You get to a certain stage of life and sex no longer is the driving factor in a relationship until it matters hardly at all. Enduring friendship is the golden chalice after 60. It seems you have found that, even if a little before that age. It seems you are already "married" if this is the man who you can share everything with and lean on; who will walk your daughter down the aisle. Congrats on your lifetime relationship!!

Wonderful telling of your long and deep friendship with Michael. How wonderful to have a true friend who loves you enough not to care how you vote!!👍

And thank you for reminding me that spending time in silence is so necessary to the writers mind.🙏

Gorgeous photos!!!!

That used to be the norm! That was always the way it was before TDS.

You can tell he is a good guy by the way the dog looks at him. They always know.

This is wonderful Sasha. A truly beautiful friendship that transcends all, including politics. I have one of those that's developed more deeply recently and it's all the more special. You look happy. Trusting this lets you recharge your batteries. Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to Sasha, Michael and family. A sweet “Odd Couple”, but also honorable and kind. I prayed Michael will find his Catholic faith again.

How many of us have fondly memorialized people we were close to at funerals only to realize we should have told them how much they meant to us when they were still alive? You've done what we all should strive to do and in a beautiful way.

Sasha - Thanks for the pics. You were a looker and you still are, and your daughter inherited those lovely genes.

Loved seeing your dog, and seeing and learning about sweet Michael. I wonder if, while wishing you hadn’t been exiled from Telluride, Michael connects the dots to realize that it was his “side” that cancelled you.

Safe travels.

Regarding "thinking," some of us find that the neighborhood between our own ears is fine to visit, but one doesn't want to live there. All the streets are circular.

Thanks for the story of friendship. Your daughter is beautiful and seems happy!

I grew up in the Church of Christ as well and I get where your friend is coming from. I have no hard feelings about the church and love those I grew up with. Thankfully my wife and I found another church once we had kids and it there that I learned about grace, that God loves me unconditionally and that we get into Heaven through grace and not "works." Sasha, I am still praying for you and Elon daily that the Holy Spirit would lead you to believe. Romans 10:9-10. Safe travels!
