Joe Manchin is Running for the Middle

And Other Friday News Bits

Joe Manchin has announced he’s not going to run for Senate in West Virginia (probably because he would lose) and instead is going to tour the country to see if he can find some “middle ground” for sensible folks. He has written all about the two extremes of each side in today’s Wall Street Journal. It should not be surprising it appears there rather than in, say, the New York Times. Manchin knows media on the Left has become toxic.

We are fighting a cold Civil War at the moment and things need to be settled before America decides its future. Will we be a socialist “Woketopia” on a global scale where physical borders disappear and we’re grouped only be ideology? Or will America yank back to its roots, solidify its border and take care of America first?

Manchin hopes to make a play for that middle ground. I guess we should ask what might happen if he runs as a third party. Does he take from Team Blue or Team Red? My guess is that Team Red suffers because Team Blue are essentially fascists now — in the truest sense of the word. Happy fascists. All in alignment. All in agreement. All on board.

He joins Robert Bigelow, owner of Budget Suites who says, “At this point in time, we need the guy in the White House who scares the hell out of every other leader in the world who intends to do harm (t0) this country.”

David DePape will Face Life in Prison

Nowhere in the story of David DePape will they ever talk about who actually was, or his past. They will only talk about one thing:

The way it works is this: if they’re on the Right, they are terrorists. If they’re on the Left, they are mentally ill. Our justice system, Federal or in California, will punish people on ideology where Trump is concerned. They see him as a unique evil, something almost other-worldly. Thus, any time his name is invoked, you can expect the maximum sentence.

Hey Kids, You Too Can Be Neither

On the Left, there is ongoing hysteria of what they call “book banning,” which usually translates to school administrators looking at various books to judge whether they are suitable for elementary school kids. They all seem to think people on the Right are insane to be worried about such books. Yet…when you see them in all of their craziness, how can anyone not worry? We’re talking about the impressionable minds of children. Why would you want to confuse them about their gender when they’re just babies?

Since we may be headed for World War III, I have enjoyed watching cooking shows about the WWII days of rationing.

Mark Houck is Suing the DOJ for 3.25 Million

Good. The January 6th prisoners should sue. The Capitol Police should sue. Any American citizen persecuted by the government should not accept their condemnations and lies about who they are and what they care about. They are not terrorists. They are no extremists. They are not “white supremacists.”

Looking For a Good Flick?

I recommend Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers. It’s the closest thing you’ll get to movies the way Hollywood used to make them. It should be playing somewhere around town. It’s a great story and a fun time at the movies.

David Fincher’s The Killer drops on Netflix today - it’s a tightly-wound thriller about an assassin. Great movie, but violent.
