Sasha, DOGE making noise about going after Congressional reps who’ve enriched themselves in quick manner. My current thinking is this is to create leverage for codifying Trump EO’s into lasting law. Those that won’t go along with the House/Senate votes = that person’s grift gets $ exposed.
Shit, this is a live show on the UBER blockbusting story that the NYT published regarding the Biden Admis TOTAL lies about the Ukraine war. Matt just published a massive post on it a few hours ago.
Just saw that DOGE is taking direct control over the UFO files by order of Pres. Trump. Elon being Elon, he's named the group Men In Black and has given them a deadline of April 15 for the release of all completely unredacted files, photos, and videos.
There is, in TX, an interesting cultural difference between Polk and Tyler Counties on the one hand and Hardin county (just to the S) on the other: Hardin County is notorious for hunters (or rather poachers) shooting at game wardens. The explanation corresponds to the fact that Hardin County allows liquor while Polk and Tyler Counties do not: Polk and Tyler are Bible-Belt, while Hardin is not. (Truth in Advertising: there is a sign in southern Polk County warning that game wardens are armed: there is some overflow.)
As for why Polk, Tyler, and Hardin Counties together would be treated as a unity, they are the three counties that together make up "an area of unusually dense forest", traditionally known as "the Big Thicket". (What a coincidence.) But the National Park Service regards the thickets as only one of 9 ecosystems in the area. (I took pictures of pitcher plants. I could not find the venus fly traps.) The beech/magnolia forests, by contrast, are quite open, since beeches, casting their incredibly dense shade, do not allow any other trees to grow under them, except baby beeches. (What a coincidence.) They are the Killer Trees ... Northern Hardin has, within a small area, almost every significant tree that grows in the eastern US, including some that go as far NE as SE Canada. So now you have learned a thing, or two, or three.
Wow! That was a pretty mind blowing episode. We’ve been on the brink of nuclear war for 3+ years by a hairsbreadth and still may not be out the woods if that freaking war is not brought to an end.
Perhaps the publishing of the article is designed to shame the EU and UK into knocking off their saber rattling and back down., seeing as their -and our- cover is blown for having been running the whole damn thing at the expense of Ukrainian lives. The recklessness and lunacy of the entire Biden administration in this whole tragic saga is off the charts.
It's kind of difficult for me to fit in things that are not "on topic". But here goes ...
One and a half policies:
1) Federalism: pushing policies off to the states. Why? Because they cannot print money. So much for over-spending causing inflation. (I would make an exception for homelessness, since as it is now the states have an incentive to be mean.)
1.5) Since only the larger states could afford to do R&D, such states would have to be able to copyright (not patent) their results. Presumably the states would find a way to stay out of each other's way. The system would be the same as what is used in music. Paul McCartney does not get to sue for other people playing or recording Yesterday: they just have to pay him (and Yoko). (One of the companies that handles that is EMI. I forget what the other one is.) The same system should be employed for drugs. Patents for drugs are a monstrosity, especially given that patents can (if politicians like that disgusting creep Lieberman get cut in enough) be arbitrarily extended. (I feel like throwing my shoe at the TV every time I see Cavuto praising him.) That happened with suvorexant, which, after a lot more than 7 years, stills costs me 8 dollars per pill. (Not that that means anything for us. But for many people it would.) The whole system should be re-done on a copy-right basis. No more monopoly pricing.
My favorite thing all week!! These 2 are magic together! Love them both so much brilliant and on top of everything 💋❤️

Astounding show focused on that NYT piece! Utterly mind blowing!
It’s on my calendar. Love these two.
Thank you for all you do! You make things easy for me to find. I so appreciate you!
You're a fellow America This Week regular? Now I actually know you're cool.

Me being me, this is April Fools...
Glad they acknowledged the conspicuous lack of coverage of Putin’s limousine explosion. I thought I was losing my mind.

Interesting article on "Grifterism." Explains the hate for DOGE...

God have mercy on us.
Thanks! I keep falling asleep trying to listen live - this is much more convenient.
Tim
Mine too, Sasha, always anxious for the show to start!
Who was having their patience tried? I was all-in interested of their dissection of the article.
Thanks for posting this today. Could you be so kind as to post it every week. I don’t have access otherwise.
No acknowledgement of "Guilt by Association" => "Extreme" = "Righteous"
