Her passing hit me hard this afternoon. But what a beautiful tribute you’ve written.
I’ve been off Woody Allen films for a while now, but I need to binge “Annie Hall” and “Manhattan” (along with “Reds” and “Baby Boom”). God, I’ll miss her.
In 2016, I saw her on Amtrak from LA (we were headed to Chicago). She was smaller than I'd assumed, chatting with passengers, standing in the aisle. I heard she didn't fly.
Never gave a mediocre performance. From Looking for Mr. Goodbar to outright comedies, she was always center stage. She took her kid into the YMCA, heading to the gym for basketball. I said hi, and she stopped and talked to me with that gorgeous, winning smile and seemed willing to continue talking to me, a stranger, even though her son was eager to get to the court. What a generous spirit she was.
Sasha, thank you so much for your beautiful tribute to Diane Keaton.
I think she was one of ‘those’ famous people that everyone loved.
I saw her once in Marina del Rey in the library parking lot. She was on her bicycle waiting to cross the street. She was dressed just like Annie Hall. I thought, oh she’s riding her bike and dressed just like Annie Hall! She will missed. She brought her light to the screen and we all got to love her.
In the pictures of her older, it doesn’t look like any lifts, Botox or other shenanigans, she still looks beautiful.
Some people just Age well.
According to Wikipedia (for whatever that’s worth), she publicly rejected the idea of plastic surgery.
So beautiful and so real. May her memory be a blessing.

And The First Wives Club.
I’m embarrassed to say I never saw that in its entirety! I’ll add it to my list.
❤️❤️❤️Such an icon! I remember her in Sleeper…so funny and so beautiful. And in so many movies where she played such interesting women. RIP Diane!
