I Present Children Literature in the 21th Century:

A hundred years ago. (Author Jeff Kinney as Read By Character Greg Heffley)

Sometimes I sit and wonder

About stuff I don't know

Like what the heck the earth was like

A hundred years ago.

Did cavemen ride on dinosaurs?

Did flowers even grow?

Well, we could guess but that was back

A hundred years ago.

I wish they built a time machine

And they picked me to go

To check out what the scene was like

A hundred years ago.

Did giant spiders rule the earth?

Were deserts filled with snow?

I wonder what the story was

A hundred years ago.

Only an idiot would disagree with you that "the fanatical left" is a problem, but it's just as foolish to ignore the danger posed by the rise of Islam.

Cheer up, Sasha! You're conflating News and Journalism. Current News is encouraging on many fronts. Current Journalism, on the other hand, is fear mongering disguised as information. It's meant to be depressing. People wouldn't read it otherwise.

It seems serendipitous that you chose April 27. That was the date of my late wife's birth in 1945. We were together for a little more than fifty years; forty-seven of them as husband and wife. She weighed just a kilo at birth. Her parents were Russians from Odessa, slave labor for the retreating Wehrmacht. She was born under a bridge in Germany in the dying days of World War II. Forty-five years later we found the Bavarian couple who had sheltered them for her first few months. She would have been eighty yesterday. Unfortunately, passed away on Thanksgiving morning in 2021.

Thank you for the mental break, Sasha!

I am also fearful of the rise of the Left. So many of our friends are liberals and believe everything the left is saying, creating fear for everything from the loss of their social security (for our contemporary friends) to the downfall of everything else for our adult choldren. It makes me angry to see them so fearful—and not willing to listen to any “misinformation” from me.

It is sad that so many hate Trump more than they love America.

Keep up the good work!

Depressing like 3 children who are US citizens — including a 4-year-old receiving treatment for metastatic cancer — being deported with their mothers?

I would certainly like to know about the story of a child with brain cancer deported. Unfortunately, I only found the claim of an immigration lawyer, not supported by any evidence.

Only about 4,000 children are diagnosed with brain cancer each year. I wonder how many of them are the children of illegals? And yet somehow this child was among the first American born children of an illegal to be sent home with mom.

I must say this sounds implausible, so more evidence would be appreciated.

Reading and listening far too much to legacy media, which pushes one deceitful propaganda operation after another in order to define an alternate, false reality. What is depressing is that some people still take the propaganda machine seriously.

Congratulations to your Shit God for being the first leader of a political party to lose an election in another country! Back in January, Canada’s Tories had a polling lead of 25 points and Justin Trudeau resigned. Yesterday, the Tory leader lost his own election entirely because of Trump. No policies or conditions changed up north at all; Trump opened his fat gob and lost the election for the Conservatives. I hope to see this repeated in every election for the rest of my life.

Indeed! Distractions from tariff fallout like outlined below are welcome!

American consumers are expected to begin experiencing product shortages and higher prices due to the Trump administration's tariffs by the end of May 2025. This timing accounts for the typical eight-week lag between the implementation of tariffs and their impact on retail shelves, as goods move through the supply chain from overseas manufacturers to U.S. stores.

The tariffs, which include a 145% duty on Chinese imports and a 10% tax on goods from other countries, have already led to a significant decline in shipments to major U.S. ports, such as Los Angeles and Long Beach. Vessel arrivals at these ports are down by nearly a third compared to the same period last year, and container bookings from China to the U.S. have fallen by 45% as of mid-April.

Retailers have warned that prices for various products, including produce, electronics, and household goods, are likely to rise almost immediately due to the increased costs associated with the tariffs. Economists also predict that the tariffs will contribute to higher inflation rates, with the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure expected to average nearly 2.7% during the four quarters starting in April.

The good news is that these articles should be in the public domain.

The bad news is that these were the times of rise of National Socialism – and yes, that was name they used. Because for at least the previous century, the name Ναζι had under gone severe pejoration, whereby the meaning of the word changed for the worse.

For example, from the

Bavarian Express Messenger from 1852 3 10

She was called in several times with Mr. Mar Schweiger. The latter looked very amusing as a "stupid Nazi" and has to enjoy good vocal means, which he asserts with the most favorable success, despite too few exercises.

This always blows me away. We had a friend who had a child last week. If human lifespans remain fairly constant (however, ours are currently diminishing), in 100 years, that baby girl will likely have died 15 years earlier at age 85.
