You might have a better response if you use givesendgo.com. Not a fan of go fund me. How do you know go fund me won’t suddenly decide they don’t like the film project and keep the money? Remember the Canadian truckers.

While I completely agree they were negligent in protecting their equipment (hopefully not also in forgoing insurance on the car), their perspective is worth supporting.

The fact that San Francisco is overrun with dystopian thuggery is common knowledge, but 911 hanging up on them twice while they’re documenting the devastating effects of “defund the police” is exquisitely painful irony.

All of that is worth the $25 I just donated.

Ok they were negligent in not putting it in the trunk or covering it.. yes insurance if possible would have been prudent..and yes give send go would be preferable. Are you through with the grousing and the should haves? Now throw a few bucks their way and support a really good man and his son and their noble cause.

Shelby Steele and son, Eli did a great documentary on Ferguson and Michael Brown. It was first going to be shown for free on Prime and then it was decided by cancel people that it was too controversial and misinformation. I bought it and found it well worth the money and time

.I am sorry this happened to them.

Anon Ymus's avatar

Actually, homeowner's or renters insurance would typically cover a loss like that. I am a bit confused as to why they would leave thousands of dollars of equipment that's easily hocked in their vehicle in a city that is known for lawlessness. It's a bit of work, but bring the stuff with you! I'll donate something and do feel bad for them, but I hope they learn that stupid tax is expensive!

Sasha Stone's avatar

When I drove across country I had a backpack full of my most expensive equipment, even in the safest towns I didn't trust it to be left in my car. BUT I understand things like this happen. I trust them that they have the best of intentions here. But yeah I think that explains why the donations are so low.

This is heart wrenching but not surprising. Shelby Steele’s 2007 book “White Guilt. How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the Civil Rights Era” is a classic that prophetically analyzes and describes the destructive behaviors that woke fanatics and CRT peddlers are now doubling down on with impunity. No surprise he’d be targeted by the mobsters of the Left that I personally refer to as the democratic party’s re-cycled Klan. They still like lawlessness and still have the will to bully political enemies into submission. They’ve simply re-defined who is now the new object of their wrath. Shelby Steele is a brave and thoughtful soul who dares to speak outside the pathological group think of the black community and their unhinged white enablers. It’s an understatement to say his voice is important. Thank you for this update. I donated.

Hell, most of the people I grew up with in the 1940s South could've predicted this. In fact, I remember a sheriff in Birmingham in the 60s describing to some A-hole TV reporter exactly what the city would look like after it was ethnically cleansed. Some things are easier to predict that the morning sunrise. As always, Leftists are immune from contagion by reality or the truth.

First of all, I am stunned that some people are not aware of the car break-Ins in SF. Given the cost of equipment stolen, would not it be cheaper to hire a policeman for a few days?

Btw, for as much as the topic is popular and politically sellable, it’s not defunding the police that matters, it’s the instructions that police is given, when to get involved and when to stand down that matters.

Before looking for cure, make sure you have proper diagnosis. Curing a stroke patient by a cancer protocol is a sure way to kill the patient.

Isn’t this one of the reasons why the number of deaths from medical mistakes/malpractice more than quadrupled since 2010?

If we ban guns at 10K deaths/year should not we ban doctors at 450K/year?

Just asking … for a friend!
