We may be in the midst of the greatest political realignment since FDR galvanized African Americans to vote reliably Democratic. Rural and working class whites are increasingly Republican, and African American and Latino voters are increasingly up for grabs.
The Democrats are morphing into the party of the urban professional white voter - the "Karens" they so love to mock.
Has any party ever been successfully trying to mock its own foundation?
I think this is probably true - but it goes along with the pendulum swing theory that was last gone through from JFK-Reagan. We're going through the end of the Obama era. Trump was the tear down but in 2024 and beyond you will see the follow-through, I figure. Democrats have lost their minds. They are in no position to lead this country. To win elections you have to try to attract voters and all they seem to want to do right now is alienate votes. I used to think that establishment GOP would take the lead but now I think, given last night's results, that Trump has invented a different kind of conservatism - one that has clearly has more crossover appeal. So I imagine that is where the action is going to be, not to mention Trump will still have a huge microphone and influence after leaving office. Rather than purge him - Democrats have inadvertently made him stronger.
The Democrats are increasingly intolerant. I unfriended more than 100 contacts on FB today based on "If you didn't vote for Biden, you're a Nazi and unfriend me." Done. Who needs that kind of vitriolic hatred in their lives? I don't care if people voted like me or not - I just ask to have my point of view tolerated, and to be judged for how I live my life. That seems to be passe on the Left, however ....

Thank you. Life is way too short.
