While 99% of the credit goes to President Trump it must be acknowledged that a profoundly more engaged and energetic population of voters than perhaps ever before has contributed greatly toward herding those feral Republican representatives and senators into line.

They know we’re very much paying attention and their positions are on the line if they thwart the President’s agenda.

Keep the pressure UP!!

Skenny's avatar

They need a lot more herding. With a cattle prod, max current.

I would like to think that what you’re saying is true; but both parties are so unresponsive in so many ways, especially the Dems. How can it be that 60-70% of the people can be against something, and yet politicians will rationalize away or decide that they just know better, because . . .and that’s not representation.

No doubt, I have lost all respect for the ACLU. For that matter, if you’re an activist (person or organization), I don’t want to hear from you at all.

Libertarian's avatar

ACLU has always been corrupt.

The ACLU picks rotten cherries.

Great. The next thing that needs to happen now is for Jerome Powell to be fired. At best, he is a table-pounding ideologue about tariffs: "beliefs not affectable by evidence". At worst, he is trying to sabotage Trump by seizing on tariffs as a pretext. Either way, by keeping interest rates high he is dramatically increasing interest payments on the deficit, gee thanks. And either way, he should be gone. Yesterday.

John Webster's avatar

The CPI inflation rate is staying stubbornly above the Fed's desired rate of 2% or less; by another index inflation is more like 3% annually. Trump wants the Fed to lower short term rates to below the inflation rate, i.e. a negative real short term rate. That is a prescription for higher inflation. Higher inflation would destroy Trump's approval rating, as it did Biden's. That would result in the far Left Democrats coming to power in 2028. Trump is too mentally lazy, too uninformed to know these facts.

Matthew J Florio's avatar

Powell himself admits that all the targets for rate reduction have been met. He's just pretending he can see the future to stick his thumb in Trump's eye.

David White's avatar

The Fed's current interest rate is about 2 points higher than the inflation rate. Not too many years ago, interest rates were zero, and this state of affairs, as theoretically impossible as it might seem, was maintained due to lack of better options.

I'm really excited for the upcoming celebration year. I am so so grateful we don't have a Democrat President for our 250th birthday. Can you imagine?

"249.9 years ago, the United States did its first disservice by using big boats instead of walking across the land bridge like they should have! We apologize to the Ocean."

Charlie Kirk talked to someone who claimed to hate America.

Kirk said, "the United States is the only country in the world who has people that say they hate it, but never leave it." Amen!

Yeah, all these people who say we are "colonizers," I think they should set the example, by deporting themselves. Send the Gays for Palestine group over to Gaza, and have a rooftop celebration!

Technically, anybody in North America waaaay back to Long long ago, including Indian tribes, technically was a colonizer.

SO WHAT.

I think your point of objection is that the bill aims to help *only* Americans, scooter.

Jen Todd's avatar

The response from he/she/they/them to your statement has nothing to do with the bill that passed. You know your talking to an idiot when there's a hard turn into something no one was talking about.

Hmmm....How come you have never complained about Nancy Pelosi and her husband getting 54% returns on their stocks this past year?

And I've never heard you complain about the millions that the Biden family made, from Ukraine and China. 🤔

Yes, Nancy Pelosi is obviously the smartest person in the whole United States, regarding the stock market.

54% returns!! Wow.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with insider information. 🙄

And I'm sorry, other than the highest officials like President or Vice President, nobody is going to pay $300,000 for a senator to give a 10-minute speech, unless it is a political interest that is looking to find a great way to, under the radar, contribute to that person.

It's ironic that now that the funding for USAID has been cut off, all of a sudden the Democrats are having trouble paying their bills 😂🤣

Hmmm....

Scott's avatar

You're confusing two different things.

Biden was selling access to the office of the vice president, and making money that way through Hunter Biden.

All the things you brought up with Trump, have to do with the fact that he is making money, with business interests, outside of the Presidency.

Not by selling influence on policy.

Big difference.

Scott's avatar

Haha, had many issues with dementia already in 2020...

He didn't have to be particularly clever, because he had people like Hunter Biden selling access to the office of vice President under Obama.

And, he was the Big Guy, who always got his 10%...

Not that he's the most truthful person, but I find it curious that Zelensky said out of 180 billion given to Ukraine, 80 billion was missing.

Lynette's avatar

Democrats love their wealthy elites.

Democrats are now the party of wealthy oligarchs...

Bernie Sanders only bitches about billionaires now, because he became a millionaire while in orifice. You can't make this up!

Nobody is more "Do as I say, not as I do," than the Democrats.

It's like Oprah and Whoopi, counting their millions of dollars that they made in a capitalist society, telling everybody else that the United States is severely racist and minorities can't be successful in this country. Since when? They're not an example of somebody doing well, in the USA?

Theyre totally denigrating everyone, and this Country, and acting like anyone who is a minority is totally handicapped from being able to do anything in their life in this country...

Scott's avatar

Well, I disagree with that.

Kamala blew $2 billion the last 2 months of the campaign.

But putting lipstick on a pig, sure didn't work. That's why the bigwigs are reluctant to give right now...

But most of the bigwigs, the "ogliarchs," are in the Democrat column now. Democrats are now the party of the "rich people."

The party of Big Money.

Bernie now slams billionaires. Do you know why he doesn't slam millionaires anymore? Because he became one while he was in office... You can't make this shit up 😂🤣

Nobody is more "Do as I say, not as I do," than the Democrats.

Scott's avatar

Those that DON'T...

Protest against the latest fad, and thing that is making life "NOT FAIR" for them.

Katens of the World, Unite!

Jen Todd's avatar

I'm so tired of listening to people that made choices that weren't great disparaging those that had to eat the same shit and succeeded despite it.

Scott's avatar

Definitely...

Progressives, if they were named properly, would be called the "Regressives." Professional Victims!

They don't even stand for most of the things that old classic liberal Democrats stood for, like freedom of speech.

It's all about "sticking it to the man," cuz they ain't got none.

And, it's your fault and my fault, even though we worked for everything.

The President is scheduled to speak in Des Moines at the Iowa State Fairgrounds at 7:30 PM this evening. It’s beyond my reach due to teaching a night class in Des Moines until 10. It will still be 88 degrees when he starts. Best wishes for a positive event to President Trump and all who attend. Stay hydrated!
