Whether or not one was into the sport of professional wrestling, he was always a good guy.

Maybe, but there's not a Trump-hater currently alive with the necessary credibility to argue the point, you included.

I’m impressed by how quickly you’ve responded to this Sasha!

I was never a fan of wrestling or the whole cheesy endeavor but how could you not love Hulk? He was a positive and energetic man who was also an unabashed patriot. And oh yeah…a master entertainer and entrepreneur.

It's hard to overstate the cultural impact that he had on real America. Culturally, this is as big as Ozzy. Those people who think his convention speech was over the top don't realize that it wasn't aimed at them. The biggest accomplishment was taking down Gawker media...

Yeah, the news shocked me today.

I am glad to hear he was baptized a year ago.

Satan might be glad to hear that, too. If Hulk Hogan were to go to Hell, Satan would be in for a beat down. ;)

He gave the last full measure to his country. Deep respect for him.

Sasha, I’ve never spoken to you, but as I read your material, you are brave and committed like him.

You may very well be the Hulk Hogan of Substack!!

I totally get your take on this guy, Sasha. I'm in a very similar boat:

When Ozzy kicked off, I was all 'meh'. I never cared for that genre of music, and the few episodes I was forced to watch of his reality show didn't appeal to me at all.

But Hogan? I THINK I had heard of him for the first time in 1982. That summer I had graduated from PARTS and saw Rocky 3. Through the years, you couldn't avoid hearing about him. There was a time where I saw some clip or something where he was telling kids to '...take your vitamins and say your prayers,' and having youngun's at home I thought that was cool of him. In short, I was never a fan of WWW.

There was some sex tape lawsuit he won a while ago; and through the ballyhoo of that- some zillionaire funded his lawsuit as a revenge play on the outlet- I learned some more about him, and he was interviewed on (I think) 60 minutes. This was back when I actually had cable.

This afternoon, I got a few texts from friends. And we had NEVER talked about Hogan, but they nevertheless texted me. And then, I 'boomered' along to my FB account, and whoa...

I think the world is much, much lessened by his passing.

The fact that the wrestling wasn't real almost made the stories truer. This is probably the closest that we had to seeing myths carried out before our eyes. Although, instead of it being told to us (like the movies); we got to witness the demigods duking it out before our eyes.
