Does everyone realise that this coup by tweet puts us that much closer to being a banana republic?

Thanks Democrats, we can’t get you out of office and into the ash heap of history soon enough.

No, we are not closer to a banana republic. We ARE a banana republic. It started the day that Biden took office.

Why a coup when an 80+-something comes to his senses and decides he doesn't want to do the job for another 4 years? the only thing stupider is when I read those Heritage kind of folks threatening to sue to make him stay. what a laugher.

Ben, I’ve come to respect your views from the other side. I’m curious, do you see this as just an 80+ yr old coming to his senses? Does it not seem odd how this went down? That, although his doctor has given updates to indicate that all vital signs and bloodwork is normal, we have not had a glimpse of Biden for days?

completely fair to ask, and boy would the asking get worse 4 years from now!

They kept saying it was 'his decision'. I am familiar with federal workers. Very difficult to get fired, but boy can they pressure you to quit.

Then why is he still in office?

If he’s unfit to run, he’s unfit to serve.

because staying POTUS was the incentive for dropping out of race.

that's a fair question to ask as well. He can do the Michael Jackson oxygen tent at night for several more months. That does not compare with what he will be in 4 years.

What is happening now is so third world. The only thing missing is Marshall music on the airwaves.

Many yrs ago I was in USA during the Nancy Kerrigan saga and coverage was nonstop every day I was there.

Now an ex president is shot at and all we hear is crickets.

Evil will rule if they stay in power.

people need to know...they are not going to allow Trump to win...we have heard nothing about plans to prevent election interference? Watching the TV pundits glowing over Kamala and not one mention of how the fvcked over Biden...this is not a cake walk by any means...there are too many factions against Trump...as we have already seen....the blame will go toward Iran or an illegal immigrant who was afraid to be deported...the fix is in...

Excellent interview and very insightful. Information as it’s still coming in is discussed ref the shooter and shared so we may have our own opinion and not a determined endgame ref J13 forced on us. 👏👏 The discussion regarding the Dem elite power structure is worse than I thought it could be. We need to remember Obama was selected and forced on us by the CIA. Obama’s college background has no credence nor does his birth record. Biden then was forced on us by Dem elites who knew he was demented, racist, and corrupt. They don’t care. Now he’s not polling well so they organize a coup and force cackling Kamala out as a front runner. The Dem party should be ashamed what they have done to their long-lost party. Thank God we, the Republicans, have a strong leader we have selected, not a bunch of power brokers but by we the people. Here’s hoping to a landslide to correct the damage Dems caused in their pursuit of power. Take nothing for granted and fight, fight, fight.

Even if there was a Deep State conspiracy, Joe didn't know or at least doesn't remember. I am still at insane loser activated by the media but the daily revelations about the SS are challenging that. The thing about the disappearing radio comms was very telling. Recording those is SOP for every LE agency. It is clearly a coverup. Probably of incompetence but maybe something more.

Biden: A third-rate backbencher from a small, challenge-free state. He was a place-holder for the powers that wanted to retain power. Not expected to do much, and he lived up to expectations. He was kept around until it became impossible to hide his unfitness. Not even the once-powerful infotainment industry could keep the emperor look dressed.

A few hours ago I heard a speech by Biden saying he’s supporting Kamala, and he’s still the president until the end of his term. He sure sounded lucid and healthy, so was this the other Biden speaking? I know people have good moments in dementia but he sounded like the Biden of 3 years ago, or earlier.

Truth Social, no video, at least that I saw.

Here is my question why should any GOP care what democrats do in their primary? Democrats have done this before with LBJ and GOP benefited from it with 8 years of Nixon. The simple answer is gleeful malice towards the other side, but Democrats shouldn't get much mercy either since they wouldn't give any compassion back so its hate/hate standoff.

Expand full comment
Richard's avatar

The Democrats routinely interfere in in Republican primaries either trying to get a weak candidate or a RINO. depending on circumstances. That said, the government has no business running primaries. Let the parties do their thing.

Expand full comment
HL3's avatar

Government wasnt running the primary and Democrats were right to pressure Biden out. RFK Jr was nothing more than a conspiracy pawn funded by MAGA GOP. I dont have sympathy for either party but that is how I saw the election of 2024 so far.

Expand full comment
Richard's avatar

If it is an election, government is running it. There are still some caucus states.

Whatever RFK2 is, it's not MAGA. MAGA likes the vaccine stuff (at least the COVID stuff) and they like his opposition to the Forever Wars but there is gun control, environmental lunacy and bad economic policy to offset.

Government is not running the primary in anyway and its their choice who gets the nomination.

I have no dog in this fight. I just find this election mess too entertaining to pass so I did some homework. Both candidates have their strengths and weaknesses so lets look at them closely:

Trump

Strength: endurance, no matter how much s___ they fling at him he stands taller, some track record accomplishments that he can tout (good living standard, no international wars), has an actual loyal base that wouldn't vote for another candidate, managed to unite a divided party, worst that could happen to him has already happened ( assassination, conviction) so the rest is small potatoes, tries to be more restrained in this cycle

Weakness: it's nigh impossible to capture second term after a 4 year gap also why vote for someone who cannot be in the office for 8 years, opposition succeeded in vilification (aka TDS), his temper and lack of restraint his worst enemy that supplies opposition's ammo against him, is the oldest POTUS candidate now that Biden vacated in a trend that favors a younger candidate, has to adjust his campaign approach to the semi-new ticket which is a risk

Harris

Strength: much younger than Trump - an optic that served Democrats well with Kennedy, B Clinton, Obama, has always been a favorite of big tech, legacy media will have her back despite derision of previous years, historical narrative, breezing through promotions (VP, nominee) gives it an aura of inevitability (train cannot be stopped), doesn't have an actual career bad stop to hammer her on (the one Tulsi beat her on was long time ago), is a blank slate so that feels fresh despite the fact she's continuation of the current administration, can take credit for administration's successes

Weakness: a swap especially with different gender can be tricky cause attitudes and habits incl voting don't change with it, feels unearned, it is the same administration so she'll take the blame for failures too, was considered a weak candidate until a day ago and we saw with Biden that polishing cannot hide rough spots, has become a nominee not in a normal primary but in a coup that will leave a lot of bitterness even if hidden which could become hinderance down the line, no political program or conviction of her onw but prone to flip-flopping
