Thomas Sowell summed up that thought well, “It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.”

Democrats are the moral busybodies that C.S. Lewis referred to: https://lizlasorte.substack.com/p/democratic-governors-vow-to-fight?r=76q58

He can pardon himself, though it’s never happened before. But then, so much this regime has done has never happened before in lawfare and that’s never stopped them. I wouldn’t be surprised if on the way out Joe pardons himself and Trump as well. A final barb to the DNC for their coup against him!

The Biden’s are as crooked as they come I would be going after Jill. She signed their tax returns which hasn’t declared all of their income etc. so after Jan 21 you go after her and throw the book at her. Hunter is committing a crime as we speak he is such a scumbag. Let’s get a DA in someplace like ND or Wyoming to charge him hell you can manufacture the crime just like the NY DA did. Try him in a jurisdiction that went 80%+ for Trump and jail Hunter and Jill for the rest of Joe’s life which won’t be for long.

A president can’t pardon on anything that hasn’t been formally charged yet. There’s evidence of other crimes that have been set aside in legal limbo, such as sexual assault, and I’m betting they are waiting until 1:PM on January 20th to formally issue the charges, although Hunter will probably miss the inauguration because he’ll be in a country with no extradition treaty, just in case.

Wrong - it's known as a pre-emptive pardon:

"In the 1915 case of Burdick v. U.S., George Burdick refused a pre-emptive pardon ... because accepting it would have meant that he could not claim his Fifth Amendment privilege when called to give testimony relating to the pardoned crime before a grand jury." https://www.brookings.edu/articles/presidential-pardons-settled-law-unsettled-issues-and-a-downside-for-trump/

The pardon has immediate effect - and Biden is still in office until 21 January of next year - that's nearly two months. The effect of the pre-emptive pardon is that Hunter may be compelled to answer questions by, say, a House committee - and he wouldn't be able to plead the Fifth Amendment. They could serve him by Friday with the subpoena, and have him in on Monday, December 9 - plenty of time to ask lots and lots of questions. And they could subpoena lots and lots of documents - and a lot of people will still be very much on the hook. There's a good reason that pardons are done on the last day of an Administration...

Your last sentence is exactly what I’ve been wondering all day. Did HB’s sentencing hearings this week and the 16th force JB’s hand? I figured the pardon was baked when HB changed his plea to guilty in September. He had to, a trial would have exposed everything. Likewise, I expected a delay of some sort would happen with the sentencing. But now the door is open to numerous strategies, assuming anyone is willing to pursue them. Makes me go hmm.

I'll guarantee you Biden doesn't think he or his family has done anything wrong. He see's it as his birthright in politics. This is the way all politicians go in with a normal amount of money and come out millionaires. Grift is part of the reward of being elected. They all do it; Biden just got greedier as his status increased. No one will be held accountable as almost all of them do it.

In a way, this is good. Going after Hunter was always going to be portrayed as some sort of a perversion of justice, tit-for-tat, or going after the son in order to get to the real target (the father).

All that is now off the table.

Which means the Trump administration is free to go after the other criminals in the government, of which there is no shortage.

Maybe start with a certain other criminal family that has created the term "Arkancide". And the Epstein files. Guessing there will be connections there.

Please pardon my disagreement Sasha, but that is incorrect.

If the fascist far-left is known for anything, it’s being able to turn on a dime with double standards that will make your head swim.

The same people who have no qualms over criminals – because after all, they’re the down trodden – while going after grandmothers who walked around a public building. Will have no problem persecuting their political enemies. The National Socialist media is still going to complain about this until the end of time.

As a father, this time, my first ever, I side with Joe ... after all if Hunter ended up in this mess he did so because his father enabled it ... Old Man Joe should have been there to stop it, not enable it.

Joe is too far gone for indicting him ... he is over, a no longer useable puppet by the Puppet Masters.

However, the many parties who sought to abuse the rule of law and weaponised the DOJ and the alphabet agencies against Trump are not.

Trump is not going to pursue Old Man Joe, like he did not want to cause hundreds of Iranian widows in retaliation for the Iranian downing of an unmanned US drone. This "evil" man comes up like a saint compared to the war mongering likes of Papa Cheney, his Baby Lizzie Cheney, Victoria Nuland, and Her Majesty, Hillary ...

Horrifically distinct from Trump's empathy, Hillary Rodham Clinton who chuckled when corrupted by donor monies from Qatar and Saudi Arabia and enabled by the shameful South African seat at the UN Security Council, succeeded in ending Gaddafi ... sodomised with a bayonet in a dusty culvert!!!

HRC is enough to make anyone puke in revulsion ...

Bondi with Patel must investigate the deliberate weaponisation of the DOJ and alphabet agencies to stifle the "will of the American people" ... albeit they were not successful these criminals need to be held fully accountable to the maximum provided for by the law.

The best is that Sam Harris guy (Wikipedia: neuroscientist, philosopher, and podcaster) demonstrating that even a "philosopher" today need not have one milligram of critical thinking to be a successful leftist. I have heard that dead bodies thing before but nice to be reminded and see it in context. Here is a clown who says that no matter how bad anything Biden (either one of them) ever did or could have done, it would not change his positive outlook on the Bidens or cause him to reevaluate his opinions on Trump (doesn't sound very "philosopher-like" to me! "I have an opinion and nothing in the universe would ever make me change it" sounds more like a brainwashed zombie!!).

The other point here is why with Joe's huge list of corruption including packing his own son's nose filled with cocaine and his bedroom with prostitutes while forcing him to "go get his money" from some of the most dangerous corners of the globe never impacted Joe's becoming President. Even Monica Lewinski had some impact on Clinton ... and as bad as that was, it was nothing compared to the compromising position Biden put our entire country in selling whatever he sold to the Chinese, Russians (!), Ukrainians, and who knows who else. Why was he allowed (by the media, celebrities, and "alphabet agencies") to get away with it? It's obvious to critical thinkers (i.e., people who are unlike Sam Harris): The letter agencies in the U.S. had complete control over every word our of Biden's mouth from day 1. They had (and continue to have) so much "dirt" on the guy that he is forced to do whatever they tell him without question. A true puppet. Sam Harris maybe didn't think about that, but apparently it wouldn't have bothered him if he did, because, well, Trump and all.
