Excellent! You captured the Next Door ‘No Kings” Karens perfectly.

That was brilliant! The sad part though, is it's accurate for most Karen's on the lunatic left.

They be crazy. The Democrat grass roots are worse than the politicians. There is no nonviolent option other than separation.

Probly, but define 'separation'....

TLDR: a sep'n of the dem electorate from the elite DC dem estab bc your ways are not their ways.

If I may throw in my few pennies to your inquiry: I was raised as a Christian constitutional conservative Republican. I am gay and when I left home at age 19 for college I was certain that I was a democrat because it was democrat affiliations that I observed amongst the gay community in the ‘gayborhood’ (for me, this was Cedar Springs in Dallas). I saw democrat-affiliated organizations in every ‘gayborhood’ whether it was Houston, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Key West, NYC, or DC. Being politically ignorant at that time, I was certain that I was democrat. I registered as a democrat in Central Florida where I went to school when I exchanged my Texas driver's license for a Florida license. Though I was registered, I was completely inactive and uninvolved. Being vice-chair of the gay & lesbian organization on campus, our Chair made connection with some folks that provided our group tickets and airfare for our group to an event in DC. This further reinforced my belief that I was a democrat. Two years later, my junior year I did my internship in DC. But, this time, everything was different. I had several opportunities to see DC on the inside, as in the inner-beltway, elite political DC democrat establishment types. I had the opportunity to work side-by-side with the ‘K Street crowd ‘, the United Way, the tax coalition & EITC going door-to-door in the roughest parts of DC distributing information to the very low income earners, and while it was rewarding, I had the opportunity to see what the world sees: practiced, polished, pretty shining faces and what the world never sees behind the curtain and closed doors. The time that I spent in DC doing my internship reaffirmed for me that I had always been a conservative Republican. Never was I a democrat. My personal values and convictions are far much different in numerous ways. To this day that democrat registration can be seen on some background check services, however few, yet, not once have I ever cast a vote for a democrat. With that as a backdrop, what I am more than certain of is that there is a very clear divide between the elite DC establishment democrats and the everyday democrat electorate. I have witnessed the DC democrats extol the big ticket items that appeal to the democrat electorate which obviously garners support . However, I believe that what the majority of the electorate wants and envisions is nothing at all like what the DC elite democrats want and envision. I do believe that the furthest left democrats who are well beyond the scope of the US democrat are aigned with the DC elite democrats. But the majority of democrats I believe are good people and fail to realize how not good those in DC are. Indeed, they work a very nefarious agenda dressed up all nice and attractive to the outside world but underneath that attractive facade, there is much to be concerned about. Somehow, this needs to be relayed to the democrat electorate but by who and how, I don't know. But coming to this realization would necessarily spur a separation from the DC elite democrats y the democrat electorate. I'm not quite sure how else to put it other than to say that the elite DC democrats have done an exceptional job at pairing the electorate to many mostly meaningless distractions, supporting the electorate in those distractions while retaining their power v and simultaneously working a very nefarious agenda behind closed doors. To characterize DC democrats as ‘duplicitous ‘ would be being much too generous. How to relay this, I don't know. This can all be confirmed and I believe that a day is fast coming when it will be fully exposed. And I'm concerned about going much further simply because there is so much more to this and it all goes very, very deep. Trying to frame it all in a context that makes absolute perfect sense is definitely well above my paygrade but there are those who are fully informed, well versed, extremely literate in all the ins and outs who I believe will bring all of this forward in a very concise and easily digestible way - not palatable in any way, but able to be understood.

Good essay Aaron, interesting journey you've had.... and thanks for the insight...educational. The fact that 'good people...fail to realize the nefarious agenda' is a concern. They are somehow 'blinded from the truth' in ways that the rest of us are not. They are badly deceived alright, but why them and not us?

Part of my journey as Christian is when I discovered several scriptures in the Bible such as II Corin 4:3-4 , and they all essentially say that those who worship false gods instead of the one true God, unrepentent of their sin, they will be forfeited to believe the lie. Forfeited to believe the lie -- wow, literally supernatural.

Hence, I'm praying for a great revival in the US, and worldwide....that people can be brought to their knees, repentent before God and to simply worship Him, walk with him. If people get their heart right, all other goodness will follow, including how they vote. You know the communists always stamp out religion/Christianity -- it really gets in the way of their agenda.

"Since Trump's election in 2016, Democrats, including Harris' own campaign, have made a regular habit of calling the leader of the opposition a "threat to our democracy." Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-N.Y.) menacingly summed up his party's message in a televised interview with former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki last November: Trump, he said, "has to be eliminated." David Plouffe, a senior advisor to the Harris campaign, is on record saying "It is not enough to simply beat Trump. He must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not rise again."

"Harris supporter Rick Wilson, cofounder of the ethically troubled anti-Trump Lincoln Project, told MSNBC "They're still going to have to go out and put a bullet in Donald Trump."

You're so desperate. Send me those links to Rs calling for the murder of any D. This chronic delusion is why dems will be out of power for a long time. Of course, I can't underestimate the stupidity of ignorant people who are, unfortunately, allowed to vote. Losers deserve to lose.

This may be satire, but how many of us know a real life Janet?

Steenroid's avatar

I don’t think it’s satire at all. There are neighborhoods all across America just like this. Sad, lonely people that have to follow their group because they are such timid people.

Sasha, great job. Janet, the ultimate Karen, is a fun character. I love the situations you stick her in. And her self justifications. It’s laugh out loud funny.

Well done, Sasha. It would be appalling to think that people like Janet actually exist. And if they were voters.

Wait - what???

Very amusing column. Meanwhile, in real life in my quite progressive neighborhood, I've been getting a flurry of emails on our neighborhood mailing list from people who have recently spotted ICE agents in the vicinity. ICE has been seen stopping suspected illegal immigrants (or undocumented persons, depending on your point of view) and detaining some of them, and a mysterious helicopter has been hovering overhead. This happened on Halloween as well. My neighbors are upset, and are discussing ways to help possible targets of ICE, like landscapers, avoid detection. These include giving them rides to safe spaces and blowing whistles to alert people about ICE's presence.

The fact that this was happening on Halloween made me wonder whether some people might have foolishly dressed up as ICE agents, and then got in trouble either with ICE for impersonating their actual agents or with the anti-ICE people for participating in ICE's crackdowns. I also had an idea for a new entry in the "Halloween" film series featuring Michael Myers dressed up as a masked ICE agent, and a frantic Dr. Loomis hunting for him and warning everyone to stay clear of Myers and not let him in if he knocks on their door.

Mexican immigrants are staying inside here in IL. ICE has been targeting companies that hire them, and apparently, even if these folks have papers and proper documentation, they are detained. Maybe this wouldn’t have been so bad had our governor and the mayor of Chicago cooperated with ICE? Instead of helping them find the “bad guys”, ICE has been forced to use these other tactics. How many years has Chicago been overrun by gangs?

Jen Todd's avatar

When I lived there 30 years ago, the south side was an absolute no go. I read somewhere that up to 10% of Chicago's population are gang members. Why is it that state and local government pretend that gangs and crime are not a problem? To go from Lori Lightfoot and her defund the police effort to Brandon Johnson protecting predators is tragic for a wonderful city like Chicago.

This is so darn good. Can we all just stop……I long for the good old days when we just judged people on their character and not what they believed politically
