The concept of turning a heart of stone into a heart of flesh is found in the Bible @ Ezekiel 36:26, which states, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” This verse promises spiritual transformation, where a hardened heart that resists God’s guidance is replaced with a soft and open heart that can follow God’s commands and experience spiritual growth. Other relevant verses include Ezekiel 11:19 and Hebrews 8:10, which similarly emphasize God’s promise to remove stubbornness and replace it with a renewed spirit, leading to a closer relationship with Him.

Hello Steven C Watson. As you know, obfuscation is the obscuring of the intended meaning of communication by making the message difficult to understand, usually with confusing and ambiguous language.

Please illuminate your reply: Who is "your guy that goes around hardening hearts and obfuscating so folk won't understand and turn to be saved."?

Curious people tend to be the smartest regardless of credentials.

This 'religious conservative' is part of a large group of folks that stood a post while you slept. Speak. Always. We sometimes may not agree and that is normal.

Just blow these folks off.

I often say, the more sure you are that you are right, the more likely you are to be wrong. Once a person is sure they are right, they stop evaluating information. That makes them perpetually ignorant.

Agree, ignore the jerks. There are plenty out there, of every stripe.

Then, there are occasional cases such as Brahms, who wasn't a jerk though it took people a long time to figure that out.

Brahms had some sort of neurological kink which made him unable not to insult people. He was aware of this, and mortified by it. People who gave him a chance realized that he was a sweet and kind man, burdened with - something.

A lot of neuroscientists are convinced that Brahms' tendency to blurt insults was connected to whatever brain oddity made him capable of writing music of fantastic beauty, such as the first movement of his Fourth Symphony.

Once, at a party, Brahms sensed early in the evening that he had run ragged the tether of his company's patience with his insults. He decided to leave. At the door, he was struck by a thought, and before he left, said this to the other guests:

"If there's anyone here I haven't insulted, I apologize."

You can be provocative without being offensive, but the Internet is not a help with this, is it?

I am what today’s society would call a “religious conservative.” That said, I am not a Sadducee or a Pharisee. I love Jesus and am well aware that, “ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” I love your honesty, transparency and love of the truth in whatever you deem necessary to get your point across. Jesus also said that His Disciples would be known “by their Love.” I love you Sasha Stone, no matter what! Keep up the good work!

Many/most of us subscribe because of your unique perspective and your creatively direct way of expressing it. Keep being you.

We have regular commenters from many different perspectives. Only a few have strayed into silly name calling, while there has been a lot of vigorous discussion. Thanks for both your insights, and providing a good forum for discussion. Carry on, we are with you.

If someone does not take the time to find out what your writings are about, that's their fault. Not yours. If they're claiming it's offensive to them because they are "religious," then that's doubly their fault. Shame on them for not doing their due research before blindly signing up for these literary pieces and op-eds.

I'm glad you are not bending to the minority. Write on.

Signed,

A very Conservative Traditional Catholic.

I for one, am so glad to have found you here. We’re around the same age and I was a democrat for pretty much my entire adult life even though I was raised by religious conservatives. Having broken away from that ideology in my early 20’s, I always considered myself to be an open minded free thinker. Then covid hit and I saw what the Dems have become and how their “tolerance” only goes one way. So grateful for your voice during these times.
