The primary concern now is Islam. Dressed up as socialism.

The Koran permits Muslims to break their oaths - swearing an oath on the Koran is meaningless

It should be banned from use in public office, courts of law, or any other important matter.

https://hellish2050.substack.com/p/the-koran-permits-muslims-to-break

Dena's avatar

The Quran seems the antithesis of our constitution. How can a US politician be allowed to swear an oath on a book that has no connection to the ideals of where he is to govern? Immigrants, both legal & illegal, make up a large percentage of NYC population. Modern day immigrants are different than in the past - in general they seem to be here for the freebies & not to for the freedom to make a good life for themselves & their families. So of course the sweet lies of communism appeals to

Hellish 2050's avatar

Muslims migrate as a religious duty - to spread Islam worldwide. The freebies are a bonus, and help them with their task.

In a way the "moderates" are more dangerous than the jihadis. The moderates lull ignorant non-Muslims into complacency. Unable to recognise the danger.

See:

Muslims see the left as weak, this is why Muslims vote left

They fear the conservatives, as conservatives have principles

Islamic Socialism is where the Nation of Islam intersects with the crime problem in our US cities.

By blaming all of inner city problems on whitey, they can tap into the collective white guilt liberals feel when they wake up every day...and leverage that guilt into a career either as Attorney General of Minnesota or a US Congressperson from Minnesota or as a Mayor of NYC.

Even the Jewish Mayor of Minneapolis is hoping to convert to Islamic Socialism...he's well on his way...

Americans haven't quite come to terms with how loyalty is owed first to the ummah, the community of Muslim believers, not to the nation-state and its population. This is not a secret or extremist position; it is a mainstream Islamic doctrine openly taught to the diaspora. Demographic pressure, parallel legal systems, self-censorship/intimidation, and the gradual replacement of one moral order by another are all why the tolerance of liberalism should come to terms with what the illiberalism of Islamic piety entails. If is unwilling to do so, then our hospitable desire to live and let live is willingly writing its own death sentence.

Most white Leftists I have known have a very strong streak of self-loathing, a quasi-masochistic desire to punish themselves and the civilization of which they are a part. Their impulses seem more rooted in psychology than in politics.

Lets be real here.. people break oaths on the bible too. People just lie when they lie. A holy book oath unfortunately is not some magic that makes people tell the truth. I get your point, but him searing on a Qaran is the lowest level of problems he is about to bring upon New York

Hellish 2050's avatar

The point is that the Bible includes the 10 commandments, one of which prohibits telling lies. Thus Christians and Jews are commanded to be honest.

Yes some individual Christians and Jews may be dishonest, but they are dishonest despite their religion not because of it.

Muslims are dishonest BECAUSE of their religion.

In Christianity and Judaism it is immoral to be dishonest.

In Islam it is NOT regarded as immoral for Muslims to be dishonest.

I cannot make the point any clearer.

According to Koran 9:111 we would be doing them a favour. According to the Koan, the only guarantee of paradise for a Muslim is to kill or be killed while fighting for the cause of Allah.

Cooper Raymond's avatar

Before they kill all the Jews?

Look....we can't treat all Muslims the same.

You have fundamentalist Muslims who want Sharia Law.

You have clans from Somalia who inter-marry and still carry out female genital mutilation now that Minnesota Democrats legalized it with their Gender Affirming Care Law.

And you have some who are rather secular in their beliefs who've assimilated to US customs by becoming doctors and lawyers and keeping their faith in the background. These are the Muslims wearing business suits and not keeping their women 10' behind them...or marrying their brother to commit immigration fraud.

Problem is thinking we can lump all Muslims into one category. Same with Jews and every other religion.

Here in MN, Ilhan Omar's largest donors are Jews.

Explain that to someone who just landed on this planet.

Beeswax's avatar

I'm one of those fabled New York Jews, so I have standing to contribute my two cents. But also, I don't fit the stereotype.

The progressive Jews in my family are some of the most uninformed, self-righteous people I know. They suffer from chronic TDS which flares up often.

They all voted for Mamdani because he's going to give us free stuff and make things fair for everyone and we'll all live happily ever after in Munchkin land with our Wizard-market-manipulated, government-sponsored grocery stores. And besides, what's more progressive than socialism?

They choose their causes on the basis of identity politics: the victims du jour are on the bottom rung of the oppression ladder. That includes Muslims, as well as transgender women (i.e. men). They care about abortion rights but nothing at all about the 5'2" female shoplifter of color who's forced to share a prison cell with a 6'5" murderer calling himself Mindy.

I'm sorry, that's cognitive overload. How do you choose your victim when you can't keep track of all the contenders for the Victim Olympics gold medal?

To put it plainly, they're desperate to distinguish themselves from anyone in a MAGA hat, and they get their news from a few select outlets, so they're uninformed. Hence, they never heard of the Muslim grooming gangs in London. And they don't know that in many parts of Sweden, women can no longer walk the streets unaccompanied by a man, or that rape statistics have gone through the roof since the country opened its borders to thousands of Syrian men.

Maybe progressive Jews are particularly susceptible to feeling sorry for groups who are ostensibly victimized. As a Jew, I'm instinctively drawn in that direction, so I understand it...at least until I do my homework and realize that the victim carries a very big stick.

Conveniently, if all you read is the NYTimes you're going to miss some stuff. But you sure do feel good about yourself.

Seva's avatar

“Conveniently, if all you read is the NYTimes you're going to miss some stuff. But you sure do feel good about yourself.”

The New York Times sets the narrative for the msm nation-wide and is certainly the narrative in Chicago where I live. I can’t even remember the last time they mentioned anything about black racism. The official narrative set by the NYT is that it simply doesn’t exist. Except for 4 years in the Marines I’ve lived all my life on the northwest side of Chicago and have often read of reports of white women attacked by black men downtown and on the north side. They’ve been punched out, had urine thrown in their face, stabbed, slashed and beaten over the head with metal pipes. Never yet have I seen any of these men charged with a hate crime. Most have a long history of such attacks but are soon back on the streets. If I were a white woman in Chicago I’d never go out without a gun.

Last year a young (26) white woman on a train downtown had gasoline poured on her and was set on fire by a black man. She has 3rd degree burns which took off the skin on her head, face, upper body and could easily have blinded her. She will be permanently disfigured and in constant pain. She will never again have a normal life so it’d be best for her if she simply dies and avoids the nightmare ahead if she lives. This was obviously a hate crime yet as always that’s ignored by the media. The democrats and their media are evil.

Have you read the Koran?

It commands Muslims not to befriend Christians and Jews. Those who do will go to hell, according to the Koran.

Any Muslim who is friendly to a non-Muslim is either:

- ignorant of the Koran or

- knows the Koran and deliberately ignores it (in which case they are not really a Muslim) or

- knows the Koran, believes it, and is only pretending to be a friend to non-Muslims.

In the third case usually for some advantage to themselves. For example, extracting money from gullible non-Muslims. And / or getting themselves into high office in order to help other Muslims.

That’s sick. The Muslims are people, some good, some bad. I’ve known Muslims in Chicago who are no different than other people. I think the ones in Europe are lower class whereas the ones who came here are middle class. That makes a big difference. I used to see Muslim women here in hijabs which looked very strange but it’s been years since I’ve seen that. I think they stopped dressing like that.

If this is true then they need to start openly taking a stand against their Muslim brothers who are on the wrong side of things. Standing by quietly and stating “we are not all the same” is condoning the behavior of those they don’t want to be seen in alignment with. If they can’t speak out strongly, they will understandably get swept up in being treated all the same. It is not up to us to sift them, it is up to them to sift themselves. I’m done with being expected to figure it out on our own, and then being accused of bigotry or racism when we come out against a collective group.

Sasha, you’ve expressed a wariness about this guy that many of us feel. It’s not because he’s brown or Muslim, either. And it’s not hatred at all, Dr. Who. It’s warranted skepticism of someone selling “free lunch” tickets. I’m black and come from a family full of Muslims, (and I am a minority Christian within the group), and Mamdani gives me the creeps. It’s not always about race or religion. It’s about underlying values. More people in the world’s history have been helped by capitalism than by socialism or communism - - and that’s putting it mildly. Communism kills millions at a time, and Socialism is just the appetizer for it. The people voted because they responded to an appeal to their envy and lethargy. “The rich are getting richer, and they’re taking what belongs to you.” “You don’t have to work for what you get; the system is rigged anyway, so you may as well get what you can from the government.” “The government owes you everything that you need.” It’s that kind of thinking that elected Mamdani. It’s self-destructive, and I am personally hoping that the new mayor’s “collective vision” is side-stepped. It’s a nightmare of a vision.

Notes from the Under Dog L.'s avatar

And here, I quote myself: "This is a nation divided by those who can smell the bullshit, and those who smear it all over themselves."

Mamdani is OBVIOUSLY a snake oil salesman. Obviously a deep state puppet they dug up for his good looks and dark complexion. Anyone cognizant of judging characters can see that. It's not about race, or even religion, although the Muslim issue is concerning. It's about a guy who came out of nowhere, has no practical experience, a fake grin, and VERY BAD IDEAS.

In saying that the disapproval of Mamdani “was not because of religion,” I meant that one could disagree with his politics without “hating” him solely because he is brown and a Muslim. In other words, his philosophy is objectionable no matter what he looks like or what religion he’s adopted. If he hopes to implement or enforce Muslim principles in NYC, he must be challenged directly. I love my family, but I follow Jesus.

I live in Chicago which is being destroyed by city-wide black wilding so crime was the number one issue during our mayoral election. The runoff election was between a white, tough on crime, moderate named Paul Vallas and a black, Woke, blame whitey, leftist named Brandon Johnson in May 2023. Only a third of registered voters bothered to vote and Johnson won 51% to 49%.

So why did the 51% vote for Brandon? Partly because of anti-white Woke ideology which teaches that AmeriKKKa is permeated with white racism, “systemic racism” which is always everywhere oppressing blacks and keeping them down. The way then to stop the social breakdown, crime and dysfunction in black areas in cities like Chicago is to go to the source, “systemic racism” and stop it. Once the source is shut down the problem will be resolved.

This is taught in many of our public schools, universities and even Biden used to like to talk about and promote this idea so it’s really not at all surprising that so many believe it. In other words, we exist in entirely different realities which is why we are no longer a functional society.

Notes from the Under Dog L.'s avatar

I watched my old Chicago friends on FB brag about voting for Johnson with great interest and panic over the stupidity. How could they do that after the disaster that is Lori Lightfoot? After observing them for several years now (these are former punk rockers I knew in the early 80s) the best excuse I can think of is that they are mired in the past, and can't for the life of them see that these POC's have bad ideas, are racist, and poor leaders. They refuse to see it. They pat themselves on the back even.

And then you have Bill Clinton, the white front man for the Clinton criminal organization led by Hillary herself.

Everyone needs a front man to deflect.

This is Mamdani's weak spot. He's got nobody to take the heat when all hell breaks loose.

Probably because he's more principled to Karl Marx than the others...who merely use him a front while they rob America blind.

You may well have a real Marxist on your hands NYC. Someone truly committed to the ideals and ethos of a collective society.
