considerations didn’t make their and our lives better.
Now, why would you want to “guess” that? Why not just ask?
But I’ll see your guess, and raise it by three generations, me in the middle, all of us retired. One was WWII and Korea, one Vietnam era with others and contractor in Iraq, one Iraq-Afghanistan-et al.

Israel is an instigator?
So I suppose that means Iran is just a hapless victim?
I have some swampland for sale you may be interested in.
Nope, but seeing what they did to the USS Liberty and to the Twin Towers and JFk, seems like a stretch to call them our ally.

A take on the Caldwell / Tucker discussion. Some deep state stuff happening...https://open.substack.com/pub/thedailyscroll/p/april-22-koch-coup?r=nl3ud&utm_medium=ios&utm_campaign=post

Korea kept half of a country prosperous and free.

I guess you never served in the military.
