Musings and Mirth
If you are looking to save money in our government the way to do that is to get the money wasting Republicans out of office. Suing the president because WAAAAAAAAAAAA they couldn’t overturn the Affordable Care Act is one of the biggest crybaby moves by a crybaby party we’ve seen yet.
The Republican-led House approved a resolution on Wednesday authorizing Speaker John Boehner to sue President Barack Obama over claims he abused his powers at the expense of Congress and the Constitution.
The vote was 225-201.
Republicans argue Obama’s executive orders in a number of areas were unlawful because it’s the job of Congress to make or change laws. But they believe his handling of the Affordable Care act gives them the best chance at proving their case, and are basing the suit on that issue.
House approves lawsuit against Obama An impeachment conspiracy? Boehner: No GOP plans to impeach Obama
House authorization now allows GOP-leaders to have the unusual challenge filed in federal court. The time frame for that is not clear and many legal experts question whether any judge would take it on.
John Boehner and the rest of pasty white republicans who approved this measure are just butt hurt that the President managed to pass THEIR STUPID HEALTHCARE BILL to help the American people. I am one such person who now pays a small amount of money every months to have HEALTH INSURANCE so that I don’t have to go to the ER when something bad happens to me. What is wrong with these fucktards? They could not overturn the healthcare law so they’ve opted to waste money with a lawsuit?
I am seriously hoping they all lose their jobs in the midterms, cowards that they are.
This is so awesome. Thank you Yesus for this gift bestowed us – Elizabeth Warren gets really mad, as mad as every woman should be when faced with a sexist conservative pro-corporate radically fundamentalist Christian SCOTUS. She nails them. Right to the wall.
“Guys, this is 2014 not 1914. Most Americans thought this was settled long, long ago. But for some reason, Republicans keep dragging us back here over and over and over again.”
“Right now, with millions of Americans still out of work, and struggling to recover from the worst economic downturn since the great depression, with 40 million Americans dealing with student loans, with millions of people working full-time at minimum wage and still living in poverty, with the big banks getting bigger and the workers getting poorer, and seniors struggling to make ends meet, Republicans in Washington have decided the most important thing for them to focus on is how to deny women access to birth control.”
“Most Americans thought this was settled long, long ago. But for some reason, Republicans keep dragging us back here over, and over, and over again.”
“Giant corporations and their right-wing allies fight every day in Congress to protect their own privileges and to bend the laws to benefit themselves.”
“I will never stop fighting the efforts of backward looking ideologues, who want to cut women’s access to birth control. We’ve lived in that world, and we are not going back — not ever.”
We can say, in fairness, that not all humans ought to be destroyed. But if we’re making lists of the first people to get eaten in the zombie apocalypse, I vote for these dumbs cunts, the women who hunt and brag about it. That they hunt big game and then post pictures only make them look stupid. They don’t really care, of course, because this whole stupid subject has been warped once again along partisan lines – so lining up behind the dumb cunts are the stupid conservatives who tweet their support – why, because it’s on Fox News. It’s like “freedom fries” or Sarah Cunty Palin drinking a Big Gulp – We’re Americans! We Wear Stupidity like some people wear skin. It’s beyond humiliating. Globally, eternally humiliating that we have so many stupid ambassadors. Let’s divide the country into equal parts – smart people on one side – we get to keep the federal government, the post office, the military and Obamacare. Stupid people can have poverty lining their dirty city streets, arm every citizen, eat high fructose corn syrup and fast food to their hearts content, send all of their jobs to China and watch as five families keep all of the wealth. Over on the smart side, we’ll have walled off the stupid people’s half-country so that their “freedom” won’t continue to pollute and warm the planet. Their part will look like the overflowing ashtray – ours will be a paradise of well cared for citizens, organic farming, made in the USA products. Oh it would be great.
But for now we have to share our country with the dumb cunts and the stupid people. Good thing we have Twitter to keep track of them. Here are some of those defending the Queen Dumb Cunt who shoots up big game animals, though she isn’t worthy to lick the dirty sweat off their genitals.
So to give the dumb cunt the benefit of the doubt, to “research” and “get educated” about what she is supposedly doing, if you’re a big game hunter to protect habitats and endangered species, then posting bragging photos of the dead animals is disrespectful all around. If you are interested in reading up on the facts, you can find a fair account here. Jones is nowhere near the only big game hunter and yes, is getting a lot of hate because she is a young pretty blonde girl and that might be the ultimate betrayal to a patriarchy – one of their hot broads turning into an obvious cunt.
Either way, no matter what your view on hunting and conservation, her photos put up on her Facebook page are repugnant, disgusting and wrong. That makes her a dumb cunt forever. Sorry.
How funny that Dick Cheney and John McCain are piling on now that Iraq has blown up into a giant clusterfuck to try in vain to blame it all on President Obama. It’s a cynical, vicious, cowardly finger-pointing move you’d expect from elementary school kids but not from grown men. Dick Cheney is a war criminal, along with George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. They know it. We know it. They are desperately trying to salvage what is left of their legacies by tossing that hot potato Obama’s way. Their word should be considered contaminated by now, not to be trusted. They are liars.
I don’t know about you but most mornings I wake up and think, wow, I’m alive another day. It feels sometimes like Groundhog Day in that the same problems and torments rise up, rinse, repeat. But it is also another morning with a body that works, in a mostly peaceful city, in a mostly peaceful country on an ordinary/extraordinary day. My wonderful father is currently battling cancer. He struggles with the side effects of chemo every day. He says it’s started to mess with his thinking. He’s lost almost all of his hair and his body has withered down to skin and bones. He’s trying now to shrink a tumor and rid his body of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. But he’s alive. He’s here.
It’s Father’s Day. It’s a pre-programmed holiday to make people buy things and buy things we do. No harm done, of course, because what’s wrong with appreciating dad? I think back to all of the ways my dad made my life better, even when he himself felt like he was failing at life overall. He has always been harder on himself than anyone else. His life was never easy. He was raised the son of a single mother, my grandmother, a very early career woman out of Yonkers, NY. My grandmother had grander plans than being a mother and though she helped raise ten of her eleven brothers and sisters raising my dad when she was just starting out as an ambitious, intelligent, beautiful woman was not what she’d had in mind. You did that back then, in 1936 because what else were you going to do? Get married, have kids – that was the plan for most women.
I’ve begun to document my vegan cooking self-taught lessons onto a new section of this site. It is in the beginning stages, of course, and explains why it’s vegan. I find vegan cooking to be fun and challenging, particularly baking. What confounds and attracts me is that a whole new school of cooking is being invented right now to satisfy the many who are turning away from factory farming and dairy either for health or moral reasons. Human beings are adaptable to almost any diet, provided they are getting all of the right nutrients. Eating vegan is probably the hardest of the mainstream choices out there because you get a lot of bang for your buck if you eat meat. It’s kind of like a brown bear who gets ahold of a jar of peanut butter. He can get everything he needs from that jar without having to spend eight hours digging for little insects or eating vegetables. That’s why bears are so motivated to break into coolers and campsites. Humans are the same. They know they can get the bang for their buck with meat — but that doesn’t mean you can’t get what you need if you don’t eat meat. You just have to be diligent and resourceful. Anyway, enjoy.
