I’m a nervous wreck!

Worst, if Trump loses I will be convinced that all the strategically place illegals will vote Harris and push her over the line

I keep praying for our nation

I’ll probably listen to Megyn Kelly- she’s been so impressive

The illegals won’t vote. The NGO that shipped them I. Will vote for them. Tightening that screw should be one of Trumps highest priorities

Yes. They deserve some *severe* regulation. Or maybe a temporary banning while we sort things out ...

The way to do it is to pull their tax preferences. Got to leave the churches alone and a few legitimate charities but all the activist ones and their contributors have got to pay.

Hi Gio, I mean that God wants us to fight for goodness and even if we don’t win the fights on earth, we are doing our part to have a better chance of getting to Heaven. I learned as early as parochial grade school that there are two lives; a very short one here in earth and an eternal one of wonderfulness in Heaven or abject despair and suffering in Hell; I concluded I wanted Heaven. And I see fighting the good fight as fighting for goodness. God bless you, amigo.

When illegals are given driver’s licenses and they know if trump wins they could be deported; whereas Harris wants to reward them with amnesty

Of course they have plenty of motivation to vote- and how is proof even possible?

Just posted this comment on another stack...I"m a former Dem who had my first and only panic attack when DJT won in 2016. I was OVERJOYED when he was defeated in 2020.. and I laughed to myself today as I cast my ballot for him, realizing that even a few months ago I couldn't have conceived I would be voting for him and really hoping he wins.

Almost no one I know would suspect this vote.

I'm guessing and hoping there are many more "hidden" R votes like mine today.

That was me in 2020. I voted Gary Johnson in 2016. I remember thinking about 6 months out to the election I thought "Am I really going to vote for Trump?". When election day arrived, I would've crawled through razor wire.

I voted for Gary in 2016 too (even though he's a big "meh"!) then Trump in 2020. Almost always voted 3rd party (NYS-so what does it matter?)

Once you look from the outside, TDS is quite scary how it robs the individual of all rational thinking.

What changed your vote to Trump?

Expand full comment
Bridget's avatar

#1/#2 (tied): freedom of speech/press; bodily autonomy in terms of vaccine choice.

I also fear the ever-increasing "woke-ism" and cancel culture.

I spent the past couple of months coming to grips with my TDS and realizing how much media manipulation had shaped my opinion of him. I still don't love him, but I now realize so much of my opinion wasn't my own.

RFK joining the team was a HUGE draw for me. I felt dubious initially, but once it seemed like Trump was taking MAHA seriously, that made a very big difference (and regardless - Kamala sure wasn't going to care about any of the RFK issues!). I think the MAHA platform could honestly transform America all by itself (it any of that stuff can get through legislation).

It's hard to make the choice to swim upstream when most of your loved ones suffer from severe TDS - even if you're thinking you're making the right choice. Ultimately I HAD to cast this vote, because I live in a swing state and I really, really didn't want her to win.

And I felt at peace with it today. That was the part that surprised me. It took me a while to get from "I'll just hold my nose, oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm even considering this" to "This could lead to really big changes." Hopefully good ones :)

Cobalt blue Massachusetts here. I voted an R ticket, except for those Ds running unopposed; for them I just left the bubble blank. My vote has no chance to give Trump/Vance any electoral votes from MA, but it’ll count toward the popular vote.

I saw posts on FB, which I have not used for a decade, stating that Trump is going to put people into concentration camps.

These people are beyond reach. Almost all of them are women, boomer/x-gen, mostly childless and divorced, living in extremely liberal regions, Madison, WI, NYC, Telluride in my case.

How do people become this delusional? Amazing.

They have become the same people I routinely mocked while in university, for all the same reasons. Perpetually juvenile in many ways even though they have 'respectable' careers.

I rarely talk to them now and never about politics.
